Start thinking Summer! Tree shade and Minisplit, perfect for warmer days
If you are looking for a comfortable retreat from busy city life, this is the place. There are two bedrooms and a loft for older kids, aged 8 and up. The kitchen is well equipped with a new stove/oven, pots, pans, and utensils. One bedroom with a king bed and one bedroom with a queen bed. The loft has two twin beds. The property is in a cul-de-sac, making it great for the kids to play outside on their bikes, scooters, etc. The backyard is also vast and accessible. We use a Ring surveillance camera system to monitor the property’s outside perimeter. We require a picture ID before disclosing key access. After you book the property, please send Driver L. for all adults, and you will promptly receive an updated rental agreement with owner and renter information. You will have 24 hours to return the said contract with signature/acceptance.
Winter: Please keep in mind that winter conditions may require chains/cables and or AWD/4X4. Our street is a county-maintained road. Make sure your car is well-serviced and pack a winter emergency bag. When you are prepared, winter weather is a wonderful adventure, so plan accordingly. With unpredictable weather, we highly recommend trip insurance. We are an individual vacation home, and cancellations have a significant impact/ cost. At guest discretion, some reputable companies are AIG Travel Guard, InsureMyTrip, Allianz Travel, and more. Summer: Blue Lake Springs facilities are available for renters for a fee as usual, but we do not guarantee they will be open, as we are depending on county health guidelines. We don’t accept cancellations due to changes in the availability of BLS facilities. If they are not available, you will just travel to lakes and rivers outside the community. Our Calaveras Big Trees State Park is open and gives you access to trails, creeks, the Stanislaus River, and the Sequoias.
2025: Access to the Blue Lake Spring facilities ( lakes, pool, tennis, etc) is granted with a fee ($20 individual, $100 for a group of up to 6 people per day, discounts for a week) payable to them. Snowflake (pool and lake) and FlyIn (larger lake) are charged separately, so you will have to choose one or pay twice. Please confirm I'll provide guest services, or let me know if you need help. Our many trees around the house provide shade and create a wonderful, secluded experience. Summers in the Sierra are the best! If you drive up hill to Bear Valley, you will be refreshed by 10 to 12F degrees. If you want warmer than Arnold, go to Murphys ( 10F warmer) or Angels Camp (15F or more). In Winter, our cabin is cozy and warm. We have a Minisplit to keep the kitchen and living room at a moderate temperature, as well as many trees, an awning, and an umbrella on the deck that provide shade.

We had a wonderful time! The cabin was beautiful. Communication from the owner was amazing. We got quick responses to all questions. The location was perfect! Already planning to come back!
Great place to stay. It was clean and cozy. Eloisa was very responsive and helpful, she is a great communicator. Nice location. We will not to hesitate to stay here again. Enjoyed it.
Great time at the cabin. Eloisa was very attentive. Everything about the cabin is as described. We had plenty of snow we even had deer stroll through. Overall great experience.
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely mountain cabin. The cabin was very clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. The host was easy to reach and responsive. One tip for others: The sleeping loft is not ideal for young children or anyone with mobility issues as it’s a steep ladder to climb into the loft. Was not an issue for us as we didn’t intend to use it.
We enjoyed our stay in Eloisa’s Arnold cabin. It was a great spot for our family. Conveniently located near town and a quick drive to snow. The addition of a SnoPark Pass to borrow was a nice touch. Keep in mind, the ladder to the attic bunk space is steep and Eloisa rightfully checks the ages of guests staying up there. Our 10 and 12 year did great sleeping up there, but it certainly takes awareness going up and down the ladder. We could have used one more bath towel and an additional roll of toilet paper for our family of 5, but overall we had a lovely stay.
We love Arnold and due to unforeseen circumstances we were looking for a place for July 4th weekend at the very last minute. Boy did we luck out! The house is simple in style, but it had everything we could possibly want. It was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The deck was the real jewel of the house and where we spent most of our time. Nice grill, outdoor dining table, and plenty of chairs to lounge around on. The beds were comfortable and while it was blazing hot up there, the house had plenty of fans to help keep you cool. Eloisa was east to communicate with and also gave some amazing recommendations. It was a lovely last minute find and we would certainly rent it again! Thanks for a lovely stay!
We enjoyed staying at this cozy cabin over the MLK long weekend. The house is lovingly maintained by the owner and has all the essentials. It is VERY clean. Heating it was super easy with propane “wood stove” and a wall heater. Bedrooms don’t have heaters, but they got enough heat from the main heater. Located at the cul-de-sac, it offered additional space for outdoor play . There was no snow when we were there, but I can see how it would a nice sledding area outside when there’s snow . About 35 min drive to bear valley. Host provided a snowpack pass (we didn’t use it as bear valley adventure park didn’t accept it), but it can be used at Spicer snow park (on the way to bear valley).
We stayed here in January and had a great time skiing in Bear Valley and playing at the snow parks. The house was in great condition and looks just like the photos. Most importantly, the heat worked, and was straightforward. We've seen other houses, and even stayed in another house in Arnold where the heat was either wood burning, or didn't heat up all the rooms well. The easy-to-use central heating here was efficient, comfortable, and responsive to the thermostat. The beds were comfortable. Checkin was simple and matched the clear instructions.
Eloisa was such a great host. We had some questions before we got there, and she was so helpful and patient in answers our questions. After we checked out, I realized that I had forgotten an AirPod at the house. I figured it was lost. Eloisa actually wrote me back later that day that the cleaner had found it in the linens. She went to the trouble of mailing it back to me.
We loved the stay and would love to stay here again next time we come, whether it's in the summer or winter.

Cozy, warm, clean, just about the right size for a family of 4 (with two young kids) for a few days close to Bear Valley. Host was very responsive and easy to communicate. Overall we liked our stay a lot and would love to come back next time we plan a trip to Bear Valley.
We have stayed at a number of vacation rentals in Arnold over the years, and this one was the best for our family of four! The owners have tastefully renovated this cozy home, the kitchen is well equipped, there was plenty of internet bandwidth, there is a huge new deck, and the view is lovely. The owner was very responsive, kind, helpful, and attentive to detail. We hope to visit again!
Great, clean cabin with a beautiflful outdoor deck. Eloísa was very accomodating and helpful with our stay and with things to do around the area.
The cabin is very close to Calaveras Big Trees State Park, Logging Museum and White Pines Lake. There are a lots of nice places to explore. We initially were planning to go to Tahoe, but we were very happy that we chose Eloísa’s place in Arnold, CA. We hope to be back one day!
Clean kept cabin with a secret loft that sleeps 2. The new deck and view from it was very enjoyable. We ate out on the deck every night. The king bed was very firm but after the second night we got used to it and slept great. Having fans in every room helped cool the cabin down after sunset and the roomy kitchen was nice to cook in. Over all we completely enjoyed the cabin. It was clean, neat and comfortable. And being at the end of a cul de sac there was no traffic.

The location at the end of a street which backs up to the forest was perfect. We had deer stroll by in the morning and at dusk - which was the highlight of the trip for us. The property was clean, comfortable, and felt like home. The owner was easy to work with and we could get in touch with them without difficulty. I would definitely recommend staying at this property.
The location is perfect! The house has everything needed as well. We grilled out everyday and had a fire going one night. The house is perfect. The back deck does squeak a lot but it was funny to us. We didn't even go to any of the blm swimming areas but went hiking. So many hiking spots it was awesome! We will be back!

Thank you for staying with us. We We are glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate how neat you left the place. Housekeeping is thankful too! Please visit us again and ask for returning customers special pricing! Our Deck is well maintained and the squeaky noise responds to real wood being exposed to extreme weather. We will reapply stain this summer, change some screws and consider replacement sooner than later!

About the host
Your host
We are a working family of three who live in the Bay Area. We enjoy outdoors and spend most of our free time working and playing in our cabin.
Why they chose this property
We have been visiting this area since 2002. When time to purchase a property was right, we didn't hesitate in making our second home here. It is as beautiful as Tahoe and Yosemite (and close to these places) but quiet and easy to get in the busiest weekends or holidays. Many local friendly people.
What makes this property unique
Sitting on the deck spotting the blue jets flying from the ponderosas to the oaks to the ciders; deer coming down the hill, or listening to the seasonal creek in winter. The slope in the property is just perfect for sledding when snowy. Most of the time snow clears quickly, so we just go out the door and down fast by the creek.
