LOCAL INFORMATION:
The local surf shops offer wet suit rentals and sales and there are several kayak rental shops that also offer stand up paddle board (SUP) lessons. There are also local whale watching and day and overnight fishing boat tours.
Some information about the area: The nearest airport is in San Luis Obispo (SLO), a 30 min. drive by car. Some of the local attractions include California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. Hearst Castle, built by William Randolph Hearst is a 40 min. drive north on Highway 1. There are numerous wineries in the Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo areas. The Big Sur coastline is about an hour’s drive north. Don’t miss the elephant seals that populate the area along with all our other wildlife. There are great hiking trails north along Highway 1 or at Montana de Oro State Park in Los Osos.
