We had fun decorating The Urban Pineapple to highlight historical figures and the local area for a stay with funky flair. As avid travelers, we recognize the joy of having a vacation experience and have provided amenities to make you comfortable while exploring this amazing area.
This cute townhome has historic charm and modern amenities. It features two bedrooms, one full bathroom, one half-bath, a fully equipped kitchen, private outdoor space, and plenty of room to comfortably spread out in the living and dining areas.
The living room, half-bath, kitchen, dining area and access to the private backyard are all on the main floor. The kitchen has a 3-door French refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, in addition to many tools and utensils for all your in-home meal preparations.
The dining area is open to the living area and kitchen so you can be a part of the action when eating, cooking, or lounging. Honest Abe raises his glass to this open set up with a cheer of “7 Drinks and 4 minutes Ago!”
The living room is set up for conversation or to relax with a little tv time. One wall is dedicated to the “nice knockers” found on doors right here in Old Town, while George adorns the area above a perfect reading spot.
The mural behind the couch pays tribute to the full-size version found in an alley by South Block off N. Lee Street. Swing by to capture a selfie or a family photo to commemorate your vacation to this colorful historic area.
Below the TV is a modern version of a traditional fire stove. Much easier to start than the ones in the early 1900s but still provides heat or just nice ambiance. The couch can transform into a queen-size bed for additional sleeping space if needed.
Upstairs you will find the two bedrooms, a completely remodeled full-size bathroom with a walk-in shower and rain shower head, and a large new washer and dryer set. Both bedrooms have Queen-sized beds with hypoallergenic down alternative comforters and pillows, as well as room-darkening curtains.
The main bedroom offers plenty of space to unpack your clothes in the closet and/or dresser, a comfy chair, and a full-length mirror. The second bedroom has a space-saving barn door, a dresser inside the closet, and a small desk/vanity table perfect to hold a laptop or do your makeup.
The large mural above the bed is a photograph of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge as seen from Jones Point Park. Visit the park via the Mount Vernon Trail to see the lighthouse and original historic land boundary markers, featured in the framed tryptic on the shelf above the desk, or take the pedestrian walkway to the top of the bridge for amazing views of Old Town harbor and DC. Cross the bridge into Maryland and explore the National Harbor or MGM Grand Casino.
