The home was clean, well-appointed, and roomy. The outdoor living spaces (four decks!) and the nearby common lake access for fishing and kayaking kept us outside most of the week. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature, the home is about 20 minutes from Cashiers and just under 30 minutes from Highlands.
House is beautiful and nicely furnished. Even though it was a foggy and rainy weekend, we enjoyed the cozy fireplace and cooking in the large kitchen. Beautiful views from all decks. Just the two of us so only used master bedroom. Bed was very comfortable and we loved the soaking tub. Host was very helpful and responsive with answering any questions. House was super clean. Easy to get to nice places to eat in Glenville, Cashiers and Highlands. Can’t wait to go back this summer!!
My husband and I went to Glenville for a wedding. Beautiful home and very comfortable! Great game room that would be fun if the rest of the family had been here. Very quiet and beautiful views. One needs to be fairly agile to get to the lake ... we impressed ourselves and climbed down the stairs To the lake :). You can access the stairs from the upper parking area. Driveway is a little tricky but worth it for the view. Lovely home!!!!

Beautiful property!
Really liked the property itself. Very secluded and off the beaten path. Great for privacy and isolation. When booking be ready to give your e-mail address, driver's license, mailing addresses and sign additional documentation above VRBO. I have used my own property for several years as a VRBO Rental and never required my clients to jump through as many hoops to get directions to the house and access to the property. As I said property was beautiful. Bring everything with you because getting to the store is an adventure in itself.

Thank you for the review about the house. The two documents that I send is a rental agreement and pet policy which are very common. This is as much for your protection as it is mine and details what is expected and how to keep from having any deposit issues especially with pets. I have never had a complaint due to a misunderstanding and this really limits any surprises. As far as an adventure to get to the store, I'm not sure what that means? The house is in a subdivision surrounded by lake homes, as is the entire lake. We are close to the main road so you don't have to wind through a long subdivision. Yes...you will find hills and curvy roads, hence the mountains! As always, please contact me with any questions that you might have and I will answer them as honestly as I can. We can't be everything to everyone, but my goal is to minimize any disappointment.

Beautiful, Peaceful Mountain Retreat
This is a beautiful Mountain home with with plenty to explore in the area. The peace you find here will renew your spirit. The house is well equipped with everything you need to enjoy your vacation. Randy, the owner is very attentive to all your questions and needs. This is the perfect retreat to entertain your family and friends. The community dock area is a great place to walk to. You can grill out here, read a book, watch boaters, build a camp fire. The near by creek that you can hear running from the porch deck is a fun place to walk to and explore. The Humming bird activity on the deck was a delight to watch. I would definitely rent this wonderful home again. We use the VRBO website for all our rentals and this place is definitely one of the best!

Shortcomings
Neither phone nor internet would work for most of our stay. This presented problem for our granddaughter who had college work to do which required internet access. The thermostats had upper limits on them which were inadequate for keeping the house comfortable. When will our security deposit be returned?

Thank you for the review.
Let me address the three issues: (1) Internet and phone interruption - The internet and phone problem was due to Frontier line issues which were promptly fixed at 8:30 AM the morning after Thanksgiving Day which resulted in an outage 36 hours of your 4 day stay. I acknowledge the inconvenience and commend Frontier for getting there ASAP. I did not expect service personnel to leave their family on Thanksgiving Day when the issue could be addressed the following day (2) Thermostat Issue - The service company came to the house the same day, but no one was there. They are instructed not to go in the house unless the guest is there. My understanding is the house was at 72 degrees and apologize for your discomfort since you wanted it warmer. The limit has now been raised on the thermostats on all floors. (3) Security Deposit Return - Neither VRBO or myself charge a security deposit, nor did you pay one. There is nothing to return.
As always please contact me with concerns about the rental so we can discuss them prior and during your stay. Thanks, Randy
The house is stunning. I loved the great room setup. It allowed the cooks to mingle with everyone. The home is well stocked with everything you need. It has a beautiful, quiet view of a Lake Glenville cove. We enjoyed seeing the early morning mist hovering over the lake and each morning a duck family would cut "v"s through the lake. Everything was peaceful and restful. Our family enjoyed the fireplace, the game room and the trail down to the lake. We'll definitely stay again. Randy was easy to communicate with and very helpful and accommodating. Thanks Randy for opening your spectacular home to us.
A nice mountain/lake view home with a very safe yard for your pets. You are very far away from active roads, although the yard is steep as in most mountain areas. Our large Pointers enjoyed themselves.
Birthday extended weekend at the lake with family.
Perfect setting for a chance to spend time with family to celebrate my birthday. Plenty of space inside and out for everyone. Beautiful view of the lake with water access just down the road. Enjoyed the pool and ping pong table. Added bonus was the chance to bring our “doggie” family members along.
What a wonderful place to gather and enjoy the mountains. Happily situated on the lake. Made a great home base. Well appointed. Had everything we could need. Randy quickly answered any questions we had about the area. Thank you!
The house is awesome, the surrounding areas are some of the best around. Waterfalls, horseback riding, hiking and a lot more! We will do it again. Randy the home owner made things very easy, and is extremely helpful. Thank you Randy!

We enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and comfortable! The kitchen is well stocked and clean. The owner was so nice and easy to work with. The game room was an added bonus. I would definitely rent this property again and highly recommend it. Not disappointed at all.
We were in town for a wedding and this house was a great fit. A lot of space to spread out. The game room was a Big hit!
The view is awesome. We had a few questions, but Randy responded quickly.
Great view of lake and mountain with the sound of rushing creek
Perfect place to relax in well equipped home on the water in the Mountains. Best of both worlds. A bonus is a loud creek with lil rapids also borders the property for great sounds on the porches. Perfect distance of about 15- 20 mins to the town of Cashiers for anything you need. Check in was easy and property manager was a phone call away if needed . I only called to ask if more days were available. Great location as its close to Cashiers NC and Sapphire, NC. Gorges State park is also close with Rainbow falls. The biggest most water flowing waterfall in the Mountains I've ever seen. You will love this place. Lots of rooms and privacy. Three floors, all with at least one bathroom each and pool table and ping pong table. Great place for a family to get together.
It was so nice that we are planning to make it an annual trip! Randy was very helpful! I like to cook and this house had everything that I needed. Thanks Randy for building the house with privacy in mind. What a wonderful stay !!!👍
The Lake Glenville area is beautiful, particularly during the fall as the leaves change colors. The house is very nice, with three levels, multiple fireplaces and great outdoor seating. There are also a number of trails/ outdoor activities to enjoy in the general area. Our group ended up hiking the Whiteside Mountain Trail nearby for some amazing views.
There was a more involved reservation process than I am used to, requiring a signed rental agreement and Driver's License copy in addition to our VRBO booking. As a post below stated, there was a live security camera in the living room area as well. Overall, the trip was enjoyable and just what we needed for a getaway.

Thank you for the nice review and hope to have you back soon! The Ring camera in the living room is not live and is never live during a renters visit. The camera and alarm system is used during the long winter months for peace of mind. We are fortune that we basically have no crime, but you can never be too safe. That being said, the camera is being removed during season and instructions will be provided on how to unplug the camera should someone rent during our slow season. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about this subject or any other for that matter. The goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and safe in my home!
We had a great getaway on Lake Glenville. The home is just beautiful and so is the view. Randy was very accommodating and we found him to be quiet communicative as well. You’ll hear the sound of the waterfall beside the property from the time you enter the property and a gorgeous walk and stairway will lead you down to see the creek running alongside the home. We enjoyed our time here and found the home very comfortable.
My husband and I, along with 5 grown children enjoyed our stay very much. The bedrooms on each floor, with their own bathrooms and thermostats, gave everyone comfortable privacy and space. The beds were very comfortable and the house was clean. The many decks allowed for relaxation outdoors together to enjoy the amazing colors of the leaves and the rec room was a big hit in the evenings with all of us gathered down there for some competitive pool tournaments! A plus was being able to bring our dogs. There is a bridge, just outside of the house, with many steps to the stream below and trails that lead to the lake behind the house. We enjoyed the exercise!
The cons were that there was very little toilet paper when we arrived so we had to drive 25 min each way to the store to get toilet paper- after the 10 hour drive to get there. Bring your own soap, body wash, shampoo and paper towels too. Also, driving quite a ways to take trash to a trash center every few days was a minus. The driveway is extremely steep which was a surprise but doable. There is a ring doorbell camera, which we would expect, but there was a camera In the house on top of the kitchen cabinet that was pointed to view the family room and kitchen area. That felt like a violation of our privacy and made us a bit uncomfortable. We turned it around but just weren’t expecting that.
The pros definitely outweighed the cons by far. The house is beautiful and spacious and the view is hard to beat! Highlands and Cashiers are only a 25-30 minute drive for shops, breweries and restaurants. Randy, the owner, responded quickly to concerns.
Great place for a large family or multiple couples to vacation!
