Open the front door to discover the surprise of an art-filled retreat — cozy, airy and visually stunning. Perched on the flank of Cambria’s Park Hill, this light-filled refuge is close enough to the ocean that you can see and hear the distant waves crashing on Moonstone Beach. You are just up from Shamel Park, a few blocks from the expansive trails of Fiscalini Ranch and a 15-minute walk from the shops and restaurants of West Village. This home is ideal for a romantic weekend for two, a solo writing retreat, or a fun getaway for family and friends. The open-plan house is surrounded by green space on all sides, making it a quiet refuge with views of the ocean, pine trees, and coastal hills through the many windows. You can also see a huge expanse of stars through oversized skylights. The large deck is perfect for morning tea, afternoon reading or sunset viewing after a day of wine tasting in nearby Paso Robles or a tour of Hearst Castle in San Simeon. Each of the two small bedrooms has a queen bed and bathroom/shower. Two comfy air mattresses with linens are also available. The house is equipped with a well-stocked kitchen, a nice upright piano, WiFi, Smart Tv, many books and a stereo. This property is pet-friendly. Steep Driveway. Fabulous Quiet-cation by the sea!!

Tucked up in the trees with just a short walk down to a rugged rocky cove, it felt private, serene, and grounding from the moment we arrived. I spent the week here with my dog on no schedule at all, and it proved to be the ultimate writer’s retreat.The house is thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need. I appreciated the umbrellas to shield from the sun during daytime walks, cozy blankets to curl up under when the coastal air cooled down in the evenings, and top-notch kitchen appliances in the bright, open-plan space. Natural light pours in through skylights throughout the entire home—one of my favorite moments of the trip was drifting off to sleep in the bedroom while looking right up at the stars.I was delighted to discover a closet packed with puzzles. While I started on a couple, I found myself spending hours just lounging in the leather armchair with my feet propped on the ottoman, gazing out the expansive living room windows, listening to the birds, and breathing in the ocean air. One afternoon, we ventured a few miles up the coast to explore a dog-friendly beach scattered with driftwood and smooth, colorful stones, then headed straight back to recharge in comfort.Not a single detail was missing. It was genuinely a magical, quiet escape, and I would return in a heartbeat.

Nice gem in Cambria

Great location, very well furnished with full kitchen, patio with great views. Private, quiet, with deer sightings... We absolutely enjoyed our time here and would love to be back some day!

We loved everything about this property, from contact-less check in to all the details in the house to the easy check out. The only caveat at all is the very steep, short driveway; no issues, but my wife let me park the cars, haha.

Charming, great view!

Lovely and very clean. Well stocked kitchen and nice beds. The view makes this place perfect and the butterflies, wild turkeys and daily visits by a young buck in the yard puts this place over the top. Would return for sure.

My wife and I caught up with another couple we havent seen in a while. The kitchen is well stocked to cook in the home. Beautiful view of the ocean and lots of artwork in the home. Would stay again.

Perfect!

This lovely home was absolutely wonderful for my husband and I and our two dogs! It was very comfortably and the location was great . Easy walk or drive to the beach/ocean and the view from the windows and balcony of the ocean was delightful. A very pleasant surprise was waking up in the middle of the night to see the stars! It was breathtaking. I would highly recommend this property and we can not wait to return!

Peaceful Retreat

We found Ampersand to be a peaceful getaway for us. The weather was spectacular, the scenery beautiful, the house was comfortable and met our needs. We saw deer and turkeys on a daily basis as we enjoyed long walks. Being close to town was an added bonus. We would definitely come back! Our only complaint was there was a lot of construction noise as many neighbors were having work done on their houses. Also, we would recommend some nice blankets to use on the deck. Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy this home in Cambria!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love this well-equipped and well-located home. It met our needs with the same minor issues as before. Driveway is really tough for cars with low ground clearance; prohibited street parking doesn’t provide any options. CD player was glitchy like last time, and there is a lack of storage space for luggage. None of these are issues that would keep us from coming back, just a heads up for potential guests to consider when making plans.
