Peaceful Shoreline House

This classic Maine summer home is located steps away from a sandy beach in a quiet cove, perfect for swimming and for young children. Grassy meadows surround the house, which has views of the ocean on three sides. The kitchen/dining/living area is comfortable and light. A wood stove can warm the house on cool evenings and in colder months. In the summer, doors open to a wrap-around porch, lovely for outdoor lunches or breakfasts. The first-floor corner bedroom has a queen bed and views of the ocean on two sides. The second floor front bedroom has a queen bed and a writing desk and offers views of the ocean and surrounding island. The back bedroom has a double bed and a single bed with views of the meadows. Twenty-five acres of meadow, woods, and pink granite shorefront invite leisurely afternoon strolls.

A small grocery store is just a five-minute’s walk away. Free wireless service is available at the town library, just ten minutes by car. The wifi in the house works ONLY on the dining room and small study to the left of the entryway and is not reliable for video conferencing.

The island features rocky and sandy beaches, spectacular hikes, fishing, and swimming in a local quarry. During summer months the town offers frequent “Town Breakfasts,” concerts, and other community events.
