About this property

Bar Harbor House in town owned by local family Acadia entrance around the corner

Bar Harbor House is newly constructed, spacious, and at the edge of downtown. The house is a 5-minute drive to Acadia National Park entrances, Carriage Roads, and waterfront. Eagle Lake Road is known for frequent sightings of Bald Eagles and Peregrine Falcons nest nearby. Kebo Valley Golf Course is just across the street from the Bar Harbor House. Kebo Valley is the 8th oldest golf course in the United States. Traces of historical influence are notable and have been preserved. Conveniently located with parking for two/three vehicles helps to avoid searching for parking spaces, meter fees, and frustration. There is a secure garage for storing bikes, kayaks, fishing supplies, golf gear, and more. The Bar Harbor House will accommodate up to 8 guests and is a special place for family and friends to be together. Many lasting memories are made here! My family is six generations with a lot of local history and stories to tell. Family lightkeepers include Jaurel and Nana Belle Pinkham on Egg Rock Light at the entrance of Bar Harbor. Special and hidden areas of Acadia are well known and local tips willingly shared!

This is a lovely, comfortable, very clean home in a great location—just minutes from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia. Deb thought of everything to make the home feel welcoming. It was so helpful to have the refrigerator stocked with the basics, a frozen lasagna, and snacks and coffee for our stay. Deb was caring and kind, and she and Dan were available to help if needed.

Most thorough VRBO we have used

The house was absolutely immaculate, with every detail meticulously cared for. Deb was great, a true resource of local knowledge whose suggestions for exploring the area were very helpful. Her recommendations truly elevated our trip! The location was ideal, offering easy access to the heart of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Plus, the "quiet side" was just a short, scenic drive away, offering a nice change of pace. We especially loved the convenience of being able to walk directly downtown. This spot is a five-star, well appointed, and cared for property with a very responsive owner. This was the best vacation rental we have experienced with lots of thought and care showing throughout the house and with communication.

Family trip

Great location. Clean, comfortable, modern house. Fantastic hosts.Everything exceeded our expectations. The house was well stocked with dishes, glassware, cookware and supplies including some fresh food and bottled water. There were notebooks and pens in every room, a closet with toys and musical instruments, and plenty of reading material about Bar Harbor, Acadia, and the area.Deborah and Dan provided detailed information about the house, appliances, and check-out procedures. We decided to visit the "Quiet Side" based on their recommendation and enjoyed a great hike on the Wonderland and Ship Harbor Trails. We enjoyed our stay at the Bar Harbor House and recommend it to everyone who is planning to visit Acadia.

We loved our time spent at Deb and Dan's Bar Harbor home. They were amazing, gracious hosts and we could not have asked for a better place to stay. A great stay in Bar Harbor

Deb was incredibly welcoming and the house is stocked with anything that you can possibly need. It was spacious for our group of 3 families. The location can't be beat -- close enough to walk or bike into town and near the entrance to the carriage trails. We come to Bar Harbor every year and I plan to be back to Deb's house!

She is an outstanding host who help provide a wonderful experience and a truly made our trip memorable. Deb was very responsive to all communications being available day and night by phone, texting and emailing. Her response was always quick and offered her assistance. The house was exceptional and well maintained. Immaculately, clean and comfortable. The couches and the reclinerswere so comfortable none of us wanted to get out of them. The interior decorating design was very pleasant. Enjoyed seeing Acadia pictures. Mattresses So were so comfortable and insured a good night sleep. We really appreciated the ironed pillowcases. Deb goes above and beyond with welcoming you into the home. Her hospitality and thoughtfulness, providing food for breakfast and dinner, treats and snacks and water, coffee and coffee creamer, hot chocolate, tea and a fully stocked pantry. Deborah is a wealth of information. She has a wall providing maps and pamphlets and a homemade binder for for exploring in Bar Harbor providing a list of boat tours, hiking trails, restaurants, etc. I utilized much of the information and the recommendation from a local standpoint of view. The location was absolutely perfect so convenient a short walk to town and from there, you could also utilize the free shuttle to Acadia. Great House, Great Host

This house was great for our vacation. It's close enough to downtown to do things there, but far enough away not to be affected by the crowds of tourists. Deb was always asking if we needed anything. The house has books of information about the island from a local's point of view. We loved our stay.

Great location made for a amazing trip!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the home. The newly constructed home was spotless and the owner provided some much hospitality! We can’t thank Deb and Dan more. The location was seconds away from Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor, which made it super convenient for a 4am wake up to see the sun rise at Cadillac Mountain or for dinner along the water.

Family Long Weekend Trip

This was ideal for our family of 5 adults staying for a long weekend. It is a brand new and very clean house with comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen. Host Deb took care of small details to make the rental feel like home and was accessible during our stay to answer questions. Location was great - it was an easy walk to downtown Bar Harbor waterfront and a manageable bike ride to the carriage trails in Acadia. We would definitely stay here again.

Near Acadia National Park

Our family had a very enjoyable time visiting the Bar Harbor area. We visited Acadia NP many times during our stay, enjoyed the seafood, Farmers’ Markets, watched a sunset from Cadillac Mtn, even went to Campobello NP in Canada one day. The LuLu Lobster boat tour was especially enjoyable for our family. We were happy to have a home with air conditioning as some days were above normal temps !! Only surprise we had, was the 20 steps up stairs from garage area to living area level. Our hosts were fantastic with providing some food & condiments, plus all cooking supplies we needed !!

Bay Harbor Vacation

Deb our host was fantastic. Place was well stocked with everything anyone would need. If you forget anything she has it. Clean and spacious home. Deb was very helpful in directing us to out of the ordinary sights which were excellent. Recommended restaurants, sights to see, etc were all great. Walking distance to downtown which is nice because you can take the shuttle. The parking in the Park if you get there a bit late in the am can be a bit of a struggle.

Why they chose this property

Eagle Lake Road is appropriately named for all the right reasons! We often see eagles and falcons flying overhead and nesting nearby. Deer, wild turkeys, and other wildlife are frequently spotted in the back yard. Bar Harbor House is on the edge of downtown and is an easy 10 minute walk to the village. Bar Harbor House is located in the neighborhood where I grew up. Many of my family members and friends still reside there.

What makes this property unique

What makes our house unique is feeling welcome and immediately comfortable when you arrive. Enjoying the island and time with loved ones will leave unforgettable experiences and cherished memories. We are centrally located within 5 minutes of Acadia National Park entrances, Carriage Roads, Kebo Valley Golf Course, and waterfront. You can easily walk into town and not worry about parking. The back yard is a cross road for deer, turkeys, and other wildlife. The Bar Harbor House is fully stocked. There is no need to stop and shop along the way. You will have plenty of startup groceries and a meal waiting when you arrive. There are brochures, maps, local information, and current island activities available at the house.
