About this property

Josies Joint-New for 2024 Newly built only 3.5 Miles off Blacktop

Nestled with the wild horses this newly constructed cottage is perfect for newlyweds, empty nesters, romantics or small families. Located in Swan Beach, directly across the street from the federal wild life preserve and the closest community to the black top, gives quick access to shopping, restaurants and entertainment.

Linens and towels are NOT provided.

House is accessible by 4WD vehicles only. Vehicles MUST have a county-issued Beach Parking Permit properly displayed to park on the beach from the last Saturday of April through the first Saturday in October. ONE beach parking permit available for a $100.00 refundable deposit when pass is returned.

If you need a little extra room please check out our other VRBO listing # 3108216, "Mellow For Shore". These two homes are next door to each other and would be great for a family gathering.

***Our cancellation policy is strictly enforced between Memorial Day and Labor Day. We are willing to give options but no refund will be issued***

**You are choosing to rent a house in a wooded setting. Remember, there are bugs of all kinds and then some. We will not entertain complaints of mosquitos, spiders, snakes....etc. We have midges, they are attracted to light. To keep them out of the house keep outside lights off when not in use. They are harmless. They do not bite or sting. If they get in the house please DO NOT SWAT at them and leave black streaks on the ceiling. Just leave them alone. In most cases they will be dead by morning. We do treat the house on a regular basis. If you see a dead bug that means our pest control is working. **

Our beach house is rented and maintained by US. We do not accept guests under 4 stars. Sorry bad past experience.

Dogs only. Pre-approval required. Dogs must be crated when left unattended. Poop bagging is mandatory. Not allowed on furniture or beds.

Personal grills, smokers, griddles or boilers are not to be used on the property. No ORV permitted. Sorry, bad past experience.

House was a 5 min walk from the beach. Quiet neighborhood. GPS doesn’t bring you on the closest way. Stay on beach until you get to Canary rd. Everything on one level, great for just me, my wife and our dog. Wild ponies were in front yard and around the house just about ever day.

The house was perfect for my husband and I and our small dog. The house is close enough to the beach that we were able to come back and take care of our dog and leave our things on the beach. We had wild horses come several evenings and graze under and around the house! We already booked again for next year!!! Kim Jim respond to questions and were very helpful!!! Highly recommend!!!!

The family really enjoyed our time, the horses were a hit. We also like enjoyed driving on the beach and being able to just park and walk in without walking long distances.

Just what we needed

My wife and I wanted a quiet calm week to enjoy the beach at our pace. We were able to do that and enjoy quiet evenings at the rental. Perfect location for us on the 4X4 beach and away from all the hustle and bustle of the OBX towns. Highly recommend this property and the owner! Top Notch!

Perfect location in the 4x4 area. Quiet evenings. My wife was ecstatic over the property cleanliness. Easy beach access. Horses walked through the yard. Our host was a terrific communicator and quick to answer any questions prior to our stay. One of the top rentals we have stayed in.

Amazing!

The cottage was small and adorable! Perfect for couple or small family. Drive to house was an adventure in itself and 4WD is definitely needed! Wild horses came and visited us right at the house!!! Owners were amazing and attentive. Absolutely perfect.
