We loved the charming Tenderfoot cottage. It was clean, comfy and convenient to walking to shops, park, grocery stores, restaurants. Owners are amazing and take pride in their rental.Lovely landscaping and flowers and small sweet fenced back yard with grill and furniture to enjoy dinner or lounging.Kitchen has everything you need to stay in and cook. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a great weekend getaway. The location is perfect, and the bedding is comfortable. We didn't use much in the kitchen, but it looked to be stocked with necessities. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location to downtown Salida. The house was laid out nicely with 2 bedrooms and a nice living and kitchen area. Parking and access were excellent. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials, and the grill was in excellent condition. Overall, great basecamp for visiting Salida and the surrounding area.

Wonderful location for Salida downtown events. Surprisingly VERY comfortable beds. Plenty of kitchen supplies. Clean bathroom. Cheery back patio with table and chairs which is sunny in the morning. Easy parking. Well-organized, useful information binder. Friendly, responsive host. Would definitely stay here on a return visit to Salida.

We had a very nice stay here in early October to hike, fish and see the Aspen turning colors. Rene’s house is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, and in a great location for exploring historic downtown Salida. It was immaculately clean when we arrived. We didn’t do any real cooking, but could have. The fully-equipped kitchen was great for making toast, coffee, reheating leftovers etc. And the washer/dryer were super handy! Only caveat is the two beds are a queen and a full. We’re average size so it wasn’t a big issue for us, but if you’re on the larger size and are used to sleeping in a king bed, consider that. Rene has collected a binder full of info about outdoor activity options, and provided her own tips on hikes of various difficulty levels. Overall, Salida exceeded our expectations, with many more restaurants, coffee houses, bars and shopping distractions than anticipated from reading reviews beforehand. Plus the expected biking, fishing, and rafting outfitters. None of the other towns we passed through along the Arkansas River have as much charm or good vibes as Salida.
