We had tickets to see Midland and Chris Isaak at Ironstone in Murphy’s.
This little place was perfect. Clean, comfortable and modern.
Will be looking to stay here on future trips.
The cabin was absolutely beautiful and very clean. It sits in a quiet neighborhood near a lake resort. Kaylie was very responsive. The studio above the garage was a huge plus. We will definitely be staying here again.
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful place in Arnold. It's a great location, convenient to the store and restaurants. It's in a quiet neighborhood. Kaylie, the host was very helpful, through the whole process. Booking, check in, and little details while we stayed. You can tell they take pride in the property and are great hosts! Highly recommend this spot!
We had a wonderful time staying at Kaylie’s cabin in Arnold! It was perfect. The place was awesome for a family of four, and could even have fit more having access to the in law about the garage. Kaylie was responsive, friendly and helpful and will be for sure be coming back!!!

The cabin was beautiful and perfect for our little family getaway. It was clean and it never felt crowded. Kaylie was an amazing host. She was prompt to answer our questions and made many fun recommendations for kid friendly activities. We really enjoyed the hikes, bike rides and visiting Big Tree Park. The kids loved the cabin and can’t wait to return. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us Kaylie!

We are from out of state, attending a wedding with the reception at Snowshoe Brewery. This home’s location was perfect. It is a beautiful new home in a beautiful, quiet location. It was perfectly clean and very comfortable with beautiful decorator touches. Everything we needed was there. We will DEFINITELY be returning and would like to stay longer next time!

Thank you, Ginny! I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay and would be honored to have you back anytime!
My family (including my two toddlers and in laws) had a great time at this home! The space was perfect with a large kitchen and living space and was so aesthetically pleasing too. Very family friendly (with lots of board games for kids as well as a fun outside space with a little playhouse and rock climbing on the trees!). Close to the main road and 5 minutes from the grocery store which was convenient when we forgot a couple things for dinner. Highly recommend this home! we will for sure be back.
I feel like I’m telling everyone about my secret fishing spot
The construction of this home is very solid & impressive. The property is very family friendly.
We had 6 adults, 4 year old & 13 year old girls & we never felt crowded. The garage/playroom was so much with lots of toys. The owners were prompt in replying to our questions.
Totally 5 stars

Hah! Love the title to this review. So glad you had a great time!
We stayed with our son
(11y old ) & another couple, and had plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen is well stocked to make meals, had a pizza stone, which was perfect for our first dinner, and two great cast iron pans that we used for cooking up meat the second night. The table is roomy and chairs were very comfortable. Heating system worked great, kept us warm all night- we came during a snow storm. When we arrived there was snow in the drive way, there was a shovel to clear the snow. The digital locks were easier to access the house and studio., we didn’t use the romping room, it was too cold in the winter but I think it would be a great space for the kids to hang in the summer. Wi-Fi was strong. Plenty of app choices on the TV for us to pick a movie. one of the couches has electric reclining seats on the two outside seats- very comfortable!! Water pressure in the showers were great! Very pleased with our stay, we’d love to come back and stay here again!

Thank you, Jennifer! I’m glad you enjoyed your stay despite the unprecedented amount of snow.
I’m so glad we gave this place a chance after seeing it was a newly added rental with no reviews. The cabin is beautiful with a modern kitchen & bathrooms. The couches & beds were very comfortable with nice linens. The kitchen is well stocked with your basics; spices, condiments, pots, dishes, utensils, serving dishes, coffee maker & grinder, hand mixer, etc. There is even a hot water spout at the kitchen sink for hot drinks, via the flip of the “hot water” switch. There was also plenty of seating at the kitchen table (up to 8). The living room has a Roku attached & the studio has a smart TV, which made it very convenient to access streaming services. We didn’t use the TV’s in the bedrooms, so not sure about those. The studio, which is right next door/off the back patio, is equipped with a queen bed, TV, bathroom, a stovetop & a mini fridge. It was just as nice as the main house.
The owner, Kaylie, was so nice & very accommodating. Before & during our trip, she responded to messages quickly & answered any questions I had. You can tell this family is probably new to renting out their cabin & have a few little quirks to work out, but have a wonderful cabin & were very open to suggestions on how to make the cabin better. Give this cabin a chance, you won’t regret it!
PS…If you have any issues with the shower water temperature or running out of hot water in the main cabin, don’t fully pull out the master shower lever. At half flow, there is still good water pressure & this solved the problem for us.

About the host
Hosted by Kaylie Milliken
We (Kaylie and Eric) are Bay Area residents, but Arnold has become our home away from home. Kaylie grew up in nearby Sonora and still has many family members there. She has a plethora of information if you are looking for fun, unique things to do! We love taking our kids to the mountains all times of year: skiing/snowboarding in the winter, hiking and biking in the spring/summer/fall, playing at the lakes allll summer long, catching lizards, fishing, exploring... the kids love building "fairy houses" on the property to see if any surprise visitors show up and leave special rocks or shells behind.
Why they chose this property
From the moment we saw this cabin, we were hooked! Arnold and the surrounding area captured our hearts from the moment we first drove up.
We wanted to buy a cabin but weren't sure where. We explored South Lake Tahoe, Truckee, other places north of Sacramento, and at the last minute, decided to check out Arnold. This was the first cabin we saw in Arnold, and the next ten cabins we looked at didn't hold a candle! We love everything about it - a new build, having Kaylie's family nearby, a short drive to Murphys (which holds great wine tasting and restaurants!), a convenient drive to Bear Valley, walking distance to a lake, living amongst the red woods, and waking up to the smell of pine trees wafting all around.
We love hosting and are thrilled that we have the space to have guests up with us at any time, thanks to the separate studio space. When we have guests with kids, the kids all like to pile into the rumpus room for a big sleepover!
What makes this property unique
This cabin was the contractor's own home. He was a masterful woodworker, and you see his work throughout the property. Did you notice the pine trees carved into the wood railings? You can hop on your bike and ride straight from the house to a number of trails.
