We had an amazing girls' weekend at this cabin! We were so happy with the cleanliness of the cabin and the beautiful view! Everyone had plenty of space in their rooms! We cannot wait to come back and check out some of the other properties!

We're happy to know that you enjoyed your stay and found Lakeview Retreat to be convenient in location and yes, I have to agree it is a beautiful area! Thank you for the kind feedback and we hope to see you for a future stay!
The location is lovely. We really enjoyed the view of the lake. Unfortunately, the cabin is in need of a deep clean. We found mouse droppings in the utensil drawer and the floor in the kitchen was very dirty. Additionally, seniors and children may have difficulty traversing the stairs as there are no handrails. The bath towels are in need of an upgrade. Generally speaking, we really enjoyed our visit.
We all had a great time! Check in and out processes were smooth. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. After sightseeing, we would go to the lake followed by relaxing in the hot tub. The only issue was that the kayak had a hole but the boat was good to go.
It was a perfect fit for us 11 ladies. Quiet and tranquil. Loved the view too!!

Very rustic and nice. AC was good. Check-in process was complicated and took 30 minutes longer cuz we had to drive 15 minutes to the office to check in. A bit of communication could have avoided that. We could have checked in on our way in

The cabin was very dirty and smelled. The cabinet over the stove and ceiling was covered in grease and dust. Inside the cabinets had signs of rodents. The towels were stained and did not smell clean. The couch was disgusting with pealing leather. My family could not get comfortable and left a day early, The only positive was the location was great and the view was nice. My kids enjoyed the lake.
The cabin was great, clean, stocked with tp, clean linens, etc. The driveway and parking areas are steep and unlevel. No one with a motorcycle should ever rent here though, due to the parking situation... . Luckily the neighboring cabin was nice enough to let us park there. Watch for copperheads outside too, its their territory. But the cabin itself was great.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the cabin and found it clean and well-stocked. We do recognize that some of our driveways can be steep and less than ideal for certain vehicles, especially motorcycles, and we appreciate you pointing that out for future guests. We're also glad the neighboring cabin was able to help out with parking. As for the copperheads, you're absolutely right, this is their natural habitat, so we always encourage guests to stay aware when outdoors. Thanks again for staying with us!
The deck views are wonderful, convenient location, easy to find. Needs updated to door number entrance pad, one key with 8 adults was inconvenient. Bathroom needs new shower spigots, restock the kitchen, a thorough overall cleaning would give this cabin a five star review for sure.
Great place for large family to "get away" into the red river gorge. The area really has grown and has lots to do now. I would still lookup the area before you go so you know what to do.
Perfect for what we wanted, wasn't the cleanest but overall didn't bother us, Had too much fun outside. Had strangers on our deck with our stuff on it couple of times little annoyed at that.
Cute cabin, it is in a hillside so there is no place for the children to to play outside. The firepit is very small and has 2 small benches in each side, so only 4 people at a time can enjoy since it too is on the hillside.
We had a great time at the house and visiting trails that were a short drive away. The house was easy to locate and was very comfortable. Some enjoyed the great view, others hiked and played pool and the hot tub was great.
I would suggest handrails on the steps. It was hard for some of our group to do the stairs without one. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice but wouldnt stay again
Overall, its a beautiful property. There is a great scenic view. It could use a more thorough cleaning as others have mentioned. The grill didnt work dyring our visit which was a decent inconvenience for 9 people who brought supplies to largely grill our meals for a weekend. Management did not give a reason for why the grill didnt work after a month. It was nice hut wouldnt stay again largely due to inadequte supplies and lack of addressing that from the host

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the scenic views and the overall beauty of the property. We're sorry to hear about the issue you experienced with the grill. It is a natural gas unit, and there have been no reported problems before or after your stay. Our maintenance team has since inspected it on the day of your departure and found it to be functioning properly, so it’s possible there was some confusion with its operation.
We also want to note that we were first contacted about the issue after 10 p.m. on your last night, which is after our office had closed. A member of our office staff did reach out the following morning, but by that time, you had already departed.
Regarding the cleanliness concerns, we take all comments seriously and have addressed your feedback with our housekeeping team to ensure our standards are consistently met moving forward. Thank you again for sharing your experience.
I really hate to leave a bad review but this cabin was disappointing. It was dirty. There were dirty boot footprints all over the basement floor. There was water leaking in several spots so the basement floor was all wet. The bedrooms had cobwebs in the corners. It was apparent that this place has not had a deep clean in a while. The water and ice maker on the fridge was broken. All of the shelves were missing from inside the refrigerator, leaving us less room for food and drinks. A couple of us got stuck in the upstairs bathroom, when you close the door all the way, it sticks. They have canoes by the dock but they had holes in them and could not be used. It’s a shame because these are all easy things to fix and the place would be great. It really does have a beautiful view, right on the lake and they even have a little sand/beach area which was really nice. The hot tub was nice. It was clean and it was one thing that actually worked. It’s a beautiful location on a very quiet and peaceful lake. It was also very quick and easy to get to all of the good red river gorge activities.
Perched in a small Gated Community overlooking the 5 acre crystal clear Lake. Lakeview Retreat features a Private Dock, private sanded beach! Hot Tub, Wi-Fi, Slate Pool Table, Natural Gas Grill and and so much more. A Great Cabin for Large Groups.
