About this property

Lost on the Lake-Cozy Cottage with a Lakeview

The cottage on lost lake is cozy, serene, clean, and has all of the amenities of home, but away from the mad rush. Sitting on the deck and enjoying the 100 ft. Pines and taking in the lake view is the perfect escape from it all. The cottage is on a private road. It is accessible all year round. When you enter the cottage you are welcome by a large kitchen/ dining area, accompanied by a large living room area, all with tongue and groove vaulted ceiling. The cottage was lovingly built by a couple who live on the same lake. There is an immediate sense of serenity, and space. There are 2 bedrooms in the back. One is a Queen iron wrought bed with lovely oak furniture, many drawers, and large closets. The other has very new and solid full bunk beds with a twin trundle. In the living room, the couch is also a queen-size pull-out bed. There is one bath. It is really 2 rooms. The double sinks, and vanity, and washer and dryer are in a room adjoining the bathtub, shower, and commode. This property also includes a paddle boat, row boat, 2 canoes & 1 kayak.

For larger families looking for additional space, we also manage a property next door that could sleep another 4 people.

The deck has a small iron table and chairs to accommodate outdoor dining.

It is a walkout basement, with an adjoining dog kennel so that you can let the dog out in the middle of the night without having to suit up for a walk.
**PETS! Airbnb may only charge you for the 1st pet, you will be requested to send an additional $50 plus tax ($53) per pet. We're respecting your pet, so please respect our pet policy. Clean up after your pet, please do not allow pets on furniture. Please keep kenneled if left alone. If your pet barks when you are gone, please do not leave it alone.

The lot will accommodate parking for a trailer, and a few cars. The entire property is 3 acres. Right off of the road are a number of trails that will lead you through the Hiawatha national forest. You can enjoy them by foot, snow mobile, snowshoe, cross country skiing, etc. Truly a place for all seasons. We would ask, out of courtesy for the neighbors. That snowmobilers would respect the 15 mile an hr. speed limit on the private road, and refrain from making noise with the snowmobiles after 10PM.

The cottage is set up with a phone and internet. There is a tv with a DVD player. There is a collection of DVDs to choose from.

*** There is a doorbell camera mounted at the entryway outside.

Decent place

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home is a decent place to stay.Nice view of the lake. Windows had cobwebs in them. When we opened the door, there was a musty smell. We opened the windows and it went away. Mosquitoes were horrendous. The dog run was a plus. Appreciated the paddle booat.

It was such a great place! It had everything we needed and we're looking for in a vacation getaway. Perfect views, a place for our dog, and near places we wanted to see. The house was so cute and peaceful!

Very quiet and relaxing.

We had a really nice time. We filled the hummingbird feeder and never seen so many at once really enjoyed watching them. Very quiet and relaxing. We had fun using the row boats too. I would love to stay there again.

Great place on the water & in the woods!!!

The place was very convenient, close to Munising and local attractions, yet in the woods and on a small lake. The house and deck are elevated giving you a great view of the water. The house is clean and kitchen well stocked for cooking. We grilled steaks on the grill and the kids had a great time on the row boat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!!

Lovely view

Perfect getaway. Much better than staying in Munising at a hotel with no view. We sat on the deck every night and it was a relaxing enjoyable time. The cabin is lovely and a perfect size for the 4 of us. I would recommend this to anyone.

Totally secluded, close to everything

We spent our 17th anniversary and everything was perfect. The dog run was perfect for quick pup trips in negative temps. We were able to get to Marquette, Pictured Rocks and Miners Castle with no problems even in late December. This was a charming house in a totally secluded neighborhood. We really enjoyed our stay.

Get away

The location was perfect. Close to town and waterfalls. The directions from the owner was spot on and the house was on a quiet lake with lots of peace and quiet. The only negative i would say was it could be cleaner. There were cobwebs in the corners and some of the towels smelled of smoke. Overall, it is a nice getaway.

Relaxing base

I stayed at this cottage while hiking in the greater Munising area and visiting Pictured Rocks. The cottage was great. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was equipped, and the great room was filled with light. We ate every meal on the deck, looking between the trees at the lake. We didn't boat or swim, but we heard other people enjoying the water. The cottage was very convenient to the places we wanted to see. My family and I commented several times on how great this lodging was. Strongly recommended! If I'm in the area again, I would stay here again.

Wonderful clean vacation home

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The cabin was extremely clean and well taken care of. We even received a call shortly after arriving to make sure everything was as expected. I've stayed at alot of rentals throughout the U.P. and must say that this place was by far the cleanest. The location is great. Secluded yet close enough to town. We all enjoyed the use of the paddle boat and row boat. The friendly neighbor dogs greated us each morning while we enjoyed our coffee on the deck overlooking the lake. The owner was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. We would highly reccommend this cottage if you are looking to stay in the Munising area.

Fantastic time in the UP

We had a wonderful stay! Marguerite did a fantastic job coordinating everything for us. The house is very nice and the view is spectacular. Most things that were needed were also provided. Some of the furniture does need updating but otherwise everything was wonderful. We were able to see 12 waterfalls while we were there along with kayaking for a full day along the pictured rocks. I caught a ten-inch bass on the lake too. Our dog enjoyed the kennel and the ride in the row boat as well. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Nice getaway

Overall the cottage was great! Neighbors were close but it still felt private. The deck was a peaceful place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the wildlife. The location was Close to restaurants and waterfalls. All the boats were in really nice condition however the row boat could not be used as the oar locks were broken, missing, or damaged. One canoe paddle was also duct taped together. The hill going down to the water was a little steep- nothing of concern if you are fit and steady - however if your gait is unsteady this may be a concern. There were some cleaning opportunities in that spider webs had not been addressed and some soap build up in the washing machine. We stayed for a week and needed to change out the TP however there was not a single extra roll. Overall a great location and I would go back and pack a roll of TP:)

nice house

The house was just as advertised. Very comfortable. Everything worked (kitchen items, heat, wifi...). Great views from the outstanding deck and house. Quiet. The only negative was that the house was not clean. But as soon as we went in and noticed the issue we just spent a couple of hours cleaning and the rest of our stay was perfect. I would return for sure.

View was beautiful

The view from this cabin was lovely. However we did have problems with the refrigerator not working and had to put perishables in the basement freezer, which was not good considering there were eggs and things that were not able to be spared. The fridge was going for to be replaced the day we left. There were some issues with dog hair from previous visitors, we did not have a pet with us. It's otherwise a pretty area and the boat usage was nice.

Escape From the Big City

My wife and I took our three kids to the U.P. for last Fourth of July last year. We had never been to Michigan before and our vacations normally take us to cities where we watch the Chicago Cubs play the local team for a series and try to take in the local flavor. We decided last year it was time for a new idea. It was a great decision! The forest around the property was thick and beautiful. The property itself was a cute and clean little house with trees surrounding it for the kids to explore in and a view of the lake. We spent our evenings on the deck relaxing and enjoying the lack of the noise that we experience in our everyday life just outside Chicago. We spent our days exploring the surrounding areas, driving to nearby waterfalls and taking advantage of the boat on the property to go out on lake for the afternoon and enjoying some fishing. My son caught a nice sized bass and the neighbors were so nice they helped teach us how to clean the fish and we fried it up for dinner! The nearby town is a nice little place where the people are very friendly. We spent Fourth of July in town and watched the annual parade which the kids got a big kick out of. Then, we headed down to Lake Superior where they continue the celebration with activities the kids could partake in and even a stage set up with a game show type atmosphere. My son and I were picked in their version of "The Price is Right" and even won a prize (but then failed to win the grand prize). Once the evening begins, local bands play on the lake front. The fireworks display as just after the bands finished and it was a very impressive production. We plan on going back in the next few years and will try to go to the same property.
