Midtown Charmer With unforgivable ROACH INFESTATION
My partner and I booked this cozy boho property to bring in New Year's Eve. We chose this based on the ideal location to a selection of bars we planned to frequent throughout the weekend. Night one went well, the place appears just as the photos in the listing. However, what wasn't included is the multitude of roaches that decided they'd played nice enough for one night. My NYE was ruined due to a superfluous amount of roaches that were up the walls on the floors and in the bed. Upon killing the first three, I contacted the host and let him know visually it was a nice place, but he had to get pest control in. Within 30 minutes of that message all hell broke loose! They were crawling everywhere. My partner and I were trying to race to get photos and get our things out as soon as possible. I forwarded photos to the host of over 30 separate roaches. I was told there was a tenant that moved out a week ago that said she seen ONE roach. (Where there is one there are MANY) In my opinion there is not way humanly possible THAT many roaches would over take a space in a weeks time. This space is THEIR HOME and we were apparently intruding on their space. Our NYE was spent playing roach buster and having to find accommodations on one of THE busiest nights of the year. This place has potential, but you may potentially leave with more than what you came with, In the form of something that may be incredibly hard to get rid of. We had to shake and spray ALL of our belongings out in fear. The place is aesthetically what you see photo'd, but its always what you DON'T see that will rock you to your core. PLEASE BEWARE!

Great spot in midtown
We enjoyed our stay at this VRBO. The rooms are big, light & bright & tastefully decorated. The apartment was in an older building & I liked that it had been updated but hadn’t lost all of its character. The host was quick to respond to questions. The location was perfect for our needs-we walked to dinner at Lafayette’s Music Room & if you’re a runner, Overton Park is just about a mile down the road. I also enjoyed running around the Central Garden District with its historic homes! Downtown Memphis is about 12 minutes west, an easy drive or Uber. Some things the owner/property manager could improve: -Wi-Fi was not very strong -The breaker kept going off with too many things plugged in to the same outlet (outlet space is at a premium since it’s an older home) -The light from the entry hallway shines into the master bedroom at night-recommend putting a blackout curtain on the front door window or over the doorway from living room to the bedroom -Memphis was on a boil order when we arrived & really nothing was done by the host to communicate this or accommodate it. We had to bring in our own water. For what we paid for this VRBO, none of this was terrible but could be improved for future guests. Thank you!
