About this property
Walk to Acadia! Maine
Farmhouse 2025: 3 night min May-Labor Day
Smack dab between Northeast Harbor (5 min) and Bar Harbor (10 min) this fully renovated Maine home has all the comforts of a new home with all the charm of a historic maine farmhouse. Giant tub and rain shower downstairs, spa shower with dual water heads upstairs, fully stocked chef's kitchen, granite fireplace are among the features to make your stay comfortable.
The home is conveniently located on Sound drive on a 1.5 wooded acre lot with a beautiful flower garden, mature lilac bushes and crabapple trees. A short walk along Sound Drive to the entrance of the Giant Slide Trail brings you directly into Acadia National Park for hiking and a five minute ride in either direction brings you to Eagle Lake or Upper Hadlock for biking. Acadia at your fingertips (and hiking boots)!
After a day of hiking and popovers at the Jordan Pond House, put your lobsters on to boil while the family gathers around the square dining table (seats 8, dishes, silver and linens for 12-16) then its over to the fireplace for drinks, snacks and games or choose a movie from the huge dvd selection... A perfect end to a perfect day in Acadia...
Three second floor bedrooms with 1 King, 1 queen size bed and 1 full size bed and gorgeous linens sleep two each and share a full bathroom. The 3rd floor bedroom has its own half bath and has four twin beds. *Please note: in 1910, hallways were not a thing. The master bedroom is completely separate, but the 2 back bedrooms and the third floor bedrooms are connected by doorways and you have to walk though rooms to get the other rooms. An additional full bath with separate bathing area and claw foot tub with rain shower is located on the first floor.
A truly comfortable and serene home, well behaved pets will be considered.
*Other notes: a max of 2 parking spaces are provided *I price the nightly stay below the average because I understand that you can hear road noise. The town repaved our little two lane road that was once a horse path and now it is too tempting to fly by on it. I have been lobbying to get the speed limit reduced but in the meantime, I have put in noise reducing curtains in the front rooms.

Great location away from the crowds of Bar Harbor, and the old farmhouse creates a warm, welcoming place to come back to after a day of activity in Acadia.
Lovely house that my family really enjoyed for a 3 night stay in Acadia. Was big enough for all of us with comfortable beds and a huge well stocked kitchen. It's a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor which is nice. And excellent place to stay
The house is lovely and has everything we needed. Great location to accessing the Acadia National Park! And a lovely trail (Giant Slide) near the property if people didn’t want to get in the car but wanted a hike!
Lovely property. It was so fantastic and so lovely to come back to after great hiking! Our house couldn’t have been more gracious with her communication, directions, and suggestions!
The house was well stocked and very cozy. The kitchen has everything needed. We were there for the desert island marathon which passed right in front of the house. This was fun since we could cheer on our son running by.
Our daughter called this place "The House of Dreams". It was the perfect place to spend our evenings after long days exploring Acadia. The pictures do not do this house justice. It is indeed very spacious! The beds are cozy and the hot water seemed endless! The house is located very close to all the places we wanted to see.
Great location and a perfect house for our group. The host was quick to respond and provided lots of local information and recommendations! Beautiful kitchen for cooking in and plenty of space to relax.
Easy check-in and arrived to a beautiful home equipped for all our needs during our stay. Amazing kitchen and lots of space. Centrally located to all our adventures beit Bar Harbor, Acadia or Southwest Harbor. Host was super helpful and responsive!
Beautiful fully equipped kitchen with two refrigerators. Bathrooms were very nice and spa like. Plenty of space for everyone. We were up for our daughter’s wedding and there was enough space to get ready and prep food. Parking was limited, owner has a cabin on property. She was accommodating as she was traveling during our stay.
Our family of 4 grandma enjoyed this well-appointed, well-stocked home. We cooked a couple of meals with ease. The house is situated on a busy road, but a large buck and porcupine greeted us one night! We followed the fireplace directions assiduously but unsuccessfully. There is a smaller rental in the backyard, but we were not disturbed by that fact. It’s a short drive to magnificent Acadia.
My husband, two toddlers, and I visited Acadia the week of Memorial Day and had a great stay at the Farmhouse. It is conveniently located in the middle of Acadia so all areas are easy to get to. The house was clean and cozy and would have comfortably fit one or two more families. The kitchen was fully stocked so we were able to eat most of our meals at the house.
We had a wonderful time exploring Acadia in the winter and thoroughly enjoyed this home as our home base. As advertised, beautiful and cozy and Tracey was a very thoughtful and accommodating host.
The two of us loved this farmhouse! The wildflower garden, chef's kitchen, and the most convenient location were highlights for us. Our host was really communicative and responsive whish we really appreciated. We will definitely stay here again!
