Melissa and Dominic were such welcoming and thoughtful hosts! The entire stay was super smooth and enjoyable, and the property itself is absolutely stunning. The views are spectacular and the environment very peaceful. We stayed for 3 nights and we will definitely come back!
It’s a very beautiful spot. The room is modern and clean and well maintained, and the grounds offer a relaxing view of the bay. If you’re lucky you’ll see a humpback whale; listen for the spout!
Bowen Island is the perfect tranquil place to step away from the hustle and bustle. Our host Melissa kept us up to date on whale sightings which we enjoyed from the serenity of her hot tub over looking the Salish Sea. It was the perfect getaway.
Melissa & Family were super kind! The view, sauna, hot tub, it was all just what needed for our escape from the city! I think we found our new favourite spot! xx
We loved our time here! The property has beautiful views and you can tell that a lot of thought and planning went into their set up. Melissa was very sweet and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Our favourite part of the property was being able to spend an evening in the hot tub overlooking the water! It’s easily accessible by foot from the ferry and there are lots of outdoor activities, shops and restaurants nearby.
This was our first Vrbo rental and it was a great experience. Beautiful scenery, quiet and peaceful. The June strawberry full moon was out and stunning. The place was the right size for 2 and very nice especially the hot tub and sauna. I would recommend this place to anyone for a wonderful get away. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
We ended up only being able to stay one night due to missing the last ferry of the night the night before. We were so sad since this property was amazing. Great instructions to get to property, easy check-in, suite was very well done and very clean. Port was a lovely touch too.
We had the most peaceful stay we have had anywhere. Sitting in a hot tub with that view is a fantastic experience. Hosts are good at communicating and are proactive and thoughtful. Just the right amount of everything.
It was very relaxing and good vibes. Everything you see on the pictures is available to you. They have pretty simple rules which are easy to follow. I would definitely recommend this place. The only thing is that you have to pay for ferry every time you want to go somewhere from the island.
Very close to town amenities (within walking distance), beautiful view, loved the hot tub and sauna overlooking the inlet. Very clean and comfortable. We arrived in a snowstorm and the driveway was a challenge to navigate, but by the end of the second day it was no problem to drive up and down it. If you are booking in winter and have mobility issues (or rolling suitcases) - you may want to chat with the owner ahead of time to make arrangements to safely get down the driveway if it is icy. The owner was very responsive to all communication.
This was just a beautiful property. The rooms were all new and updated with a beautiful bath. The check in/out process was easy and worry free. The island itself was so cute with tons of little shops, stores and restaurants. It was so relaxing to sit in the hot tube with the most amazing view as well as the sauna. If we could change one thing it would be that the room next to us ( St. Marks suite) was unoccupied the entire time we were there and definitely had the better views where you could see the ocean while laying in bed which we could not. When we first arrived we thought surely someone else will stay there but no-one ever came and since it was open we wish we could have stayed there. Nonetheless we had a fantastic time there and would go back in a heart beat.
Melissa is a wonderful host, helping with any questions or request you may have. The views of the ocean are outstanding. We say whales in the ocean twice in the week. It's very peaceful watching the ocean from one of three sets of red chairs. The sauna worked well and was rarely busy. Local soap in the bathroom and shower was a real treat too.
The driveway down to the house was very steep but fine once you get used to it. We found this to be the most challenging part of the visit. A automatic car (verus a standard gear shift car) is prefered in our opinion to get up the hill as you have to stop to let the gate open inwards half way up the hill. Otherwise, a perfect visit.
Unfortunately our visit was tainted by a serious lack of privacy. 3 large windows at the front entrance and one over the bed had pull down blinds which at night when interior lights were on made everything inside the suite clearly visible to anyone outside. Because of the size of the room it was a literal fishbowl. One window had additional curtains which gave privacy but sadly the rest did not.. All unfortunate because the suite was clean and organized. We will not be staying here again and cannot recommend this rental as our comfort level was severely compromised.

Hi Hal,
I’m sorry to hear this tainted your stay. We’re still a new rental and a brand new build, so we appreciate the feedback while we find our bearings.
We hope the rest of your stay was enjoyable!
All the best,
Melissa
This is a gorgeous property, with one heck of a view! We saw orcas and eagles and deer and really enjoyed our time. The unit was clean, the bed was comfy, and Melissa was super friendly and kind. The hot tub was a real treat, too! I will note that the unit is not really cooking-friendly (there is a microwave and a fridge but that's it), so if you're up for eating in town it's great. Also, the unit we were in doesn't have a view, but the others do so those may be better if a bedroom with a view is your interest.
