Wonderful Long Weekend

This was our second time staying at Herring House. Yvonna is the ideal host and communication with her was on-spot. The home is spotless and inviting. Lots of wonderful memories were made again this year. Highly Recommend!!

Great family vacation

This house was perfect for our large family- 6 adults, a teen, 3 school age kids and a toddler. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was good sized and plenty of seating for everyone. We enjoyed dinners on the deck a few nights as well. The showers had plenty of hot water for a big group and good pressure, and included body wash, and shampoo & conditioner in case you forget it. They also included beach towels. It was convenient having laundry right off the kitchen too. The kids really enjoyed the arcade in the basement on rainy days. The owner was very responsive when we had questions and gave us good suggestions about things to do in the area. The garage had extra beach chairs, which were useful. The location was a great base- lots of good restaurants nearby. We went to the canal and into Plymouth a few times to sightsee, went to Scussett beach (very cold water but nice beach) and Hedges Pond (warmer and also nice). We also went further out to Cape Cod. The house is 30-40 min to all the bay beaches in Dennis- Chapin, Mayflower etc and about an hour to the Nauset Lighthouse. Overall it was a wonderful trip. Thank you!

4th in Plymouth

We had a great stay in Plymouth for the 4th of July weekend! The house is modern with plenty of room for guests. Also in close proximity to great golf courses and beaches. Host is very attentive to assist with your stay. Highly recommend!

College friends getaway!

Herring Hideaway was the perfect place for our group of 1994 college graduates! The house was beautiful, and clean and had all of the amenities we needed. We loved that there are five bedrooms so that we could each have our own space. The game room downstairs was another beautiful space to relax or play pool, ping-pong, basketball and video games - we felt like kids again! The host was a joy to work with and we would definitely return to Herring Hideaway in the near future!

New Year's Family Gathering

Herring House is a beautiful home. Sitting on a quiet private lot that overlooks a picturesque pond, the neighbourhood and town is quintessential New England. It is about a 10 minute drive to the nearest grocery store/liquor store and about a 20 minute drive to the quaint and historic town of Plymouth. The house is larger than it appears to be from the outside. All of the rooms were clean and inviting. There's a Pottery Barn/Williams Sonoma feel to the first level rooms including; formal dining room, chef's kitchen, master suite, laundry area and a half bath. Plenty of blankets, pillows and towels were available in the many closets throughout the house. Our family consisted of six adults (37-64 years) and four children (18 months - 11 years). On the lower level there is one bedroom off of an amazing family/game room (the best we've ever seen). The room has a pool table, ping pong table, five "arcade" style games including a basketball challenge (the kid's favourite). There is also a large comfortable sectional in front of a massive television. Talking of TV's...there is one in every bedroom and a very cool "surprise" TV on the first level family room. There are three good size bedrooms that share a full bath on the second level (small sitting area in the hall too). Quality furnishings, electronics, kitchen appliances and dishes were impressive and much appreciated. Our hosts, Yvonna and Mike, were wonderful...always responsive and generous. Complimentary shampoo/conditioner/lotion were offered as well as laundry detergent and dryer sheets. We all had a memorable time. Thank you again Yvonna and Mike.

We have lived in Plymouth for almost 15 years. Since moving here we've gotten married, had three crazy kids, and adopted two cats. We both work while simultaneously cooking, cleaning, and taxiing our kids around. :)

Why they chose this property

My family and I bought this home which was in desperate need of some TLC thanks to a burst pipe on the second floor that had been running for days (New England winters). We've put a lot of time, sweat, and love into renovating this home. We hope you enjoy the home as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

Herring Hideaway sits a top a little hill overlooking Little Herring Pond. The house is set back off a dirt road in a quiet neighborhood. There are neighbors to both sides but the home still feels very private.
