About the host
Your host
My family moved to Anchorage in 1970 when my father was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base, and I've been fortunate to call Alaska home. Growing up here meant spending as much time outdoors as possible. Whether it was hiking mountain trails, fishing for salmon, camping under the midnight sun, skiing, or snow machining through fresh snow, Alaska became more than just where I lived—it became part of who I am. One of my favorite parts of hosting is seeing the excitement guests have as they experience Alaska. I'm delighted to share a small piece of the Alaska I've loved for more than 50 years.
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood has been home to my family for many years. I've owned two homes here and now this duplex. It's a peaceful, quiet area filled with mature trees, and it's where I raised my children. Even though they're adults now, this neighborhood still feels like home.
What makes this property unique
One of the things I love most about this location is its easy access to nature while still being close to everything Anchorage has to offer. Just a few blocks away is Campbell Creek, with miles of scenic paved trails connecting to many parts of Anchorage. The trails are perfect for walking, running, biking and cross country. Around the end of July Silver Salmon run in Campbell Creek.
