This fabulous historical architectural gem is known as the Walter A. Bolton House, designed by the locally renowned Brainerd Jones. The home has been beautifully renovated with modern amenities while retaining some of that historical charm.

It is a short drive or within walking distance of all downtown Santa Rosa has to offer.

The space:
FIRST FLOOR: Beautiful hardwood floors and a staircase outlined with leaded glass windows with ample natural light greet you at the entryway.

GRAND ROOM: This expansive living room area boasts several sitting areas, a chaise lounge, and a chair duo by the bay windows that lend a view of the front yard gardens. Custom-made drapery can close off from the street view for evening privacy.

DINING ROOM: Serve an unforgettable dining experience with unique Heath Ceramic dinnerware at the oval marble dining table with seating for 8.

KITCHEN: The fabulous kitchen is complete with a working antique range, espresso maker, and waffle iron.

BREAKFAST NOOK: Offers a more casual dining experience overlooking the expansive backyard and gardens. There's even a TV if you like your cereal served with a side of cartoons.

BATHROOM: The downstairs glam powder room is located conveniently near the back door, breakfast nook, and den areas.

DEN: Functions as a multi-space with a desk and monitor screen for connecting to your own laptop/tower should you need to plug in while away from home. Laundry cabinet with washer and dryer built around the original brick chimney. There are also two reclining leather chairs for watching TV.

SECOND FLOOR: Ascend the gorgeous staircase and find a landing complete with sitting window corner.

BEDROOM 1: King-size bed with linen bedding, an Avocado Green mattress, a dresser, floor-length mirror, marble/brass garment rack, and a lounge chair by the bay windows overlooking the front gardens featuring custom-made blackout drapery.

BEDROOM 2: Queen-size bed with linen bedding, a Tuft & Needle Greenguard mattress, scroll vine inlay vanity table/desk space, closet & built-in drawers featuring custom-made blackout drapery.

BEDROOM 3: Queen-size bed with linen bedding, an Avocado Green mattress, and custom built-in cabinetry. This bedroom features a full ensuite bathroom!

FULL BATHROOM 1: The bathroom contains a period-correct clawfoot tub and separate stall shower, mixed with designer touches of modernity.

FULL BATHROOM 2: This bathroom is attached to Bedroom 3 as an ensuite bathroom. It is a newer addition to the house created from converted attic space. It features custom tile work, a spacious shower, and interesting angles.

Beautiful home
Bolton house was perfect for our group of six. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, and was beautiful. It is central and walkable to doesn't Santa Rosa and only about 35-40 minutes from Napa and Sonoma depending on where you are going. I would say the only drawback for light sleepers is the road noise as the house is on a somewhat busy corner. However, the host, who thinks of everything, has a sound machine in the front bedroom, which was appreciated. We will definitely be back though!!

I cannot say enough good things about this quaint, lovely home. It’s so beautifully decorated, so much detail in every aspect of the home & a place I will for sure return. The host is very thoughtful & communicative. I’m very grateful that I got to spend my holiday here and have wonderful memories with family there.

I grew up in Northern California surrounded by beautiful redwood forests, doing mountain hiking, and spent many days exploring the West Coast. My husband, Alex, and I are both CPAs and split our time between Florida and California. I love to travel, hike and spend time with our two dogs, Maya and Norrington. I follow the principle that we are all stewards of this earth and as such, eco-tourism and respect for the environment are hugely important to me. Alex and I are happy to be able to share some of our favorite destination locations with other vacationers as well! We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
