Asciano is a small medieval town about 26 km southeast of Siena, in one of the most beautiful and extensive areas of Tuscany, the Crete Senesi. The mostly treeless hills made of clay were shaped by wind and water into an almost surreal-looking erosion landscape. Asciano, which is still surrounded by the city walls from the 14th century, is thanks to its location an ideal starting point for excursions into the beautiful Tuscan landscape and to the numerous sights. Siena 25 km, Montalcino 30 km, Pienza 35 km. Montepulciano 45 km.
