Welcome to The Sweet Escape~
Upon arrival to The Sweet Escape you will find a fun snack basket in the kitchen & bottled water in the fridge. You can also brew a cup of coffee with all the extras in case you need a pick me up!
If you need a quick nap, there are three comfortable beds (already made) with 100% high thread count, cotton sheets. You will find this on a very safe cul de sac in a quiet, wide street, low traffic neighborhood perfect for your morning walks~
The Sweet Escape is less than ten minutes from UNCW & fifteen minutes from Wilmington's Historic Downtown Riverfront. You can also walk just five minutes away to a coffee shop / restaurant & only a ten minute walk to Mayfair. Mayfair is Wilmington’s Premier Lifestyle Shopping Center that offers over 80 stores and 20 restaurants.
We have three bedrooms, featuring three very comfortable beds ~ One king & 2 queen beds. We have one full bathroom & a half bathroom. Our living room features a 65 inch smart TV along with a new leather sofa and swivel chair. We also have a step down den set up with new sofa, two chairs and a desk / chair duo. We also have a 43 inch smart TV in the den. There’s a pocket door that can keep the kids video sound out from the other room!
We offer a fully equipped kitchen with all large and small appliances. If you have any particular specialty item for the kitchen that you may need, please inquire and I'll make sure to have it for you. Kitchen leads out to our patio that is set up for relaxing by our beautiful garden / grill area and the fire pit (we provide firewood & kindling) The back yard is fenced in for your small children & pups safety and we have recently added overhead lighting features to enhance the outdoor ambiance, highlight the charm of the garden area and offer the perfect setting for evening conversations and photo ops! There is plentiful parking with room for an RV, boat & trailer (Municipal boat ramp is just under 3 miles away).
We take pride in our home and ensure that it's cleaned & sanitized properly for your stay.

My family had the best time. The place has everything you could want. The beds were all comfortable and the water pressure was wonderful. The fenced in yard was perfect for our little dog. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice stay

This home met all of our needs. It was well stocked. We really enjoyed the backyard. When we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house, help was there in minutes to get us in. The home is centrally located and just a quick drive to Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach.

The house was wonderful. Plenty of room for people to spread out and a wonderful fenced backyard to boot. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Stayed for a family wedding, mother's day celebration and a golf tournament. This house is just great. The backyard is amazing. All of us, dogs included, love hanging out back there. The house is well appointed and communication was simple, effective and easy. I would recommend this house for those that travel with their fur babies.

Short beach trip

The house was just what we needed for a short beach vacation, short drive to beach, medium drive to downtown but having the fenced back yard is a life saver when you have 3 dogs, it’s also nice that there wasn’t a 2 dog limit that so many other places have…we will for sure rent here again next time we are in Wilmington!!

Communication with owner was excellent. House was clean however, it smelled musty. It is an older house and the smell of must got on our clothes and actually once I left it was in my hair. We had a wedding to attend and the location was awesome…. 3 mins from everything and with traffic maybe 10mins. The outside patio was great. It is fenced in, but I couldn’t tell behind the trees in the back if there was anyway possible my small dog could get out… So, I was fearful of my dog getting out of the backyard. It was a very quite neighborhood and we did enjoy our stay..

Clean, comfortable - Great Break

This was our first time in the area and we loved the location of this house. Close to beaches and everything else we needed (walking distance to Mayfaire Mall and just a few minutes drive to local beaches). The house was very clean and comfortable- everything we needed. The house and garden are very private. Really enjoyed our time in Wilmington and would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time in this home away from home. They thought of everything to keep everyone comfortable (extra blankets, lots of towels, kids dishes, even great quality paper towels/toilet paper!). It’s the perfect location, close to everything, quiet area annd comfortable beds! owners are very responsive and helpful. We are already looking forward to a stay in 2025! Spring break 2025

We had a lovely and relaxing stay at this property. The photos did not truly show the beauty of the property. The patio and rose bushes are stunning. I enjoyed coffee on the patio every morning and we ate dinnner on the patio most evenings. Little things made this stay special. There were plenty of towels and wash clothes as well as blankets and pillows. The neighborhood was quiet yet close to places to eat or even have food delivered. Heather was an attentive host. Great cozy home!

We needed a pet friendly house close to our son’s apartment. This house was perfect! Back yard was fenced in and pretty decor throughout. Pillows were really comfy! Host was very prompt to answering questions. Only minor issue was large dogs next door barked every time we were outside. Thank you for a great stay we will be back!

A gem!

Found the place easily, hosts are helpful and quick to respond, place was spotless and the location was great! Nice small back yard with a chairs and a table. I wish we had time to use the fire pit and grill. Hosts were also very flexible and able to accommodate our families schedule. Thank you very much, we hope to visit again.

Perfect!

This was one of the best rental properties and rental experiences I’ve had! The house was fully stocked, the shower water pressure was ahhh-mazing, and the backyard landscaping made breakfast on the patio one of my favorite times of the day. The entire house was very clean. One of the queen beds is a memory-foam mattress. The property owner was super quick to answer questions we had and provided local recommendations. Check-in/out was a breeze. The neighborhood is quiet; no road noise in the backyard, just the birds chirping; but also only minutes from dining/shopping/parks (Smith Creek Park was a favorite for us and our dog, especially the trails through the sandy woods). I’m already dreaming of returning!

This VRBO is in an excellent location, especially if you're planning on going to Wrightsville beach. We dove to Wrightsville beach in under 10 minutes, and there are so many shopping centers and amenities nearby. The place was clean and exceptionally dog friendly. The beds are very comfortable as well. Thank you for making our stay so easy and enjoyable!
