Great Location and Clean Well Decorated Cottage.Included all the necessary amenities. Our Grand Kids Loved the Cottage! We would definitely stay there again and recommend for families.
A fun house with a wooded backyard, lots of games, close to everything and the beach was perfect with it right across the road...we spent so much time there! Definitely coming back! Perfect 4th weekend!
We loved our stay at the Cozy Cottage! The space was very comfortable for our family group of 7 adults and our dog :) The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. The private access trail to the beach was great too, very close. Had I paid more attention in realizing there was no dishwasher, I would have brought paper plates to avoid washing dishes, but not a big deal. Also, there was no ice or an ice tray to make some so we bought one and left it there. We will definitely try to book the Cozy Cottage when we visit Caseville again.
Everything just as advertised, clean and quiet property in a nice safe neighborhood, stayed there with a 21 foot bass boat, easy to get it in the driveway and keep it plugged in overnight. Will definitely stay again the next time I'm up that way.
When looking at the pictures Just remember it is across the street from the lake
Upstairs bedroom was alot warmer than the rest of the house
Would stay there again those are just minor things nice people very nice place
Our group of ladies have been taking trips together for years. We like to try new places and had a very relaxing stay at the Cozy Cottage. Tiffany was very responsive and helpful and the property was comfortable and clean. The shared beach area was perfect and just a short walk with a wagon! We enjoyed our time together! Thank you ❤️
Would definitely stay here again. I do wish the walkway from cars to porch was salted and shoveled. The porch was pure ice and very slippery. Otherwise, the kitchen had everything you could want!

Family vacation.
The inside of the property was much nicer than the outside. Property was run down.
Beach was across the street and a few houses down. There was a wagon to bring your stuff but it only had 3 wheels.
Had nice weather so enjoyed the beach.

As we discussed, sorry about the issues with outside. Also as I stated if I had known before you checked out, I would've sent someone to address the issues immediately. I wasn't aware of the wagon wheel- you didn't mentioned that before. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay overall though.
The cottage is in a great location across M25 from a sandy beach on the lake. It was well equipped and very clean. The jacuzzi is a very nice bonus.
Don’t make the mistake I did of using the “Private Drive” directly across the street for beach access. A troll of a man will pop out of his door and yell at you. I didn’t read the instructions carefully. The beach access is several doors down where there is a “Private Property” sign.
The only improvement I would suggest is for the owner to provide a working grill with a supply of propane. Other than that you have everything you need for a great stay.

Trip cut short non functional refrigerator
The vacation and place would have been ok if I would have had a working refrigerator. My family was forced to leave after two days of a non working refrigerator. So my family vacation was basically ruined. The rental in my opinion was not cleared and ready to be rented. The back patio was filthy along with the patio table and chairs which we had to clean to be able to even use. I would definitely beware and check that everything is in working order before you move one thing in the house. It was wasted time off work and gas money for my family to drive there. Not something I would wish on anyone.

I apologize that you experienced such a bad time. As I shared with you, I had the refrigerator serviced a month prior and it had been fully functional up until your issue. I had a guest there right before you and they had no problem so it was impossible for me to know that you would have issues with it. Moreover I tried to accommodate you the best that I could given the situation-including bringing a fridge over from another property that same day, offering use of another property 2 doors away, offering $400 refund for the two nights, and offering to pay for any food that couldn't go in the freezer. I understand your frustration but I did what i could with it being an unpredictable issue. The replacement fridge is working fine. As the repair person stated all refrigerators take a little while to cool down after a move. There was nothing that I could do to get the temperature down immediately.
Ultimately I gave you a full refund even though you stayed 2 nights because none of my solutions were to your satisfaction.
While I agree that you should not be inconvenienced, I strongly feel that I was as accommodating as possible.
As far as the patio is concerned, we wipe the table down however with a wooded backyard, it is prone to dust and leaves.
I wish you the best.
Disappointed in services received from host and Vrbo for stay
- screen doors do not shut
- beach access is not just across the street
- power went out on Tuesday around 5 pm est and I contacted host to ask if there were flashlights and candles. There was one little light. Asked host to report outage. We looked up restoration and it said Thursday. We got up Wednesday morning to still no power and no running water, couldn’t flush toilets, no showers, can’t brush teeth and used bottled water to wash hands. We decided to leave Wednesday morning instead of when our check out date was Friday at 11 am est. host would not refund our money for the remainder of the stay nor schedule us for a couple of other days. She offered $100 and we were still out $400. Vrbo would only refund $85 for service fees and said there was nothing they could do. Not staying where I don’t have running water, flushing toilets and can’t wash hands or shower for who knows how long.
- very disappointing

Did not deliver.
I reserved the “cozy cottage of Caseville” as part of our wedding anniversary. I received a message from the property manager that the cottage would not be available due to a septic issue. She gave me 2 other options with a ‘refund’ for being accommodating. I gave the ok for a different place and then received a message that the new property was not available also for septic issues. The ‘sunset shanty’ was the last remaining property. I was told the lower rating was corrected due to a new cleaning person. We received a $200 discount. I later confirmed this was not a discount at all for the trouble but she just matched the lower cost for the ‘sunset shanty’ vs what I paid for the ‘cozy cottage.’ When we entered the property, it was in the woods and ‘sunset’ is very deceiving. It did not have lake views and no water access which was falsely advertised. It was an older rundown double wide that was falling apart. The home smelled like a smoker lived there which was not comfortable my pregnant wife. Towel racks etc were falling off the wall because drywall anchors were not used. The doors wouldn’t shut properly. The furniture was cheap and uncomfortable. The tv would not work either. This was not a romantic get away and the manager knew in advance this was for an anniversary trip. We left early as we were uncomfortable. We received an additional $40 off but again, this was not a discount as the home had a cheaper price per night than the one I originally booked. Do not recommend.

Respectfully, I think you have misrepresented the details. First, my ad does not say lake view- the property does have water access which is explained in the ad. Before agreeing to the change, I supplied you the ad to review details and see the pictures. As a further note, Cozy Cottage does not have a lake view either.
As far as the pricing- I discounted the entire stay almost 50%. It was much lower than my typical rate at Sunset Shanty. I also reviewed these details with you prior to you agreeing to move.
I understand that it was frustrating that you could not get the TV to work- there is a second tv in the bedroom that could be used in either room. The TV is less than a year old and if you were staying more than 2 nights, I would have brought another one there. Upon your departure, my cleaner was able to get the TV on without any issues. I am not sure why it wasn't working for you - I do apologize. I am not discounting your disappointment but I think it is only fair to share all the details.
Additionally, I understand that you were disappointed with the property and I apologize for that. Again to be fair, I gave you advance notice of the septic problem and the opportunity to cancel the reservation for a full refund. I didn't know when the repair would be completed so I didn't want to have you get canceled at the last minute. The choice was given to you in advance. Although Shanty is a different style property, the property is a highly sought out VRBO and AIRBNB. I host clients back to back. I moved two other reservations from the cottage to the shanty within the same time frame and they were pleased. In fact, one guest has already booked a second trip.
Lastly, when you said that you were not pleased, I offered an additional discount of $40 and even offered a free stay at the cottage at a later date. My goal is to make sure that all of my clients leave the property happy and satisfied with their stay and I'm sorry that I fell short of that with you.
My husband and I started this vacation rental business because we love to travel and spend time with friends and families. We have three properties in Florida- two condos on Hutchinson Island South and a single-family home in Vero Beach. We have five properties in northern mid-Michigan. All locations are perfect vacation spots for us and we want to share them. As parents of 3 sons in their 20s, we wanted something that appealed to all ages. We also wanted a variety of activities, lots of great dining places, and beautiful sandy beaches. These wonderful locations checked all the boxes for us.
Why they chose this property
Cozy Cottage of Caseville is delightful because it is a perfect mix for various activities in a secluded private rustic environment plus offers quick access to beautiful Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron.
What makes this property unique
