Looks as cute in person as in the pictures! All the small touches (night lights, coffee grounds, a few check-in treats) were there and appreciated! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or recommend this cabin. Loved it!
This cabin was the perfect place for us to relax during our short stay. Our host was exceptionally kind and responsive. The pictures show a great little cabin, but we walked in to overwhelming feelings of peace and relaxation, which was exactly what we didn’t know we needed. I would highly recommend this place and the host to anyone!
We had a really good stay. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The location is very close to the center of town. We certainly recommend this property.
Cabin met all our expectations. Very comfortable and great location. Host was extremely responsive and helpful in assisting us in trying to locate a misplaced item. Highly recommend this cabin for your future Mentone visits.
Juli’s place was immaculate and had every detail we needed for a quick overnight. Both beds were amazingly comfortable, such that we didn’t want to get up in the morning!
Hootin’ Henri offers a simpler, cozy mountain stay while still reflecting the thoughtful design approach that shapes Hoot Owl Hollow. The cabins were created with care and attention to comfort, blending practical layout with natural surroundings.
I live on the property and personally oversee the cabins and the wooded acreage behind them. Two friendly dogs also call the Hollow home, though guests can choose their level of interaction. Hoot Owl Hollow has long been a gathering place for family and friends, and sharing it with guests who appreciate Mentone’s relaxed pace and natural beauty continues that tradition.
Why they chose this property
We chose this location because Mentone offers the rare ability to walk to the center of town while still being surrounded by trees and mountain air.
From Hoot Owl Hollow, you can stroll to local restaurants, shops, Brow Park, and seasonal events without needing to drive. At the same time, the property backs up to wooded acreage, offering space to explore and enjoy the quiet of Lookout Mountain.
Mentone is small, welcoming, and unhurried — a place where visitors can slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and experience a true mountain village setting.
What makes this property unique
Hootin’ Henri offers a rare combination in Mentone: a comfortable two-bedroom, two-bath cabin within walking distance of downtown, set on 12 wooded acres. While more modest in scale than the other cabins at Hoot Owl Hollow, it provides private baths for each bedroom — a feature many similarly sized cabins do not offer.
Guests appreciate its cozy feel, practical layout, and easy access to both the village and the surrounding woods. It’s a straightforward, comfortable mountain stay without excess — simply a welcoming space to relax after exploring Lookout Mountain.
