Although we were only there for an extended weekend, the house and its amenities were top notch. It had everything we needed for a large family. The best part was the location. Just a short walk and we were at our favroite restaurant and shops in the village of Duck.
House was great! Right In the heart of duck! Can walk to everything or very short drive, my older brother rented a golf cart so we were extra spoiled! Huge pool! Only thing we wished is that the stove was more updated! Cause we cooked pretty much every night. But that is a very small strike against. 10/10 would stay again. Or at worst on duck landing lane for sure!

Sounds like you enjoyed your vacation and the home. I will let the owner know about the oven. Please come back and join us again.
The house is in a perfect location, close to town and the beach. We are a family of ten, and there were plenty of bedrooms to accommodate our needs. Having a pool in the backyard was a plus since we were there during Hurricane Debby, and we couldn’t always get to the beach.

We are so happy you enjoyed the home. Debbie did bring a lot of rain with her, and we are so glad she has left.

Duck On Inn - Relaxing!
The issues we had had with the house:
1.the size of the Living Room TV it was just a little small for group viewing.
2.the gates to the pool and shower area need some care
3.the bedroom on the top floor had some loose screws in the closet that caused the door to stay open. A Phillips head screwdriver could have fixed it.
4.either a full size second refrigerator or/and a separate ice maker would be helpful.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay! We've been coming to the Outer Banks for a number of years, and this was one of our favorite places to stay! The location was on point and the house overall was a good size for us. We hope to come back again soon!
The location couldn’t be beat and the house layout was excellent. Unfortunately, two issues need to be dealt with (and they’re easy!). There was dog hair everywhere, and yes, we understood it was a pet friendly rental, and there was a line of urine on the stairs. A carpet deep clean is in order. Also, the gas grill was unusable, completely rusted inside and out. Time for a new one before the busy season next year.

Needs to be pest treated between stays
Duck Landing is a fun neighborhood that is walkable to the beach and town of Duck shopping. We enjoyed the proximity, being able to park right by the beach, the pool at the house, the indoor pool at the clubhouse by the beach, and the hot tub. The house itself could use a little maintenance and it does need to be pest treated between stays. We found several roaches and I complained to maintenance who offered to have pest control come out to spray/treat the home. However, the pest company and I were not able to connect during our stay so we just lived with it. I'm not sure if we would stay here again.

Needs some love
Location and neighborhood very nice.
But - primary bathroom had a very small shower with a very small and generic shower head.
Tube TVs in most of the closets ... they should be removed.
The TV in the main living room VERY small.
Upon arrival bugs were running in the cupboards.
Prior guest must have complained as a pest guy came out twice to spray. We sent him away both times as we have small children and a pet. Should be sprayed when guests are not renting. A pool guy also came out to fix the pool light which he couldn't get to because of overgrown bushes with thorns. I do think the rental company is a responsive company but owners really could do just a few things to make it nicer. Thank you.

TLC needed
The location and neighborhood community of the house is excellent. Unfortunately, the house itself is a bit outdated from a decorating standpoint and is in of some overall TLC. As an example, the owners may want to remove the National Geographic magazines etc. as this really dates the property and does not appeal to a younger generation. The house is listed as pet friendly, however, the yard has cactus and other prickly weeds which then do not allow for a dog to go to the bathroom safely. This is in contrast to the majority of the other houses in this plan. This could be a huge asset for this home with some investment. Additionally, the landscaping is in dire need of attention in and around the pool area and home. There were weeds galore growing in the concrete slabs adjacent to the pool which I pulled one morning due to their size. While we love the rustic look this was a bit too rustic. The gas grill was unusable, but we made due with the charcoal grill after my husband cut back some of the weeds. The beds and living room couch were all quite comfortable, but the basement has a musty odor which is not appealing. In conclusion, I would look to rent other homes in this community and not return to this one in particular. Please note we have stayed in Duck at other homes over the years and this one can be put into one word..Tired....

Few issues
Residence had a bug issue on our arrival. There were bugs (roaches??) in the kitchen cabinets and drawers. Also, a few came out in the evening upstairs living room. I did email maintenance but never got a response. Did have to get some insect spray to treat areas. Almost left but decided to stay because was the holiday and has been a 10 yr tradition staying in the OBX for Thanksgiving. I have never had this issue when renting in the OBX. Was very disappointed with this rental. Also, for being a pet friendly home the spurs in the yard was a bit of a problem for our little dog. He actually got a hematoma in his ear from the removal of the spurs. Needed to be drained and placed on steroids. Was not happy, but my family and I made the most of our time.

Nice beach
Upon arrival to the Duck On Inn house our first impression was it needs a good power washing and paint job. Quite dingy looking, and the landscaping needs some serious attention. The interior of the house while out dated and needing some maintenance and a paint job was nice. Rooms are pretty spacious, the kitchen was big enough for our whole family, nice amount of cabinet space. The place was clean. We did have a problem with ants all week in the kitchen. The cable TV and the TV itself in the living room was disappointing. For the size of the living room there should be a much bigger TV. That casework where the TV sits should be demoed and a normal size TV installed. Good location, walking distance to the beach and shops so that was nice. The AC works great in the house. The full size pool is very nice. It would be great if that area under the house on the right side had a concrete slab and the whole area was closed in for storage.
