The studio is located on the ground floor of Chalet Barbara on a sunny southern slope above Jaun in Gruyere. The view of the valley and the opposite mountains is much appreciated, as it has similarities with the rose garden in the Dolomites. The apartment or Studio is also happy to work by individuals, for example, to do research, u. at the. used, because here it is quiet and you can go directly from the house into nature. Directly behind the house begins the alpine area and mountain region. In winter, the access road ends here.

Mountain valley view

Chalet Barbara is a perfect spot to 'get away from it all', amidst the beautiful Swiss Alps, without 'breaking the bank'! One has to be a careful driver on the narrow, winding road to the Chalet. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Wonderful Chalet

Great Chalet in a wonderful community. Beautiful views and waterfalls. Awesome host. A must stay in area. Hint: if renting car, stay compact. Winding roads are a bit tricky with larger vehicles. But we loved it.

5 -day holiday in beautiful quiet mountains

Spacious for two and a great view with plenty of (tough) walking all around. Quiet and well equipped. No luxury!

Amazing view perched high above valley

We loved our stay at Chalet Barbara. Our host, Thomas, was so very helpful, providing immediate responses to every request or question. The apartment was so well equipped and provides incredible views over the valley below including the village of Jaun. We will long treasure our memories of this wonderful place.

Lovely location

What a great place. Excellent cons from the start with the owner. This was a lovely chalet, in a great location looking down on the village. With beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Chalet had everything you needed and was very clean. Not that we used much due to wonderful things to do in the surrounding area. Only downside was the main bed, which could do with a new mattress. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Magical Chalet!

Thomas is an amazing host, as from the get go he was very responsive & helpful with any queries. The Chalet Barbara is a truly magical place and the family history attached to it makes is even more special! The hike up there is a bit of a challenge with luggage if you are on foot, as we had to climb during very heavy rain - but the views certainly makes it all worth it. Stay here if you get the chance - you are sure to love it! :)

Fantastic views

The property was larger than it looks in the photos and is well equipped. It has the character of a log cabin, very cute and not something we're used to in England. The views from the property are so fantastic. We spent the week walking the nearby mountains and going up any cable cars/chair lifts available. It is a very pretty part of Europe and well worth the travelling to get there. As another reviewer said, you soon get used to driving the mountain roads. There wasn't much open in Juan when we were there but nearby Charmey has a well stocked CoOp and a pizzeria

Tolles Chalet für ein langes Wochenende

Unkomplizierter Kontakt mit dem Vermieter und dem Hauswart. Der Check-in war einfach und das Chalet ist hervorragend ausgestattet für zwei Erwachsene und ein Kleinkind. Es gibt nichts zu meckern. Die Anfahrt mit einem großen Auto ist allerdings etwas anspruchsvoll, da das Chalet recht weit entfernt vom Dorf an einem Berghang liegt.

Traumhafte Lage, Ausgangspunkt für tolle Wanderungen

Die Wohnung liegt am Hang über dem Dorf, mit Blick auf die Gastlosen (Kalksteinfelsen wie in den Dolomiten). Die Landschaft dort ist großartig, die Wohnung ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen. Die vom Gastgeber zusammengestellten Informationen waren sehr hilfreich. Die Wohnung hat uns ebenfalls gut gefallen.

Leider schlechtes Wetter

Die Kommunikation lief hervorragend. Die Anfahrt ist etwas tricki (sehr eng). Leider hat das Wetter nicht mitgespielt. Uns fehlte im Chalet eine gemütliche Ecke z-B. zum spielen. Polsterauflagen im Essbereich auf der Holzbank wären schön. Die Aussicht bei klarem Wetter ein Traum.
