Unfortunately, we had a instant book guest in this instance that showed up at midnight for a 1 night stay, came in absolutely hammered and the female guest was so drunk she couldn’t open the gate and elected to climb over the gate and damaged the hinge and latch and we filed a damage claim. Furthermore, they were still asleep an hour after checkout and when the cleaners woke them up they cussed our cleaners and the cleaners had to wait an hour for them to vacate. We requested a late check out fee for them checking out 2 hours late and filed a claim for damages. This lie of a review is just pure malice and slander in an attempt to damage our ability to book good quality family guests. These guests were just pure trash and unfortunately VRBO has such a poor process of screening instant book guest and removing reviews we are just stuck with this review. Do know that we have amazing cleaners, bed bug covers are on all of our pillows and beds and all bedding is fully stripped and changed over after every guest. If you look at other reviews, you can clearly see this was a situation with a trashy guest that had no business booking a cabin and should have booked at a dingy dirty motel instead where they would have felt at home. We recently opened up to allow for 1 night bookings in the slow season but as a result of the type of clientele we are seeing that are seeking 1 night rentals we are removing that as an option and going back to 2 night bookings to maintain our Family Friendly Guests and Couples who are coming to visit and enjoy the beauty of the area, the wineries and a good cup of coffee on the upper balcony. We do not tolerate guests who damage our property, disrespect our cleaners and blatant disregard the check in and check out rules. We do try to make accommodations when guest ask in advance but this was not the case with this guest. Do not let this false review stop you from booking with us. We host an amazing cabin and we come and stay several times a year ourselves. This is a family owned and run cabin. We take really great care of our property.

We are sorry you didn't enjoy the nice leather furniture, new matresses, cabin appropriate decor and the brand new split unit heating and cooling units. I personally sent you instructions on the heat and cooling system in your VRBO inbox PRIOR to check in. I know you are not familiar with the vrbo app as you messaged me asking for the codes because you didn't look in your app for your check in instructions. I dont mind taking a hit here or there on a review if there is something legit but that furniture is really nice leather furniture and our heat and ac systems are new with easy to read remote controls for each unit. As the saying goes, you can't please eveyone..... even when you are generous enough to allow this guest to rent from you with a 130lb Great Pyrenees that left piles of hair behind for the cleaner to have to clean. Unfortunately Caleb isn't being truthful. There was a very low power brief storm that took the power out at 13:30ish am. He reached out to me and asked how long I thought the power would be off. I stated the power is typically back on in about 3-4 hours and recommended if they enjoyed wine that Bearclaw Winery was close by and recommended maybe going there to kill some time and enjoy the beutiful gorunds, food and drink. The power was back on about 3pm and the guest texted the cleaner at 6:30 pm stating he was leaving the property. The guest then requested a refund the following day. We dont issue refunds for act of god situations when there is minor disruptions. I did inform the guest that if the power were off overnight or for a period of days or something extremely inconvenient we would have refunded them something. I did tell the guest he lacked imagination! If you cant find something fun to do in the mountains other than sit around and watch TV and complain about something out of anyone's control then i personally feel like this person lacked imagination. I have no clue what his issue was with the split unit air handling system. They are 2 years old and work great. We had the cleaner came in the day before arrival because we had a gap in guest stays and they freshened everything up prior to this guest staying. It is unfortunate that some guests feel like we are a hotel and we can just be run over and treated like garbage by the guest. We run a great cabin!
