The neighborhood is a gem. It's right across the street from Farewell Bend Park and the Deschutes River. You can sit at a picnic table 5 minutes from the house and enjoy river activity which is usually watching ducks, eagles, paddle boarders, kayakers, and river float tubers.
You can walk into the Old Mill District in less than 10 minutes and go to a movie, shop, have dinner or attend an outdoor concert at the Hayden Homes Ampitheatre in the summer.
Walk one mile along the river to the white-water park where you can watch surfers and white-water kayakers and the river inner tubers ride the rapids.
Walk two miles (mostly) along the river to the beautiful Drake Park, Mirror Pond and downtown Bend.
You can run loops around the river. There are a few loops to choose from that are 1.3-3.5 miles long.
You can ride your bike on paved trails for hours from the house or ride on single track or dirt trails in 5 minutes from the house.
In the summer, thousands of people put their inner tubes in the river at Riverbend Park which is across the river. You can put your inner tubes in river in front of the house and be floating in 5 minutes.
There is a park with a basketball court, markings for pickleball, a playground and a large grass field about 50 yards from the house. There are sidewalks to the parks.
Easy access to Mt. Bachelor and all the Cascade mountains lakes and resorts. Once you leave the neighborhood you have two turns and then you are on the Cascade Lake highway and are at Mt. Bachelor in less than 25 minutes.
