About this property
Beautiful Historic Farmhouse with Gorgeous Views
Welcome to The Farmhouse!
Prepare yourself for a quiet and peaceful stay at this historic property. The original section of the home dates back to the 1770's with many updates over the years. This includes the large open layout living area with oversized Fisher wood-burning stove, foyer, attached garage and outside you will find a frog pond, wrap-around driveway, stone lined fishing pond and picturesque barn.
Immerse yourself in the peaceful tranquility of this hillside home with spectacular views and perfect sunsets. Take a stroll on one of our many walking trails or prepare the perfect meal on the stone patio. End every night by counting sparks from the wood stove, outdoor fire pit or new stars in the clear night sky.
With several nearby attractions, you can use the farmhouse as your home base. Explore the cute nearby village of Middleburgh, the famous hiking trail of "Vroman's Nose," nearby ski resorts of Hunter Mountain and Ski Windham, and Howe's Caverns a quick drive away.
Whether you plan to explore the area or just relax, this home is the perfect retreat.
The farmhouse is equipped with new plush mattresses in each bedroom, and a blow-dryer in each bathroom. Towels and linens are provided. For those big meals, you'll enjoy stainless steel appliances - including our glass top stove and convection oven. There is even a clothes iron and ironing board if you need.
Other amenities include a pack-n-play, extra front load freezer, and a high-end CharBroil Grill with infrared technology.
The mountain air is cool and fresh so A/C is not needed, but a wall unit is available upon request. Wood will be provided for the wood-burning stove during the colder months of November through April.
The property is secured using a Ring doorbell and outdoor camera.

Beautiful old farmhouse in a beautiful location. Good communication with host. Even got to see a few inches of snow during our stay over Thanksgiving week.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is spacious, very clean, and well-appointed. If you want a quiet getaway, but still close to a town for amenities, such as restaurants, gas, medical services, food supplies, etc., this is a wonderful choice.
My family and I really enjoyed staying on the property with a very beautiful home. We enjoyed Middleburgh, New York and the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this location for anybody looking for a nice getaway for the weekend.
We had a great time at this beautiful farm! It has everything you need and very clean. It’s a one of a kind property. Marco was wonderful giving us all the information we needed. We would definitely stay there again. Our first morning we saw deer, turkey and a ground hog.
To summarize it we had a wonderful time. The house was great and accommodate us beautifully great location for where we had to go. We plan on doing it again next year thank you for a Wonderful stay
Place was exactly as described, we had a great time, and would highly recommend. We were inside the whole weekend but there's some great grounds and nearby preserves for hiking/outdoors if that's your thing.
All enjoyed the home and the area. Excellent facilities. Owner was very considerate and supportive. We would love to return again. Thank you, Marco.

Response from VrboOwner on 22 June 2023
Thank you for staying with us. We strive to make the best experience for each off our guests. It was also quite wonderful to have the previous owners and custodians of the famous Vroman's Nose enjoy the Farmhouse! Until next time!
Beautiful home with great amenities. Host was very responsive to our needs. It was unusually hot while we were there and Marco quickly responded by installing window AC units for our comfort.
This is the second time we've stayed at the farmhouse, and once again everything was fantastic! Everything worked well, was clean, and we had a great time. Will definitely book again. Thanks so much!
We gathered for a Memorial Service for our loved one from all over the country. The farmhouse was a perfect place to gather to share memories, laughs, and shed a few tears. The open living space was great for meals & games. It is off the beaten path but a great spot to unwind and recharge. Town of Middleburgh is not far away with some great spots to eat. Space was better than described and we can't wait to reserve it again.
This is a wonderful property with ponds and trails through the forest. Our group enjoyed the open gathering area with plenty of space for kids to play and to enjoy playing games together. The property manager was very responsive to messages. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
I traveled with my 80-yr old mom and elementary school aged kids to attend a local wedding. The house was perfect - we were able to cook and visit in between events. Loved the open floor plan with a large table and couch. It was accessible for my mom's needs with first floor bedrooms and walk-in shower, and handles to help get up stairs. The kids loved exploring the pond and tadpoles. The views from the outdoor seating area are gorgeous. Highly recommend!
We love this place! Everything is always in order just as described, very responsive for any questions we've had. This is the third time we've booked the farmhouse and we certainly will again! Thanks so much,
We are a multigenerational family of 10 from NYC, Maine and Florida. The Farmhouse was the perfect spot to celebrate all the holidays in one week, including birthdays! It easily accommodated our large group, there was plenty of room to cook, eat together and hangout as a family. We can’t recommend it enough for family gatherings, as wonderful memories were made!
We stayed here for Half of Fame induction weekend, and everything was great. Peaceful and quiet, saw several deer right outside the house, including several turkeys and a couple beavers. The house was very well organized, and very clean. Great communication from Marco, and check in was as simple as putting a code in the door. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Cooperstown.
Property was absolutely beautiful from star gazing to watching the sunset. The kids enjoyed running around and also fishing in the pond. Howes Caverns are close by as well as Mine Kills Park. Toen has a community pool to visit too. Made smores at the fire pit and played card games outside. We had a lovely time.
The kids were mesmerized by the little pond with so many baby fish. The adults were happy with the space available for different activities. There were several areas to have the kids play in while adults visited. The children and adults both commented how beautiful the scenery and location was. We couldn’t have asked for anything to be any better. Marco was always available with fast answers and hell as needed. Definitely will make this family event happen again!!Thank you!!

About the host

We have been enjoying this wonderful region of upstate New York for nearly 2 decades. We would love to share the slice of paradise with others.
Why they chose this property
This property offers the perfect mix of peace and tranquility with access to many nearby sites and activities in Beautiful upstate New York.
What makes this property unique
This home has many wonderful attributes. For example, the pond across the street was handbuilt over the course of a decade. The same is true for the frog Pond and Stonewall that runs along the side of the house. The barn is as picturesque as it gets. The original section and foundation of the house is nearly 300 years old. The expensive surrounding land allows for excellent hikes in the warmer months and snowshoeing and sledding in the winter.
