Very impressed with the cleanliness and modernity of the cottage we stayed in. Our hosts were excellent and hospital, providing additional touches to make our stay feel special. The cottage is located on the hosts' ranch and is secluded enough to feel drawn away and reserved while only being a 20 min drive to downtown. Definitely recommend staying here as we had an excellent time! Thank you Suzanne and Gene for your hospitality!

Logan, it was a pleasure to host your stay at the WISP. We work hard to make each guest feel like a one of a kind experience on our family ranch. We hope you will come back again.

This property was perfect for my wife and I to celebrate our 1-year anniversary. We had an amazing weekend and are very thankful we found this place. Gene and Suzanne were great hosts and made us feel very welcomed. When I asked for recommendations for how I can have flowers waiting in the room when we arrive, they went way above and beyond anything I could have expected. We would recommend to any couple looking for a romantic weekend in the Asheville area.

We were glad to know you were celebrating your 1st Anniversary at the WISP. This was our first home after we got married. It's fun to share it and make it a memorable destination. Come back anytime.

The host was great. The place is a little hard to find even with directions on the site and Google maps due to missing or confusing road signs (no fault of the owners), but it's very convenient to both Asheville and Black Mountain. The house is perfectly sized for a single or possibly a couple. It was very clean and had a really comfortable bed. I enjoyed my stay very much. A note to allergy sufferers or those with scent sensitivities - I was there on rainy days and there was a distinct scent of damp/mustiness as well as an artificial smell from the linens/towels. It smelled nice but was a bit strong for someone with allergies. Overall, I would recommend for a quiet yet convenient getaway.

Jessica was a pleasure to host. Came in for a short Easter Weekend stay and left the WISP neat and clean.
We take everyones comments to heart. We clean the entire house before and after each guests visit. All of the linens and towels are washed before your arrival, Free and Clear of perfumes and hypoallerginenic.
We look forward to her next visit to the WISP.
A cozy little place that was very quiet. Close to Asheville and Black Mountain. Nice and clean. Did not have cell service on property but there was wifi. Owners directions, which were provided, were needed to find the rental as our gps stoped us short of the location. You probably want to arrive before it’s dark as the last stretch is a one way dirt road without much light. Once you are up to the rental the owners have motion lights to get you to the front door from the parking area. Kitchen had everything we needed. Overall a good stay.

We appreciate your feedback. Before arrival we contact our guests to confirm arrival times. For late arrivals, we will turn house lights on and offer help with any directions or questions. GPS directions will bring you right to the front door of the WISP.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us.
The positives:
Our stay here was overall very pleasant, and we’d stay again. Coming up in February with a non 4WD car, having a place we could get to easily (even if the roads were a bit slick) was important to us. As it turned out, we had gorgeous weather. That said, if you share a similar concern, this property should work well, as it was fairly easy to access. The kitchen was large and clean with plenty of fridge space and good flatware/plates. The couch was comfortable and the TV fantastic. Outside, the fields with horses were idyllic. The host was great, checking-in with us once to make sure details like heat were settled comfortably and then leaving us to ourselves.
The less positives:
The listing indicated there is a washer/dryer, but there wasn’t one we could find/use. There was a locked door in the bathroom that might be where a washer/dryer is tucked. The bed was middling for VRBO-type rentals.
Takeaways:
Easily accessed cute cottage on a family farm that is reasonable on the budget. We would stay again.

Thank you for your input and we hope this did not cause any inconvenience. The washer and dryer are listed as available on site, in the house across from the rental. Anytime guests have questions or issues while staying with us, we are happy and available to help.
This property is a great "country" getaway yet only minutes from town. It is extremely quiet, easy to find and it had everything we needed for a long weekend. We even had turkeys come "visit" us two of the days we were there! As a bonus, the host were GREAT!!
Great get away. This cottage is situated in a quiet part of Asheville. I loved waking up to see the horses on the farm next door. Restaurants and a grocery store were close by. Hosts made us feel very welcomed with fresh flowers and k-cups. Gene checked in with us before and during our trip to make sure we had everything we needed.
