About this property

Ecusta Manor, Steps from the Ecusta Trail, Walk to Downtown

Book your stay at the Ecusta Manor where you'll be just steps away from the upcoming Ecusta Trail, as well as Lennox Station, home to Trailside Brewing, Appalachia Coffee, and Ecusta Market & Cafe (the market will be open by mid-August & cafe by mid-October).

Bring your bikes, bring your kids, bring your friends! This is THE iconic home of Hendersonville's historic Lenox Park neighborhood. A short walk to downtown, guests can enjoy everything Hendersonville has to offer.

This enchanting 4-bedroom, 2-bath home offers comfortable sleeping arrangements for up to 8 people. The rooms feature 100% cotton sheets with quilted toppers for a fantastic night’s sleep! All four bedrooms can be found upstairs, one with an en-suite bathroom. The second bathroom is downstairs, so please be aware that three of the four bedrooms will share this bath. Three of the bedrooms offer queen-sized beds and one of the rooms has two twin beds. Each bedroom is equipped with extension cords for extra power outlets so you can easily charge your devices, as well as heavy, velvet, light-blocking curtains in case your vacation plans include sleeping in late.

While the bones of this house are old, the kitchen and bathrooms have been updated for more modern comfort. How do you like your coffee in the morning? Keurig? Full-pot? French Press? The Ecusta Manor has you covered and also offers complimentary tea, cocoa and a fully-stocked kitchen with plenty of cookware and ample spices. Grillmasters will appreciate the large gas grill on the back deck. Bring your meal to the elegant dining room or, if the weather is nice, feast outside on the covered, wrap-around porch.

Enjoy your morning rocking on the sun porch or reading a book in the foyer. Take a stab at playing the piano for your friends and family or take a stroll through the lovely neighborhood. There’s a park and playground right around the corner! The quaint backyard is the perfect place for yard-games. The brewery across the street is kid and dog-friendly, as is the Ecusta Manor. :)

The living room is the ultimate gathering place. Spacious and gorgeously decorated, you’ll love coming together to watch a movie on the large smart TV. Curl up under one of the throw blankets and enjoy your evening before a day of exploring the area.

Our home is near breweries, vineyards, downtown dining and shopping, and close to historic Flat Rock where you can find the Carl Sandburg home.

This home is:
*Steps from the Ecusta Trail - a 19.2 mile trail connecting Hendersonville, NC to Brevard, NC. Please note the trail is still under construction with the first six miles slated to be finished by the end of 2024.
*Across the street from Lennox Station where you can find Trailside Brewing, Appalachia Coffee, The Grove Cocktail Bar, & the Ecusta Market & Cafe (the market will be open in mid-August and the cafe in mid-October).

Family stay
Our stay was great! The house is well thought out. Didn’t love the steep Stairs with older folks but it was accurately described in the rental. It was wonderful and really close to Hendersonville which was great for us! The owners were great at responding. Wonderful stay 💕 definitely pleased. Well Stocked with everything you need

Warm Christmas in a Warm Home
This is an extremely nice property we very much enjoyed. There is a great deal to recommend it. Anyone booking should be aware though (1.) it is very much NOT handicap accessible so if that’s a concern for your group this may not be right for you, and (2.) The two bathrooms are not conveniently located for easy use by a group of more than two. It’s manageable, but be aware it will indeed take managing. PROS: It was Hallmark Movie levels of darling. Truly thoughtful decorations and design which will keep you smiling the entire stay. Comfortable beds and towels. Spotlessly clean. Owner was a delight. CONS: If you aspire to cooking dinners for a group of more than three while staying here, know the kitchen is very, very minimally equipped. Pans and dishes for preparing and serving are sparse. The only dutch oven pan wouldn’t be large enough to make soup for a family of four. Bring your own/be prepared to supply what you’ll need, or plan to eat out often.

Comfortable piece of history
Our family of 6 adults spent the weekend attending a wedding at Jeter Farms. The house was the perfect spot to visit the area and still be close to downtown Hendersonville. The house was super clean and we loved the historic feel. It’s a great place to relax after wedding events. We would absolutely book this if we were coming to Hendersonville for the Apple festival. Robert and Emily have created a special place to stay.

Perfect house and location
We were in town for the weekend and stayed at this property. It was exactly as advertised. Very clean, well equipped kitchen, and very comfortable. Excellent location too, very close to downtown Hendersonville and around the corner from a very nice new brewery (Trailside Brewery). Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Girls weekend
A beautiful house. Perfect for relaxing and playing games. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were very comfortable. I need a firm mattress and one of the ladies like a softer mattress. Everyone was pleased with the comfort of the mattresses ( which is a plus when are in your senior years) location was perfect. Close to town but in a nice neighborhood. We will definitely stay here again.

Perfect Home for Visiting Hendersonville
We couldn't have found a more wonderful place from which to visit all of our favorite places in Hendersonville. Emily was an excellent host providing everything we needed and more, and quickly answering all our questions whether about the house or neighborhood or just checking in to see that we were comfortable. The little children, age 8 and 10, happily walked the 20 minutes into town so we didn't have to worry about parking, and the grownups loved the exercise. We went to the Hands On Museum every day that it was open, and the adults took turns hanging out at the Black Bear coffee/lunch spot and checking out the shops. The house is large, fully equipped, comfy beds, and plenty of hot water in the showers. The interior is welcoming, beautifully decorated, and spacious enough that the five of us could comfortably be together or on our own to fit the mood. Treat your family to a vacation that will create enduring memories for you all and book the Anderson House for a week!

Best VRBO we’ve stayed in! Excellent for all ages!
We absolutely loved the Anderson House! Super convenient to everything! All of the personal touches made this house a step above. The hosts were first class, quick to respond to all of my questions and very accommodating. The house was so unique and we loved the vintage feel with modern touches. This house is perfect for all groups from families with kids to adult groups! We definitely hope to be back very soon! Thank you for the very best weekend!

We enjoyed staying in your rental home. It was clean and comfy. It could use a 2nd bathroom on the bedroom level. The light over the stove did not work.

Lovely stay!
The house was perfect for our needs and had all the amenities (plus more). There were a selection of toys already there that our children enjoyed, the kitchen was well-stocked with the basics, the decor was tasteful and carefully selected & the piano was a joy for everyone. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful. The location was great for our purpose - we came for apple picking and there were several places 10-15 minutes away. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

About the host

Host profile image
Hi there! I live in the beautiful mountains of WNC with my husband and three lovely daughters. We are budding homesteaders who love to cook together, garden together and hike. We haven’t traveled much lately as we have been building our family but we look forward to exploring the world again very soon! In the meantime we are working on building our new business in Hendersonville, NC (Ecusta Market & Cafe) as well as sharing our lovely, Victorian home with new guests.

Why they chose this property

We are opening a local market and cafe just a stone's throw away from this home, and it has always been our favorite house in the neighborhood. One day out of the blue it came up for sale, and we knew we had to jump on it. The previous owners did a lot of renovations to it, and we invested a small fortune into even more renovations and making it a truly unique home with lots of interesting art and furniture, and rich, historically appropriate paint colors. We are so proud of what the house has become now and hope to keep sharing it with travelers for years to come.

What makes this property unique

The photos speak for themselves! This historic home is absolutely gorgeous and truly feels like you're stepping back in time.
