About this property
Hot Tub Hideaway
Hidden on half an acre of the finest trees that Pine Cove has to offer, Raccoon Ridge is the perfect place for your next escape. It's a quiet get away but also just a quick 5 min drive to Downtown Idyllwild.
Want to stick around the house? We don't blame you. In case you find that you've run out of cheese puffs, beef jerky, firewood or wine - there is a well maintained gas station/convenience store, Pine Cove Market, a short walk away. You passed it on your way to the house. They have worms and night crawlers if you decide to go fishing at Lake Hemet (a quick 15 minute drive).
If the hot tub's forest view isn't enough - hiking, camping, rock climbing and mountain biking are all a short distance away. Like right-down-the-road short distance away.
This spacious A-frame home is equipped to handle a quiet couples retreat as well as family gatherings. With 1960 square feet, Raccoon Ridge sleeps up to 6 people (1 King bed, 1 Queen size bed, a Bunk Bed featuring 2 Twin Size beds).
Gather the family in the main living space, complete with 55" smart TV...or retreat to the "Den" to listen to music on the blue tooth enabled audio system. The crackling of the fireplace in the Den sounds good too.
Hot Tub? - Yeahman. Wood burning fireplace? - Yep. Wireless internet? - Yes, and it works surprisingly well.
Raccoon Ridge also features 2 large patios so you can enjoy the trees and some big rocks and giant squirrels. No kidding, they are huge. BBQ on the back deck or take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen... either way, you are killing it. Good job. You picked the perfect place!
We do accept pets - please let us know if you plan on bringing your buddy up.

Very cute and cozy cabin. It was very clean. Loved the hot tub on the deck. It felt very private and secluded. We loved the two separate living room areas. We were very happy we chose this cabin and we had a great stay there. The host was very easy to reach and always responded promptly to my inquiries.
My husband and I truly enjoyed the spacious and I’m inviting home. It was comfortable and relaxing. Just what we needed. Hot tub was perfect! Our dog had a great time. Our kids had a great time. It was really and truly perfect for us.
We enjoyed our stay at Raccoon Ridge and our stay was made even better because we got to bring our dogs along. We arrived in Pine Cove about an hour earlier than check-in, but, David gave us the go ahead to head on over. This A-frame was gorgeous and clean with modern furniture (loved the comfy couch). We enjoyed the jacuzzi, the full kitchen, the comfy beds and the quiet. We needed assistance during our stay and David was very easy to reach.
The house was very nice. The lighting inside was a little interesting and sparse. The beds were very hard but we enjoyed how the house was tucked away in the area. Appreciated they accommodated two dogs. Owners were very responsive.
We had a lovely time, at a lovely location!
The beds were a little harder than we would have liked but the couches were incredibly comfortable! The hot tub was nice, the space was fantastic and functional, and the kitchen was fully stocked and ready for daily use. We would totally go back again!
Was in town for a Musical Benefit for a friend in Idyllwild. Furnishings were nice. The mattress in the master is very firm but other than that our stay was great!! (I’m kind of picky about mattresses)
Two friends and I visited Idyllwild for the first time and stayed at the Pine Cove property. We appreciate how attentive the owner, David was. He kept one step ahead in updating us on weather conditions, the need for chains, etc. The house and location were wonderful. The town has many cute shops and great restaurants. We look forward to visiting again.
This house is definitely going to be my winter getaway location each year. The property is very private and quiet. The Jacuzzi on the balcony has a beautiful view. The house has really cool art throughout, and is very clean and well stocked with supplies. The house is spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The owner is great to communicate with as well!
The property is as advertised. Tips: All 3 bedrooms are downstairs and share one small bathroom with no counter storage for toiletries. The queen bedroom has no closet but a medium dresser. No pantry in kitchen but small hutch and side board/table outside kitchen for storing food. We had a very pleasant stay and the host was great.
We genuinely enjoyed our time here at Raccoon Ridge. David was a fantastic host- very responsive to all questions before and during our time. It was clean, spacious, and offered great amenities. The hot tub was our family’s favorite! We thought the location was perfect, just a few miles drive into the heart of town. Coming from San Diego, we prefer to have a sense of privacy and not be able to hear neighbors. This location was just right for that! Felt very peaceful. Would book again!
I would have given 5 stars for cleanliness but my husband got a big clump of long black hair stuck on the bottom of his foot while getting out of shower. the upstairs shower needs a good cleaning with bleach but I have OCD so maybe I'm picky. Besides that issue everything else was perfect. The cabin was really nice and great area. Very quite and peaceful.
My kids had an absolute blast!! Very relaxing and a wonderful experience! I would like to mention they don’t have lots of storage for your own items such as dry goods. They also don’t offer coffee. I bought a few items and just left them there so the next person can have those accessible. But that was a minor thing, all and all I would recommend staying here, it was AWESOME
This cabin was perfect for a girlfriends' getaway! David communicated everything we needed to know and was prompt in responding to our messages.
The house was clean on arrival, and well stocked with everything we needed for cooking, relaxing, and entertainment. The decks are huge and you could choose either to be in the sun or shade at various times of the day.
As others have noted, the beds are hard - and I mean harder than any bed I have ever tried - but we still slept well. The teal couch is super squishy and huge if you can't handle the mattress.
The location was quiet and secluded, and many squirrels and birds keep you entertained. Thanks for the suggestion to visit the raccoon rescue - it was a hit!

Uncomfortable beds, house needs much maintenance and care
Pros- host communicated quickly and allowed us to check in a few hours early. Cons- king and queen sized beds are like sleeping on hard futons, upper toilet ran constantly and had to turn it off at nights, lower toilet seat was crooked and not comfortable to sit on and we were told handyman would check it out and didn’t-house smelled like mildew and smoke, front and back deck needs major stain or paint and there were loose boards and large nail which I almost tripped on.Overall the house felt run down and a shame as lots of potential and location was good. We left very early date of check out so we could come home and sleep in comfortable beds.

As long time hosts (7+ years on the other site) we take all feedback seriously and are happy to help quickly if an issues arises.
Our beds are on the firmer side - But have hardly been mentioned by previous guests as being too hard.
Whenever issues are brought to our attention we always offer to have our handy person come out to help. The issues mentioned by this guest were addressed immediately after their stay. Had the quest agreed to have our handy person over durning their stay we would have had been able to addressed during their stay.

Nice owner, uncomfortable bed
Property needs a little TLC. front and back patio decks needed a lot of sweeping, which I did. Empty drink can left on floor in living room. Indicating poor housekeeping prior to check in. Home advertised as having TV which is accurate. However, unless you already had HBO, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc, outa luck. No normal channels. Nice big bathroom upstairs away from MBR or other bedrooms. Hot tub was great, owner very accommodating and nice. Bed in MBR very hard. Very uncomfortable.

Hello future guests!
News softer mattress as of August 2023!
Guest arrived unannounced 2 hours before our standard check-in time. This is why our home was not ready. Our cleaning crew has been taking care of properties in Idyllwild for 20 years.
As mentioned in the house guide - we have a smart Tv that utilizes apps instead of standard cable or satellite channels.
We are always available to help - if something looks to be out of order please do not hesitate to let us know. We are happy to help!
