Welcome to Birch Cottage, our family's home away from home! We hope you fall in love with it as much as we have. This family cottage fits us perfectly with room to spare for extra family members and friends. It is a special place to make lifelong memories. The house is nestled in the Pinehurst Shores neighborhood outside Boyne City, Michigan in a quiet, peaceful, setting with access to beautiful Lake Charlevoix and beach just a short walk away. Located in a gorgeous, quiet neighborhood neighboring Young State Park. Beautiful local "secret" beach (Kim Park) at the end of Nelson Road (an easy walk from the house). Walking or biking distance to downtown Boyne City on the paved path.

We chose Boyne City as our second home because we felt it is a perfect blend of all the best things to experience: beauty of nature, fun, relaxation. BC is near other wonderful destinations like Charlevoix, Traverse City, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Leland, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, and Mackinac Island. From strolling the quaint downtown shops and restaurants, browsing an art fair, festival or farmer’s market, fishing, golf, boating and water sports on Lake Charlevoix in the summer, to exploring the many wineries and trails in the fall to skiing, tubing and ice-skating in the winter, there is something for everyone no matter the season. Most recently, Boyne Mountain’s new Skybridge, the world’s longest timber-towered suspension bridge. Offering Panoramic valley views and extensive light displays, definitely a camera pleaser and must see!

We hope our home offers you and your family all that you need and we have kept it as welcoming and authentic as a Michigan cottage could be but with updates and modern amenities.

Our cozy but spacious home offers 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Natural light-filled living room with large natural fireplace opens to dining area and kitchen with new gas stove and new refrigerator. Mudroom has new Maytag front load washer and dryer. Main level bedroom has a full bed and large closet. Upper level has 2 spacious rooms. Main bedroom has a queen bed and small office area. Third bedroom has two twin beds and two pull out trundle beds. 2 Smart TVs and high-speed wireless internet allows access for work or entertainment. New floors throughout. Bathrooms have been totally renovated. Central air and heat ensure comfortable temperature year-round. A large deck, Weber gas grill, dining table and chairs and bonfire pit make for lovely outdoor entertaining and dining. Nearby Young State Park offers additional beach area, biking and hiking trails.

A wonderful place to stay and enjoy all Pure Michigan has to offer!

Lovely Cottage

This little cottage is the perfect location with easy and quick access to downtown Boyne, Charlevoix, and Petosky. Our three children (ages 1-4) had so much fun here as well. The house setup was perfect for us with one of the bedrooms having two twin beds.

Boyne City stay

Stayed for a week with my 2 teenage boys and my 80 year old mom. House was very nice, very clean. Location was good, it was just a couple miles from Boyne City, walking distance to a beautiful sandy beach on Charlevoix lake. Many things to do and see in the area. Definitely would stay here again.

Great stay at the Lake!

The cottage was great! We spent a long weekend golfing, playing horseshoe’s, and swimming in Lake Charlevoix! The beach was less than half a mile from the cottage and it was awesome. Sandy beach with a sand bar that stretched all the way to the buoy. The cottage is located very close to Young State park and we spent our mornings walking the trails. Highly recommend!!

Perfect Escape

This home was perfect. Very clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of space for me, my husband and father, with room to spare! The kitchen was nicely stocked with everything needed. It was a short walk to the beach, and easy access to Young’s State Park. Boyne City was close with plenty of stores and things to do. We had so much exploring the area!

Charming Chalet steps from Lake Charlevoix

Charming chalet that had all the amenities we needed. We got married in the area and this place happened to be centrally located to all the events that occurred. The chalet was well prepared by the wonderful hosts. They also had a kitchen with ample spices and condiments, laundry needs, and even a few beverages! Was the perfect touch to the stay. Will hopefully be back to take in all the nature that surrounds.

Peaceful getaway to Birch Cottage

Just what we needed. Peaceful cottage in the woods; 5 minute walk to lake. Ventured to nearby towns: Charlevoix, Petoskey, Harbor Springs. Also.. Boyne City’s Farmers Market, Boyne Mt golf course and Skybridge.. and Charlevoix Coffeehouse is a must visit!

Nice place to get away

This location is perfect for Boyne Mountain in my mind. The cost of being ONSITE is way to much compared to this rental. This cabin is perfect for being near a town like Boyne City. It only takes 15-20 mins to get to the scopes. And, you pass by gas stations, Family Fare, restaurants to stock up for cooking at the house. Lets not forget the DARN ice cream and candy shops. :)

Please know as owners we do own an old dog and we do our very best to keep our home clean. We also do not allow any other guests to bring dogs but please know if you are allergic to dogs this may not be the right place for you.
