Quaint, Quiet, Peaceful and Picturesque - The Getaway - An Adorable Cottage steps from a Private Maine Beach. Sitting on a Beautiful Cove, this 2-Story Cottage was meant for Seaside Relaxation and Oceanside Recreation.

Enjoy coffee and tea as you awake in the morning on The Getaway's new red cedar wrap-around deck on Beautiful and Comfortable white Adirondack Rocking Chairs with gorgeous views of the Foreside waterfront. You are steps from the beach if you want to catch the sunrise and enjoy the herons, ducks and water lapping at your footsteps! You and your family and guests can also enjoy the The new Granite Lamp-Post and Patio with Adirondack Chairs, Flowers, Mini-Gardens and Lawn with Gorgeous Views of the Pleasure Boats around and about Falmouth Foreside Harbor. Explore the Beautiful Calendar Islands of Casco Bay by Ferry. Kayak and Paddle Board about the Picturesque Foreside, Beach Activities all day long or grab an Old-Fashioned Novel from the Bookcase and Enjoy!

The theme in the smaller first bedroom with a full bed, bureau and desktop with great views is and is called The Flip-Flop Room! So bring your sandals, lay back and enjoy the views!

The larger Bedroom has a queen bed and twin bed with nautical themes and great views - perfect for that relaxing Breakfast-in-Bed! The Living Room has a queen/sofa bed and newly added white Rocking Chairs which can be pulled out onto the outdoor deck! The Dollhouse has Bunk Beds, Beach Balls, Books and a Closet full of Toys for the Kids to enjoy!

But then wait ... You may want to catch walking, jogging or biking ... On The Panoramic Foreside ... and stop by to visit the famous Town Landing Market for Maine Provisions. There you can rent kayaks, canoes and paddleboards for the beach. A mooring is available at The Getaway if you are arriving by boat or have company visiting from the Harbor!

Lobsters anyone!?! The Getaway has a large fully stocked kitchen with a microwave and dishwasher. There is seating for 6 at the sunny dining room table as well as a Kitchen Island with stools for comfort. The Island is fully stocked with paper and plastic for munching on the Beach!

There is a Weber gas grill with all utensils as well as a Weber charcoal grill for guests who must "thrill to the grill." Wood provided for beach barbecues!

WiFi, Internet, a phone and three flat screen TVs located in the kitchen, living room and master bedroom along with a Blue Ray DVD and a Sony Radio/CD player are there for your pleasure.

Portland, the new 'Foodie Capital,' just minutes away, is renowned for some of the Best Restaurants on the East Coast. Visit the Old Port where Shopping, Local Fare, Pubs and Restaurants is extremely popular. Pro Baseball (The Seadogs), Beautiful Museums,
L.L. Bean and Outlet Shopping all just minutes away from The Getaway on The Foreside.

Lovely space right on the water

We loved the space! It was exactly as listed. We ended up not using the smaller space because there was no AC and the windows don't open but we enjoyed the main house. The owners clearly put a lot of thought into the amenities and we found it well stocked.

Perfect little house right on the beach. The house is stocked with everything you'll need. The host made sure we knew she was available if we had any questions. The sunrise from the bedroom window alone is worth the stay!

This is a house filled with character and plenty to keep you busy on rainy days. The kitchen was great with every kind of dish or pan you’d ever need. They had spices galore which was very helpful. There were plenty of ideas for visiting the area and plenty to do if it rained -games and books! The location was wonderful with a beach a few steps away. We watched a super moon rise one night and I took photos of a sunrise that was an amazing experience. The only things that were a bit tricky were the stairs upstairs and the basement was a bit dark and basement like. It was where the washer and dryer were but both worked well.

This little cottage is perfect for summer relaxation. The beds were comfortable and there is lots do to keep you entertained. It’s also centrally located so it was ideal home base for our Portland and sailing adventures.The owner, Val, was a delight. She communicated quickly and effectively y…and gave us a whoopie pie welcome treat. I’d stay here again.

Couldn’t have asked for a better location! Having the beach right there was so nice. We were grateful to have the use of paddle boards and kayaks. Our hosts stayed in contact with us through the week to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The house could use some updating but to be expected with an older home. The bedrooms weren’t ideal but we made it work. We would definitely stay again!

Perfect Maine getaway!

We had the best time during our stay. We loved the location as a jumping off point to easily get into Portland and up the coast, and then we came home in the afternoon to enjoy the beach and dinner on the deck looking out at the ocean. We would love to stay here again... for longer next time!
