The space
You will find this 3 Bedroom waterfront cottage on the Otonabee River is great for fishing, boating and swimming. It is part of the Trent Severn system in the Kawartha Lakes region, with the ability to explore many other nearby lakes through the locks.

When you walk into the water, it is shallow on entry which makes it ideal for going for a swim, and also making it easy for you to get in and out of our Canoe or Kayak.

The cottage property is flat throughout with a large grassy space available for games, lounging and playing with your pets. At the front of the cottage, there is plenty of parking for you on both sides of the garage.

This 3 bedroom one level cottage is ideal for groups of 8 or less. You will find the 2 larger bedrooms have queen beds, the small bedroom has a bunk bed (and small trundle, this room is best suited for kids), there is also a pull out couch and a futon in the living room.

The cottage is well equipped with everything you may need for the perfect stay. Including kitchen essentials such as dishes, cutlery, small & major appliances, cooking basics, wine glasses and more.

We get it, we all need a change of scenery sometimes so working from the cottage in the dedicated workspace (or the deck) with high speed fibre wifi throughout the property for remote work.

You can take a dip in our new hot tub to unwind in the evening as the sun goes down behind the trees. You will find paving stones going from the back deck to the tub. (Open year round)

Separate to the cottage, our large heated garage is where you will be guaranteed to have fun as it's used solely as a games room featuring a foosball table, ping-pong table, a basketball hoop game and more! It also has bar height tables as well as an additional full size fridge and microwave.

There is a 2 person canoe and kayak available for you to explore the waters with 3 life jackets/3 paddles in the shed closest to the water.

Outdoor games include: Spikeball, Horseshoes, Badminton, KanJam located either in the garage or the shed by the water.

Fishing: lots of fish in the water and great fishing off the dock. You can catch small and largemouth bass, perch, muskie and more.

Nearest Boat Launch: Lakefield Marina (5.5 km)
Nearest Beach: Lakefield beach and playground area (5 km)
Nearest Golf Course: Katchiwano Golf and Country Club (9 km)

***Please note: Linens are not included but can be upon request for $25 per bed. If you would like linens please let us know in advance at the time of booking. We do however provide bath and beach towels.***

Other things to note
Please note that we do not supply bed linens. Please bring your own bed sheets and duvet cover. If you would like to rent linens, please let us know in advance. Pillows and duvets are provided for you, to put your pillow cover and sheets on top of them.

Lakefield:
You will find many great restaurants, shops, cafes, spas and a chocolate factory among many other great places to explore in the town and nearby.

Firewood can be purchased nearby at Foodland or another local store. We do not supply firewood but if there happens to be some on site left by a prior guest then you may burn it.

You may park on either side or in front of the garage on the gravel area.

Outdoor garbage and recycling bins are located in the shed by the back deck.

Security camera: outdoor only for security purposes

The water is shallow for the first 4-5 meters and gets slightly deeper after. Soft bottom walkout, water shoes recommended. May find some weeds however we try and remove as many as possible.

There are locals in town that offer private boat tours and fishing excursions as well as firewood, for purchase. Please let me know if you are interested and I will connect you with them directly.

Snow plowing: we have hired a snow plow company to clear the snow in the driveway during winter. They may or may not show up at some point during your stay depending on whether or not it snows.
