This is a lovely, quiet cabin in the woods. The owners were very responsive and the atmosphere was very charming. Very nice place to relax and get away from it all.
We really enjoyed our stay. Cabin was as expected. It had everything we needed and was comfortable. The neighborhood had lots of room to explore. The hosts were helpful and responsive. We would definitely stay again.
The cabin is very clean. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The surrounding area is nice and quiet. There are a lot of lakes and trails a short drive away. The scenery is very wooded. Unfortunately, the property and surrounding area is still being cleared out from last year's ice storm. The trails around the cabin are too overgrown to travel very far. I wasn't able to get down the hill behind the cabin to see the creek. That was a little disappointing but overall, it is a nice place for the price. I would stay there again.
The cabin and property were exactly what we were looking for. The check in process was very simple. I would highly recommend this cabin and location to anyone who wants peace and quiet.
Disappointing on almost every level. I booked the property on the basis of the description of 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms. I arrived Friday afternoon and only stayed long enough to drop off clothes, as I was performing at a music festival that evening. My roommate went straight to the festival for a soundcheck and never even saw the property on Friday. We did not get back to the cabin until early Saturday morning. It wasn't until we woke up Saturday that we realized there was only one bathroom. I contacted the owners and hadn't heard back from them by the time we left to spend all of Saturday at the festival. When I finally received a response they claimed the listing was always for 2 BR/1 bath. Then they claimed VRBO messed up the listing somehow. When I checked, the listing had changed to 1 bath. The owners blamed VRBO and VRBO walked away from the problem. Also, be aware that an destructive ice storm over the Winter has decimated the woods in the area and the property and the area have a lot of deadwood - which the owners informed me of on Tuesday. Our communication back and forth was hampered by their slow responses. In summation, the property description was inaccurate. The owners response was that it was not their fault and we should have reported the issue earlier, even though we reported it as soon as we noticed it they and were slow to respond. VRBO was not helpful.
This cabin was what we were looking for. Close enough to town, trails and the river yet on a nice quiet, wooded lot. Was expecting the kitchen to have more pots & pans but would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to visit the area.
Small, but clean and cozy little cabin. Was perfect for 5 adults and 2 dogs. We really enjoyed the privacy and beauty of the surrounding pine forest. Perfect little bonfire spot to relax around in the back of the house. Had all the basics we needed stocked too. We would definitely go back!
Very Unique. Traveled to Atlanta and Gaylord- places we could take the dogs. Au Sable had a high and fast current but tolerable. It was very nice to be off the beaten path, relax with nothing to do or plans to uphold. Will definitely recommend and stay again.
So my husband and I came back to this rental to celebrate our 19th anniversary. Again, we had a great time! Bonfire, bbq, kayaking, going out for pizza / burgers and just relaxing....what more could you ask for? We really like this place.
Thanks so much!
The property was nice and the location was peaceful. Everything looked exactly as advertised and the surrounding forest was the perfect background. The one downside was that the place smelled of wet dogs, so a thorough cleaning was in order upon arrival, and unfortunately nothing could be done for the smell in the couch. Besides that, the cabin and location was everything we had hoped for.

We were hoping to be a little closer to water.Could have been. Little cleaner.I swiftered the floor and OMG shocked😩
This place was so quiet and peaceful! Also, so close to everything you want or need. It has a real up north feel. The tv is not hooked up to internet, so bring DVD's. Honestly though, at night, having a bonfire is way better! And yes, bring some towels! My hubby and I went to the Knot Hole in Comins for dinner one night. I gotta say, the burgers were fantastic! We plan on vacationing here again for sure!

Not as clean as other reviews, in need of updates
There are cobwebs on light fixtures, cobwebs on walls and ceilings. Spills down lower cabinet, sticky upper cabinets and other food type spills that were not cleaned. The closest receptacle to plug in the only window unit, bottom plug was broken and covered with clear tape. The bathroom exhaust fan sounded like it could fall on your head or take flight and the wallpaper in bathroom was peeling and had mold. The whole place had peeling paint inside and out. And no one bothers to maintain the outside, like clean up, replace broken chairs. All around janky, but you get what you pay for. Oh and the beds were uncomfortable, hard as a rock. The batteries for the ceiling fan remote were missing, so that didnt work. Please clean the stand fan in the closet-disgusting. Also, bring your own paper products. Luckily we brought our own paper towel, plates, napkins, kleenex. You can tell that this cabin is strictly an investment property, no one loves it and it shows. It served it's purpose, but we won't be repeat customers.
