Amazing setting and location. Was a perfect home base for our trip to the area. Short drive to shops, restaurants and beaches. House and guesthouse were both clean and well stocked with anything we needed. Beds and even the pull out couch were all very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place.

Our stay at Bison Acres was excellent - from start to finish, we were able to make it feel like home! It had lots of great amenities and the area was close to everything that we wanted to do over the long weekend. It was also nice not having neighbors that close by - felt very private and quiet! Exactly what we were looking for.

The property is beautiful and quiet. There are techncially houses on each side, but they were distant and out of view. Most of the time, it felt very secluded. From both the front deck and the side patio, all you see is nature. It was very relaxing. There was also plenty of space for the kids from both our families to run around and for us to play yard games. The hot tub was a great way for all the grownups to relax after the kids went to bed. It was very clean and quite spacious.We did had a couple hiccups with the code to get in the house and with the air conditioning in the one area. The host was very responsive though, and everything got figured out. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Great place

We loved our stay at your Vacation rental. Plenty of room for everyone, with lots to do. The hot tub and fire place were perfect for the cooler weather. Great location with lots to do near by. Thank you, and we will definitely come back.

We experienced a few significant challenges during our stay. The HVAC system wasn't working properly when we arrived; we reported it to the owner, but it wasn't successfully resolved until our final night. More importantly, we were involved in a hit-and-run accident while attempting to turn left into the property. The entrance is quite dangerous, and there is a critical need for clear safety signage, such as a "Hidden Driveway" sign, to warn oncoming traffic. The house itself is nice, but it could use a little extra maintenance. When we arrived, there was a noticeable musty smell, likely because the property had been closed up for a while. Fortunately, the odor aired out and cleared up after a few hours, but it wasn't the best first impression.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were involved in a vehicle accident while turning into the property. However, the driveway is clearly visible and already has two signs marking the entrance. Additional signage is not required at all. All guests are expected to follow traffic laws, use sound judgment when entering the driveway, and never drink and drive. The property does not advertise central air conditioning. It has three independent AC units that operate separately and are not controlled by the thermostat. A handyman was sent to the property and verified that all units were working properly. The reported issue resulted from repeatedly attempting to operate the independent units through the home’s thermostat. The home is served by a private well, so there no smell to be alarmed about. This is normal for a well system and does not indicate a water-quality problem. To be clear, none of the concerns described resulted from defects with the property. They involved user error, basic judgment and safety issues, or normal characteristics of a home served by a private well—not failures by the property owner or management.

Very quiet, peaceful, private and well-appointed place to stay. The accommodations are so nice. Just a couple things. Our access code didn't work when we arrived after 5pm on a weekday for our first night. It was difficult contacting the host but she finally called back 1-1/2 hours later and re-programmed the keyless entry remotely. The next day we returned from an outing before 5 pm and once again our code didn't work. During that phone call, we were given another code that never caused an issue afterward. I’ll admit, my patience wore thin pretty quickly that first day—especially spending the first few moments of our stay staring at the outside of the rental we had paid for, unable to experience the inside while waiting for the host to communicate with us. But we got better acquainted and much more cordial when the issue happened again the next day and we figured out the keyless entry could be faulty. And I was grateful her solution solved the issue for good. The other minor detail is there are no steak knives or small kitchen knives for cutting veggies and such.All that said, I would highly recommend this place for a peaceful, very nice, safe stay. It is a great location to visit area features in many directions and then return to such well-appointed, clean comfort. We didn't get a chance to dine at St. Ambrose Cellars. But The Roadhouse Mexican Bar & Grill is an excellent place to eat!

The property is everything you could ask for for you and your buddies. The fire pit and hot tub were the highlights of the weekend. The property has tons of room and they thought of everything. You will not be disappointed!

Guys Golf Trip

There was 8 guys that stayed at the property and it was perfect for us all. The property was very clean and updated. It was able to sleep us all comfortably. We were able to hang inside and outside. Family Vacation at Bison Acres

Me and my family had a fantastic time at Bison Acres. We felt very welcome with an easy check-in and a welcome gift from a local vendor. They were quick to respond to a question about the hot tub and even serviced the hot tub to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. We enjoyed the hot tub, firepit, fully stocked kitchen, yard games, smart tv and wonderful outside space (especially the porch and porch swing). It is a great place!

Bison Acres

The property itself was fantastic, very private with plenty of space. The space easily hosted 15 people. The sleeping arrangements were fairly tight for 15 people, but it would be reasonable for 10-12 single people or 7 couples to stay, given the need to share beds. Plenty of towels/linens/pillows etc. There was notable trash under beds that seemed to have been pushed there, which did not detract from the experience. The hot tub cleaning solution was not pre-measured as started but was easy to do. Plenty of cooking utensils and pans. Host was very responsive and easy to reach. Truly a fantastic overall property as a getaway. Would highly recommend and return if had a large group again.

Best get away trip!

You will not be disappointed here! I came up with my buddies and our girlfriends, 12 people total. There was more than enough room. The pictures do not do this place justice the property is so beautiful and big. The house is extremely organized and clean. I was expecting it to be the normal up north house with bugs everywhere and a little dirty but everything was spotless. They provided a lot of toilet paper and paper towels. They also have any yard games you can think of which was so much fun to do with our group. They also have a big sign out front with lights on so when we came back to the house at night it was very easy to spot! We would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!!

Lots of space to relax, close to skiing

Bison Acres is a cute cabin with second building that can sleep 6-8 in each building easily. There is one bathroom per building so it worked great for the 6 of us - the kids got their own space. The on site laundry is great. The property is organized and the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and gadgets to make a meal. Bring soap. And TP if staying longer than a weekend or with lots of people. This property has streaming!!! Netflix etc. 9 miles to Crystal. 5 miles to Benzonia. 30 minutes to TC. Nice hot tub. St Ambrose distillery is one mile down the road. Had a great dinner in one of their outdoor igloos. The first time you approach the property, it's super hard to find. You have to spot the address on the mailbox on the other side of the street while driving on a fast road. The owners really need to put up a sign that says "Bison Acres." Honestly, that's what I was looking for and would have been helpful. We never spotted bison during our stay. 😜

This was a really cool, quiet place to stay with a larger group that had a little bit for everyone- hot tub, games, big backyard, easy access to local towns for groceries and good restaurants! Everything was in working order when we arrived and the accommodations were top notch. The only slight downside is the main house didn’t have central air so it was a bit warmer at night (in the summer it might be too hot for some people). Overall, aside from that, no complaints at all about the property! Would definitely recommend
