We were able to immediately respond to any items that were brought to our attention. The other items brought to our attention, like a request for extra firm mattresses or a ultra-premium channel lineup, were not consistent with our listing and we are sorry that you didn't ask before you booked. Almost all our reviews are 5 out of 5, and there are numerous mentions of the comfortable beds. Although we have a hundred channels on cable and hundreds more on streaming Live TV, you also have the ability to load almost any app that you want to stream from. Our house is well over 100 years old and in great shape, but it is not new construction.
The houses is charming as is the area of Marblehead, the creaking floors there’s no way anyone can sneak around and scare people Abbott Hall, with their bell chiming every hour, was remarkable. It was just a lovely sound. We had to get used to the cars going by since we live in the country and we’re not used to living in a city. Marblehead is a very quaint little area, walking distance to the beach, plenty of restaurants and stores. Salem just up the road about 15 minute's, Boston is about an hour, Plymouth about an hour and a half. It is a perfect place to stay. My suggestions would be - install a shower curtain instead of the 1/2 glass panel in the upstairs bathroom, beautiful claw foot tub , downstairs showers is claustrophobic. If we decide to head back to Massachusetts we will definitely be staying again.
Amazing walkable location in the heart of historic Marblehead. Comfortable home with lovely architectural details and furnishings. Friendly responsive host. We’ll definitely try to book this spot again on our next visit to Marblehead.
Great place to stay with all of the necessities for a multi day stay. The place was clean and charming. The area is a beautiful part of town. John, the host, made the check in process easy with great directions, instructions, and recommendations. He was responsive to questions and provided more info/recommendations for the surrounding area(s) when asked.
Our family was very pleased with the house and the location which is lovely and convenient to stores, restaurants and the coast. John was a great host.
Very comfortable, very Marbleheady old home complete with creaking floors, lots of wood, radiators that worked excellently (it was cold & rainy for part of the time we were there), updated windows and large fans in every room. The common areas were comfortable and useful while still being charming. The kitchen was well stocked, including a spice rack. The decor in the bedrooms was a little sparse and the third floor bed was too small for my young, newly married 20-somethings. It would be fine for one person. The upstairs shower was classic Marblehead retrofit but a little dangerous for older folks - needs a grab bar for exiting. Abbot Hall bells didn't disturb and only brought back memories. The Marblehead walking access was exactly what we were looking for! Thanks for the authentic Marblehead experience!
The house was perfect for us. The owner was very nice and was easy to get a hold of. Great communication!! We did eat at Tonys pizza, very good. Lots of local small grocery stores. Very convenient to Salem.
Perfect place for our school reunion. Plenty of room, centrally located. Kitchen was very well stocked. John was very responsive whenever we had a question. Very comfortable place and we would stay there again!
We had an amazing time visiting Marblehead! The house was perfect for us. We each had our own bedroom, the kitchen was fully equipped, and the downstairs area was perfect for sitting and talking. I had a few questions for John and he texted back each time in a timely, friendlymanner. Marblehead is a lovely little town and we want to go back. Will definitely stay in the same place!
Located in the center of Marblehead, MA, the property is convenient to the two main shopping areas of Marblehead. Ample on street parking is a benefit, and, in the event of snow there is a garage on the property.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at John's house in Marblehead. Very quaint, clean and everything was as advertised. The owner, John, was responsive, friendly and attentive. We could not have been more pleased.
John is a wonderful host! We loved the house and its location was great. Marblehead is such a beautiful town rich in history. Easy ride from Marblehead to Salem. Beaches are within walking distance as well as several restaurants.
