I’m sorry encountered issues during your stay. Had you brought these to our attention we could have easily and quickly corrected these complaints. It is hard for owners to know something is not working unless a guest relays the message. Travelers do have Full control over the thermostats. They are Google Nest brand thermostats so by turning the dial you can simply raise and lower the temperature. It does not sound like you were able to figure out how to operate. If a traveler is unable to adjust the temperature we can always also access the thermostat remotely with the nest app. We are sorry you encountered this inconveniences during your stay and would have loved the chance to resolve these concerns for you.

We apologize about the inconvenience you experienced during your stay and refunded everything we were able to. Valerie and her group stayed one night and mentioned flickering lights in one of the rooms. We have had this home on VRBO and other STR sights for almost a year without issue and many great reviews by guests. We were experiencing abnormally cold temperatures during their stay that were below 0 degrees. We had electric company come check the flickering lights and said there would need to be an increase in power to the home to adequately power everything together. Our HVAC company checked the heater same day and said everything was working fine but we were just having extreme cold temps outside which was causing the temperature to drop 1 degree. We agreed to allow Valerie to cancel early since they did not feel safe staying until the electrical was resolved. We told her a refund would be given for the nights not used which we did. She was not satisfied as VRBO would not refund any of the taxes and fees they collected. We also asked VRBO to help assist with a partial refund of the taxes/fees but they would not as it is their policy once a reservation has started. Valerie was upset with this resolution even though it was outside of our control. Valerie was upset with the refund we offered for the nights not used and demanded a full refund or a bad review would be given which is why this is here. She was also expecting to be refunded for money that we didn't ever receive as hosts. The electric issue was quickly resolved and all is well with the home.
