Alderhaus Retreat is a modern three-bedroom home in the heart of Tahoe Donner, minutes from skiing, Donner Lake, and downtown Truckee. Gather and unwind. The stylish upstairs loft is made for time together, with cozy couches, a large-screen TV, an Infinity Game Table loaded with digital board games, and a shelf of classic board games for movie-and-game nights. It also gives kids their own zone to play or watch a movie while the adults relax downstairs in the living room, together, but with room for everyone to breathe. Kids get a room all their own, a whimsical space with playful art and an oversized closet that doubles as a private hideaway. Inside, little ones can color with crayons and paper at the ready, dig into a giant toy box, or duck into the teepee. The room is stocked with children's books and family games like Jenga, Mr. Potato Head, and Battleship. It sleeps three, with a full-size bed below and a twin bunk above, so two children can share, or a parent can bunk in with the little ones. Every bedroom has top-quality mattresses, fresh linens, and a range of pillows and extra blankets for a genuinely good night's sleep.

The layout. The home is built for groups who want both togetherness and privacy. On the main level, the primary bedroom offers a queen bed and its own private ensuite bath, a real comfort for grandparents or anyone who'd rather skip the stairs. A main-level half bath, complete with a playful mountain-cabin wallpaper scene, means guests and gatherings never wait in line. Upstairs, two more bedrooms sit together, a second queen room and the kids' room, sharing a full bathroom that keeps little ones close at bedtime.

A kitchen for people who love to cook. This is a true chef's kitchen. You'll find a six-burner gas range with a griddle, a full-size oven and microwave, and a dishwasher that makes cleanup painless, plus a water filter for fresh drinking water. Coffee lovers are spoiled: four ways to brew, a drip machine, a slow-drip carafe, a French press, and an espresso maker, plus a dedicated grinder and a generous supply of quality ground coffee, usually Peet's, always on hand. Everyday cooking is covered with a blender, air fryer, Instant Pot, crock pot, hot pot, rice cookers, panini press, toaster, kettle, and full sets of cookware and bakeware. Cabinets are stocked with plates, glasses, and silverware for the whole group, plus kid-friendly dishes and a highchair. For fun, there's an indoor s'mores maker and a popcorn machine the kids will remember long after the trip.

Comfortable in every season. The home stays naturally cool in summer and cozy in winter, a gas fireplace stove warms the whole place on snowy evenings, and every bedroom has its own Dyson fan. Two air purifiers are on hand for peace of mind on smoky days, and three humidifiers add welcome comfort in Tahoe's dry mountain air. We've thought of the little things too: plush towels, bath products, hair care, lotions, and a stash of forgot-to-pack essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, sunscreen, and band-aids. A top-of-the-line washer and dryer, with soap provided. A yoga mat is tucked away for morning stretches, and a dedicated work desk with a comfortable chair, tucked into the dining area, makes remote work or a video call easy.

Ready for the outdoors. For lake days and cookouts, we provide a portable gas grill, a portable table, and four Tommy Bahama beach chairs, plus beach towels, so you can pack up and head to the water or a trailhead with everything you need.

Tahoe Donner at your doorstep. As a guest, you can access Tahoe Donner's amenities for a daily fee: swimming pools, hot tubs, a steam room, a fitness center, private beach access, tennis and pickleball courts, golf, and an equestrian center. Miles of trails sit right outside for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, and you're minutes from world-class downhill skiing and Donner Lake.

Good to know. Park with ease: the enclosed garage fits one car, and the private driveway in front holds a second. The community also has a private lot with additional shared parking, so there's room even when the group arrives in extra cars. In winter, it's all plowed daily, so getting in and out stays easy after a big storm. The garage is fitted with ski and snowboard racks to keep gear organized, and a mudroom just inside the entry gives everyone a place to stash coats and boots.
