About this property

City Amenities, Casco Bay Sunrises and Natural Beauty

Martin's Point high end home. This is a unique space that includes a beautiful view of Casco Bay with waterfront park across the street and easy access to all that Portland, and the surrounding areas has to offer.

UPDATE: The two year construction project is complete. We now have a single two way road to access the house (instead of multiple one way roads) and a large waterfront park across the street. Huge improvement and no more construction noise. ( see updated images with more to come next Spring)

This home's uniqueness comes from it's proximity to the wide range of events, culture and fun activities in the city while also being just as close to amazing natural beauty with hiking trails, beaches and islands. Amazing views and high end interior makes the home a comfortable and memorable place to relax. Only route 1 separates our beautiful home from an unobstructed beauty of Casco Bay.

Features include:
- Big, bold water views of Casco Bay out of all nine windows. Amazing sunsets and sunrises daily.
- Private entrance from back deck.
- Open floor plan with lot's of natural light.
- Brand new, Hickory hardwood floors and cabinets.
- Custom stainless steel counter tops.
- Mix of rustic and nautical built-in seating, shelving and accents.
-linens and towels provided to all guests for any length of stay
- Stainless steel appliances (fridge in picture will be replaced with stainless fridge)
- Two off street parking spaces with plenty of on street parking
- Large deck with patio furniture, views of the ocean and a nicely landscaped yard all around the house.

- Equal, walkable distance to Mackworth Island, Maine Audobon and the Eastern Promenade (15-20 min).
- Even shorter walk to the Back Cove Trail (7min) and The Other Side Delicatessen (2.5min). Plus, Veranda Noodle Bar, Veranda Thai, Hella Good Tacos, Beal's Ice Cream and the new Union Bagel are about 6-7 minute walk as well.
- Easy access to 295 (15-20 seconds), Short drive to all the shopping in Falmouth and a 5 minute ride/taxi/Uber to downtown Portland (Uber usually costs $6).

I'm happy to provide advice to guests. As a native of the area, I can help recommend local restaurants, bars, nature, beaches, parks, music venues, breweries, etc. around Portland. Also happy to provide insights for other points of interest in Maine. A binder full of brochures and a map of the area with points of interest will be available.

Beauty and convenience: Martin's Point is unique because it is a smack in the middle of both natural beauty and all the amenities that Portland has to offer. We have a few shops and good restaurants within walking distance and parking is free and easy to find, unlike on the Peninsula. Walk over the Presumscot Bridge into Falmouth Foreside, take a 5 minute Uber to the Old Port or hop on 295 and be at Thompson's Point in 7 minutes.

We have a bus stop right outside the door, an Uber is usually here within minutes, 295 on ramp is a couple blocks away and there are multiple destinations for eating, drinks and leisure within walking distance.

Great location, beautiful views
Great spot - location super convenient to many things in Portland, right off 295. Road in front of the house is pretty busy but drivers responded consistently to the pedestrian blinking lights when we walked our dog over toward the water. Good neighborhoods nearby for running in. Mat was super responsive and helpful - didn’t realize he lives in the other half of the duplex! Great with recommendations and general communication. White noise machines in the bedrooms were great for drowning out traffic noises - nice touch.

Casco Bay
Our stay was great. The view is fantastic even though it’s a bit close to the highway. Matt was super responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay again in the future

Another perfect stay in Maine.
This is the 2nd time staying with Mat. He is a wonderful host. Always accommodating and ready with local advice. The house is in the perfect location. Easy access to 295 and Portland is a short Uber ride away. If you’re looking for a good place for a working vacation, this is it. Two spaces to work with great Wi-Fi. And you can’t beat looking out the front window at the bay sipping coffee every morning. I highly recommend.

A native of Maine who grew up in Kittery and lived all over New England. For this reason, I have a good perspective on where the best spots are in the area. I love traveling and am proud to be able to offer my home to other travelers who want a unique experience.

Why they chose this property

The views, the proximity to city amenities and recreational activities in nature.

What makes this property unique

I've lived in Boston, MA, Portsmouth, NH, Denver, CO, San Diego, CA and Pittsburgh so far. What keeps drawing me back to Maine and Portland in particular, is the unique coastline north and south. The islands in Casco Bay are unique because there are so many and they are relatively easy to access. Go north and explore the rocky rugged shore. Go south and lounge on beautiful beaches. The other great thing about Portland is all the innovative amenities like great food and entertainment in the city.
