Pet friendly, great location for Palisades Skiing, poor property manager
Great location for Palisades skiing. The cabin is pretty basic and small (no dishwasher, no washer/dryer). Did not have any problem with roadnoise etc. Heat pump heater is temperamental and a little on the cool side. Poor T-mobile coverage, but decent Wifi/internet (good enough for zoom calls). Pet friendly. Enough area for tossing balls/frisbees in the snow if you have an active dog, and for a long walk on the bike path along the Truckee river. Very nice. If you have any issues with the property - assume you will not get help during your stay. VRBO will be back forth with messages. But the property mgmt firm hosting this unit will be pretty unhelpful. For our 5 night stay, the single bathroom had no lights for the entire stay. A handyman showed up to try to fix things, and he blew up the lighting in the 2nd bedroom - so no lights in 2nd bedroom for 3of5 nights. Host refunded 1 night (about 15% of the total which includes cleaning/VRBO fees etc). VRBO will communicate regularly with you - but they can do nothing since the host is the key.

So clean!!!!
Cabin was super clean and cozy. We loved the location because of the easy access to the bike trails and how close Olympic Village was to eat and shop. We would stay here again.

Not impressed
Like many other reviews , the property entrance was hard to find , you have to make a quick left onto oncoming traffic or make a left at the light and go down an undentified unkept road. The outside was noisy from all the road traffic and diesel trucks with loud exhaust. Small cabin , uncomfortable beds and couch , the bed in master is very tall , the second bed was hard as a rock . The cabin smelled like old wood , soot and smoke ok if that your thing but we had to keep the windows open all the time . The couch is uncomfortable as heck it needs to be replaced . The cabin states that it was remodeled, I don’t see where . The river is a ways down within walking distance but it was not relaxing as the neighbors dog kept barking at us and it’s a shared . We left a day early and didn’t submit ourselfs to one more day of torture. The property manager did respond to our compliants and we got refunded a day . The owners need to invest a little bit of money into this place to bring it up to par .

Cozy cabin
We are a family of 3 who stayed at the property, along with our dog. Check in was easy, the property was very clean inside and out. It is located on a busy road, but set back a bit. Neighbors were very friendly. Kitchen had all the necessary items and we were thankful we found the fans in the closet, as it was warm. Overall we enjoyed our stay - the house was nice to come back to after spending our days outdoors.
