About Suzi Nakea
Nakea Kauai Vacation rentals offers three properties for rent, a one bedroom ocean bluff condo at Sealodge in Princeville (Kai Nani), a three bedroom beachfront home (Hale Kai) and a one bedroom beachfront cottage (Punana Aloha). The latter two are both located at the secluded end of incredible Anini Beach. All three properties are owned and lovingly cared for by Bob Nakea and his daughter Suzi. Bob and Suzi are native Hawaiians whose family's roots on Kauai go back to the 1800's. No attention to detail on the properties is overlooked, and each home is furnished with the comfort of its guests foremost in mind.
Why Suzi Nakea chose Kilauea
In the North Shore's idyllic setting you can: swim, surf; sunbathe, scuba dive or snorkel, wind surf (with rental boards and lessons available at Anini Beach Park), go shore fishing, book a deep water charter; beach comb, go horseback riding at Princeville Stables, watch polo games at Anini Beach, hike the island's awesome trails, enjoy gourmet dining, work out at the Princeville Spa (featuring daily and weekly memberships giving access to the latest exercise equipment, large lap pool, Jacuzzi, wet and dry saunas, and numerous aerobics, yoga, aqua -size and weight training classes), pamper yourself with a facial treatment or full body massage, whale watch, take a Na Pali Coast boat tour or a sunset sailing cruise in Hanalei Bay, book a helicopter tour of fabulous Waimea Canyon, play tennis, enjoy worldclass golfing (with discounts at Princeville's Makai and Prince courses), drive around the island and take in the sights, or just simply lie back and bask in the simple glory of being in one of earth's most naturally beautiful and peaceful places.
What makes this House unique
Hale Kai's location almost at the dead end of Anini Road (1/5 mile after paved road ends and gravel and sand road begins), where there is only a single row of homes along the beach, means that our guests enjoy quiet and privacy not found along most of the rest of Anini. The protecting reef (one of the largest in Hawaii) assures that the waves break far out and not on the shore, and the calm shoreline and shallow waters make the area in front of the house ideal for swimming and snorkeling most of the year (except during periods of high winter surf). It is a wonderful beach for small children as it has a smooth sandy bottom (no holes to worry about!).

Hawaii at it finest as it used to be
No crowds no traffic no pools no water slides just a great beach with snorkeling
We all loved our time here: starting the day with the glorious view of the ocean and the beautiful birds put everyone in a good mood. The really short walk to the water was a gift for one of our guests who is handicapped; on top of that it was safe and shallow so he could enjoy walking endlessly in it with minimal help. Anyone we met was friendly and kind - we can't think of a way to improve our time there. Suzy and Bob answered any queries we had speedily and the advice they left in the house book was very helpful. We do hope it's not too long till we return ...
Amazing location for young children!
We loved our stay - the house is well taken care of and the location is incredibly peaceful and steps from the beach! My kids loved exploring the yard and the beach toys, boogie boards, and swim floaties were an added bonus. It was also very helpful to have an included pack n play and baby gates on site. Thanks for a great stay!
Perfect beach for young children
This shallow beach extends for yards and yards out to the reef. The depth was never much over my waist. No waves, except choppy wind swell. This made it perfect for out 2 1/2 year old grand daughter and the rest of us enjoyed wallowing in the shallows. Also great for paddle boarding.
Even being a property at the dead end of a dirt road, there were still plenty of other tourists and locals who would come to enjoy the beach in front of our house. You could have the place to yourselves if you went out early morning. Every evening there was a ‘glow in the dark’ paddle board excursion launching from the beach. It was pretty to see the lights of their boards out on the water. Great walking opportunities in either direction. Beautiful green tropical foliage.
The house has a great covered deck for sitting on any time of day, or pull a chaise under the raised stilt house to catch the cool breeze during the heat of the day. Wonderful yard for playing in. I wish we had had some lawn toys for our grand daughter to use, but she loved following the chickens all over.
The house, while older, is well maintained and was spotless. Our daughter and her husband pushed the (not very comfortable) twin beds together for themselves and used an available futon for their two year old. My husband and I got the comfortable king bed. We didn’t use the third, twin bed bedroom. Nice big bathrooms and a bathtub for the little one. It would be nice to have table lamps in the living room for reading and ambiance after dark instead of stark overhead lighting, as well as some games or toys for the kids.
We hope to come back to this house again. It was a lovely, relaxing time.
Great place to stay!
Loved our stay! Place was clean and comfortable. Can't wait to come back!!
Wonderful Kauai Location
The house was the perfect beach house for our inter generational family! The snorkeling was phenomenal as we saw many reef fish and sea turtles. The beast part was that it was right in front of the house. There was easy access to everywhere on the island. Everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend this vacation rental!
