A perfect quiet retreat or to start your next Great Adventure. Kayak the lake, bird watch, fish, and then start a campfire at night under the stars! Nestled in the heart of the Hiawatha National Forest there are many trails for hiking, biking, ATV riding, snowmobiling, waterfalls, and bird watching right outside your front door.

Downtown Munising is a 20-minute drive to local boating, fishing, waterfalls, lighthouses, shopping, restaurants, rock hounding and Pictured Rocks National Lake shore. Perfect getaway for couples, families, and friends. Also in close proximity to downtown Marquette and Grand Marias.

Cabin includes kitchen with utensils, 2-burner stove, toaster oven, microwave, regular coffee maker, and refrigerator. Fully furnished with electricity, running water and a full bathroom. Charcoal Grill, Table, and Kayaks included. Most cell phones work in the area, but great wifi. We are dog friendly. Dirt Roads to Cabin.

UP Road Trip

It was a beautiful and quiet getaway. The lake was peaceful and the cabin clean and perfect for our small group of 4. The property was also in driving distance of some beautiful hiking and Lake Superior scenery. Highly recommend!

Very clean and amazing place. Just want to let the owners know that a gasket on top of shower might be loose as it was leaky, just FYI as we noticed during our stay. Also, to lock the door back up with key code was difficult at times, not sure of it was just us or what but unlocking was fine. Thank you so much again!

Solo Getaway

This little cabin was absolutely amazing! So beautiful and it felt like we were all alone. It was quite, the lake was right there on the property. There was fire pit, table, kayaks, rocking chairs to sit out in the mornings or late evenings to watch the sunset/sun rise. Just perfect!

Peace and Quiet

Cozy cabin in the woods

The cabin was very charming, nicely decorated and very clean. The neighboring cabins were kind of close and a few cabins down, they ran chain saws all day. I enjoyed watching the loons, eagles and a baby otter on the lake. Hope the little guy survives the eagles. All is all, a very nice week.

Perfect Romantic Getaway

This was the perfect place to spend our 3rd anniversary! We felt very isolated, yet were close enough to hike at Pictured Rocks and shop in Munising. The cabin was very clean and well furnished and had the perfect rustic feel. We would absolutely stay here again. The only thing I'd mention here is that the small electric stove provided is very weak. I'd recommend planning to cook most meals over the fire, and only use the stove for frying bacon and eggs or similar.

On Golden Pond

Mostly good. However, master bed in the loft is not very comfortable for those of us over 70. There is a couch bed on bottom floor, but using it would present other problems. Just be aware that you will have to climb up and down a ladder when you stay here.

Remote paradise

Gorgeous cabin that has everything you need for a short or long stay in your home away from home. It was so peaceful being so remote and the lake made it extra special. We only heard/saw 1 other person driving on the road during our 2 night stay! We were lucky enough to see some cranes and loons. The loons were calling to each other which was so surreal to hear. One loon even flew right over our heads as we sat on the dock!! The lake was so pristine and calm. We ventured out on the kayaks that were provided to explore the beauty from a different perspective. The time we were there the lake was loaded with water lilies which were so gorgeous to see them opening. It was great having the ability to just use the firewood that was availble to purchase right there at the cabin! The cabin had everything we needed and more! The bed was comfy and we loved our stay. Was a short drive to Munising where we hunted down some of the waterfalls , enjoyed trying local pasties (like a hand-held pot pie), and did a kayak/boat tour of the Pictured Rocks. We will treasure these memories forever! A little further away we went to the Big Spring just be prepared our GPS (once we got a connection) led us down some serious gravel/dirt roads. The directions given to make it to the property were perfect since you will definitely lose connection on the way in. Thanks again for being amazing hosts!

We are a newlywed couple that loves the outdoors and all of the wonderful seasons the U.P has to offer. Our hearts are in this Munising area as we both grew up around here and enjoy it all year round. This cabin is our little dream come true and we are so excited for you to experience it! When we locked eyes on this cabin we made an offer on the spot, and 30 days later we were moving in! We love the peace and quiet of the lake and stay here ourselves to snowmobile, kayak different rivers, fish the lakes, explore pictured rocks, and just enjoy each other in a perfectly peaceful property.

This "cabin in the woods" will not disappoint. Weather you are here to see the sites of surrounding areas and come home to make a bonfire and relax by the lake, or to cuddle and watch Christmas Movies while watching the snowfall... it will give you the experience you are looking for.
