Overall, good stay. The check-in process was delayed due to lack of information in the check-in text sent (there are TWO codes you need to get in the building (4-digit-code) and then in the apartment (10-digit-code)), but the escalated support from the property manager was quick and friendly.

Overall good stay!
We loved how close to downtown Portland we were, it's a location that was very walkable and safe. The apartment was clean for the most part, but the shower was finicky, and was a struggle to get the right temp. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay!

Thank you for staying with us, Kylie! We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for letting us know about the issues you had with the shower. The water temperature has improved now that the owner has switched the water heater unit from a hybrid split unit to a regular boiler. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and we hope we can host you again!

When you take a shower you have no water coming out of the bathroom sink. Some of the rugs on the steps are loose and you can fall. The ice maker didn’t work.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry for the inconvenience with the sink, rugs, and ice maker. The sink has water, the rugs have been secured, and ice trays are provided. We appreciate you letting us know and hope to host you again in the future.
The apartment is nicely furnished and generally very comfortable, well located. The description doesn’t accurately capture the narrow, curving staircase, which had several loose stair treads. Some tricky low ceilings (watch your head signs are posted). Needed more detailed instructions for heat/cooling and called property management company. Fireplace not working and had loose tile. Would have appreciated a starter coffee kit.

Cute apartment
The apartment was spacious except bathroom but they setup the bathroom nicely. It gives you living in Portland vibes within walking distance of great places. The free parking spot was the best.

Nice unit close to everything
Loved the location of this unit. Can walk to everything on the wharf or downtown. Beautiful views from the private deck and the Observatory out the front window. The unit is spacious and clean, having everything you need for a short stay. Quaint little neighborhood with cute shops and pubs. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely apartment!! The stairs to get there are narrow, it was a little difficult to navigate with our luggage. But the 3rd floor apartment was so cozy!! We loved ending our days in Portland on the couch watching our favorite tv shows. Would definitely recommend staying here!
This house was fine as long as you know what you're expecting. The furnishings are basic, but fine. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and dishes, but not even a starter pack of coffee. It's 3rd floor, which we knew, at the top of a steep hill. That's important if you're planning to walk. The bathroom has a slanted ceiling and if you're close to 6 feet, it will be awkward. If you're a hair and makeup person, this place is not for you as the bathroom has shelving, but it isn't a usable counter.

Hello Stacy, thank you for your thoughtful and honest feedback. We're glad to hear the home met your expectations overall and that the kitchen was well stocked for your stay. We appreciate you highlighting the details about the location, furnishings, and bathroom setup, as this helps future guests better understand what to expect. Your note about the lack of a coffee starter pack and the limited bathroom counter space is valuable, and we've shared it with our team for consideration. We hope you still had an enjoyable stay and appreciate you choosing to stay with us!

GEM!
Location! Layout! Amenities! Who wants a hotel when they can have ALL OF THIS and at a lower price? Now a little stackable W&D would be cool but really not needed for a shorter stay. I will be back if allowed! :o)

Fine place - water temperature issue should be addressed
The place was fine, however water temperature in shower overly sensitive and difficult to adjust between scalding and cold, and temperature needed to be adjusted for the duration of showers to stay warm.

Response from VrboOwner on 12 Oct 2024
Thank you for your feedback, Holden! We're glad to hear that you found the place satisfactory. However, we apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the shower water temperature. We understand how frustrating it can be to deal with fluctuating temperatures during your shower. We will address this issue with our maintenance team to ensure that the water temperature is properly regulated for future guests. Your comfort is important to us, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Thank you again for your insights, and we hope to welcome you back for a more enjoyable stay in the future!
Great location! Be prepared to climb a couple of flights of stairs, but then you are all alone. Private little deck is nice. Hot water in the kitchen sink, but not any in the shower or bathroom sink so we were able to get clean, but not conveniently. Also couldn't get the living room TV to work. We were too busy exploring the town though.

Good location, clean, no difficulty with parking. Had difficulty getting in on first day as wrong code was sent. The code sent did not work on either lock. Stood outside close to 45 minutes trying to get things statightened out. Description did say 3rd floor with no elevator, but the staircases are a bit treacherous, steep and narrow, especially one leading into the apt. Any type of mobility issues at all (even minor ones) should probably skip this unit. If you are over 5' 8", be careful as there are lots of sloped ceilings, especially on 2nd set of stairs and bathroom. Hot water difficult to adjust in shower. Fireplace in bedroom leaves narrow walking space around bed.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're glad to hear the location, cleanliness, and parking met your expectations. We apologize for the check-in issue and the inconvenience of waiting outside while it was resolved. That is certainly not how we want any guest to start their stay. We also appreciate your comments about the layout and accessibility of the unit. You are right, this property may not be ideal for those with mobility concerns or for taller guests due to the sloped ceilings and narrow staircases. We'll be reviewing the listing to ensure these details are made clearer for future guests. Thank you again for sharing your experience and helping us improve.
We stayed a few nights in November while in town for a wedding. The apartment was just as pictured and described, with extra blankets and such for warming up. I had an issue with the fireplace in the bedroom not coming on. I contacted the property manager who reached out to the owner and someone was there to fix it within an hour. Only other negative was the hot water in the shower didn’t last very long. Otherwise, I’d was very cozy and comfortable, very quiet at night. The apartment is close walking to lots of different restaurants and shops there on the East Side and not too far a walk from Old Port. For the price point, it’s an excellent value.

Quirky, cute apartment with a couple significant problems.
Well appointed apartment on a quiet street. The fireplace in the bedroom would not turn on, so pile on the blankets. You can only get halfway through a second shower before the water goes ice cold. The property management company (Vacasa) never got anyone out to take a look at the fireplace in spite of it sounding imminent. The owner never responded to our text. Fail.

Location is good
The entry keypad and door keypad need adjustment as hard to use and way too many numbers for the door - how about using a person's phone #? Hot water is a suggestion as the "hot" water is tepid at best -raising public health concerns for the kitchen utensils. If you do not have matches or lighter - stove burners are out. The apartment is a 3 story walk-up with a very very narrow staircase that can be difficult for anyone with a slight disability or large suitcases. The location is good, parking is easy, on a bus route and clean. Note-bathroom is up a short flight of stairs from the bedroom. There is a murphy bed in the living room. TV has a nice setup and will easily use your streaming accounts including Sling. Communication was excellent from the owner

We were in town for a birthday trip. The location of this vrbo was great for getting around. The bed was the best bed Ive slept in outside of my own. Quiet neighborhood, easy walk to places.Caveats: all ceilings in the residence are plenty high *except* for the inside stairwell and the bathroom. Im 5'5" and I bumped my head on the "Watch Your Head" sign going down the stairs the first time. The bathroom is built into the side of the space (which is 3rd floor attic space) and I could reach the tallest part of the ceiling with my raised arm. Not a problem for us as my husband and I are both on the short side, but it would have been comical if we were over 6 ft tall. There is an outside stair case that can be used to exit the property. Im not sure if the key you can get from the lockbox opens that outside door.Note that the front door to the building has a separate code from your unit's door code. Its found a bit buried in the info about the unit on the app. I wasnt readily aware of the building door's entry code until I needed it at night.Would stay here again.
