Beautiful Plumeria Cottage-Anini Beach Plantation Style Home

PLUMERIA

Plumeria is situated at beautiful Anini Beach, at 3585 Anini Road, 300 yards from the ocean, in an upscale yet relaxed residential area with the largest reef in the Hawaiian Islands. Our SPECIAL PERMIT NUMBER IS 2011-23 AND OUR TVNC NUMBER IS 4234 Nearby attractions include golf, beach combing, hiking, sailing, kayaking, wind surfing, diving, snorkeling, and fishing. It is minutes from wonderful shopping and dining in picturesque Hanalei Town, and championship golf on the courses at Princeville. The spectacularly rugged Na Pali Coast offers incredible views from the Kalalau Trail or from a boat. Tunnels Beach offers both the novice snorkeler and seasoned diver the experience of swimming through a tropical aquarium teeming with colorful fish.

Plumeria has a master suite with queen bed, a loft bedroom with another queen bed, and a den with a double futon/sofa. A broad lanai surrounds three sides of the home with a screened in area for dining and relaxing. There are two bathrooms, one with tub, plus an outdoor tropical shower with hot and cold water secluded in the garden.
The garden has tropical fruit, avocados, citrus, bananas, papayas and flowers you are welcome to pick. The home has solar hot water, a septic tank, and receptacles for recycling.

From $450 per night - 4 night minimum. Discounts available for linger stays. $325 cleaning and stocking. Prices do not include Hawaiian taxes.

Our special permit number is SP-2011-23, our TVNC number is 4234 and our property address is 3585 Anini Road. We are located right across the little beach road from the ocean.

To Respect the Neighboring Residential Properties:

1. All vehicles related to the use of our property shall be parked directly on our property, and not on the street. There is plenty of room to accommodate your cars next to the house.

2. Out of respect for our neighbors, elevated noise activities or amplified music shall not be permitted after 10:00 pm.

Thank you Bill and Ellen!My family had a wonderful weeks stay and cannot think of a better location. Check-in was seamless.The kitchen facilities were fine. We cooked each night. Better lighting, sharp knives and enough gas in the bbq would be ideal - otherwise there is nothing to fault. We hope to return one day.

We really enjoyed our stay at Plumeria! The location is amazing - right across the street from Anini beach. The cottage is in a gorgeous tropical garden setting with and the wrap around patio allows for beautiful views of the garden.

Lovely, well kept home a short walk to the beach.

There was easy access to a beautiful, uncrowded beach. The house itself is a lovely plantation style and has charming grounds. Bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed although it could use is a colander.

Beautiful and comfortable home

Better than advertised. Pictures don’t do it justice. The house and yard layout was perfect, especially for sitting on the porch with wind and rain we experienced during our trip. We cooked several meals in and had plenty of kitchen supplies.

We loved the house and the location. My husband swam with sea turtles early in the morning at the nearby beach. We had happy meals together on the screened in porch and cozy discussions in the living room. We have already recommended Plumeria to friends and family.

Beautiful home, great location, wonderful hosts

We went on spring break with our young adult children. The home and garden were beautiful! The home is a true Hawaiian style, not fancy but comfortable and welcoming. I love Anini Beach, which was just across the road- sea turtles, calm waters, and shaded with beautiful palm trees. The hosts MaryEllen and Bill were amazingly attentive, and we so appreciated Bill's help in getting the Kayaks to a secluded nearby river.

Post COVID Family Reunion

This was our second time staying at Bill and Mary Ellen’s Pulmeria House. This time, we were able to share the experience with family from Alberta Canada. The house provides a true “Old Kauai” experience, complete with roosters and bull frogs! (Just bring some ear plugs). We enjoyed the evening rains while sitting on the wrap around porch. Fresh tropical fruits and flowers are all around the property, but the warm outdoor shower in the garden was the highlight,

Away from the city noise

This property is away from the city. Great access to the quiet cove across the street and down the road just a bit. The House is charming but needs a good cleaning and some TLC. Would we stay again, yes but would plan our visit a bit different. Kitchen oven did not work, and the upstairs queen bed needs to be replaced. We made friends with the two geckos who live behind the fridge. Again a charming getaway, and very much island life.

Amazing place in a great location

This place is a gem! The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do and areas to explore. The sunsets and sunrises at Anini Beach we’re just amazing. The kayaks that were at the property made experiencing them even better. We spent our afternoons on the lanai enjoying the views and ocean sounds. This place is great for couples and families to stay. We are looking forward to bringing our girls back to this house. The flower arrangement that was made from cuttings from the property were beautiful and such a nice welcoming touch. Everyone was so easy to get in touch with. The outdoor shower was so nice!!!!! Can’t wait until we can go back to this incredible island and house!

Awesome Vacation

We loved staying at Plumeria house. It was homey and comfortable. The kitchen had all the basic dishes and utensils you want and need. There were plenty of bath and beach towels. The beds were comfortable. There were beach chairs and other beach toys under the porch. We loved the openness and rustic charm of the house. The neighborhood was private and quiet. The beach was less than a five minute walk from the house. Bill was very attentive to our needs and answered all our questions. We are planning to come back and stay at Plumeria in the future.

Honeymoon Hangout

My wife and I stayed here for a week and really enjoyed our time here. The house is a traditional Hawaiian home with screens and louvered windows. It was very comfortable and never hot. Bill and Mary Ellen were great hosts. Bill transported the kayak for us so we could visit a local waterfall. Kayaking there was easy, but the walk once you beach the canoe was a little challenging and I wouldn’t recommend it for people who are not in decent shape. The house is across the street from the ocean. It’s about a 3 minute walk and you’re on Anini Beach. There are plenty of beach chairs at the house for 5 people. We cooked breakfast most days and found the kitchen to be well equipped. There’s a new fridge and the grill on the wrap around porch was super clean. It’s a very quiet space and the yard is very spacious with tons of fruit trees. We would definitely stay here again.

Live the locals life in paradise

My wife and I have been to Kauai multiple times. We have stayed in the beautiful hotels of the Garden Island. We desired a quiet, more local feel this time, away from the lobbies and valet parking. The Plumeria Cottage gave this to us with a beautifully appointed home and a charming location. The cottage was wisely and beautifully allotted. From a well-stocked kitchen, to plenty of storage for all our 8 days of travel. I personally appreciate the amount of garment hooks place in the bathroom and the closet areas. The screened in porch allows for meals during any weather and the open porch, which runs most of the house, was dry even during the heaviest of rain shower. Handsome redwood floors run throughout the cottage with enough seating for a dozen people. The cottage is supplied with two tandem kayaks, multiple beach chairs, snorkeling masks and some life jackets. Certainly, enough to start your beach adventures. The host Bill stopped by with some freshly picked local fruits and to see how we were getting along, a very nice surprise. If you live like a local, you live with roosters and chickens. I brought earplugs for the roosters and never reached for them. My wife, mother-in-law and I laughed about the roosters the first morning and didn’t mention it again. It is part of the islands rhythm and you become one with it very quickly. We all slept soundly every night. A few sips of your coffee and a few steps to the sound of the surf and you are standing on Anini beach. You see the large reef with the breaker a few hundred yards off shore designating the reefs edge. Then you realize your standing alone with no one in sight. You can go a quarter of a mile down the road and be at Anini state beach park with facilities for showering and grilling, but foot traffic through this area is low and you are a local with locals. We all had a very special and memorable time at the Plumeria cottage. Sincerely John

Our perfect home away from home on the North Shore.

For our first visit to Kauai, we couldn't have been happier with our chosen lodgings. Bill and Mary were wonderful hosts. We had a bit of a mix-up about our arrival date, but Bill was so gracious and made it work out just fine. The house is so charming and comfortable, clean and spacious. We loved waking up in the night to sound of pigs passing through the yard and waking in the morning to the sounds of the birds. Anini Beach is an easy walk from the house and the house is close enough to Kilauea and Hanalei, but not too close. Access to the west side of the island was easy when we wanted to go there, accounting for the usual Kapa'a traffic. This is the perfect home away from home for a family, and our college students loved it, and after we sent them home, it was a lovely space for my husband and I to enjoy some downtime together.

Lovely Beach House

We had a great visit at Plumeria cottage. The beach is right across the street with plenty of sea turtles and snorkeling. The house was beautiful with a nice garden space and a screened in dining room that was perfect for eating or playing games. The house had plenty of amenities like spices and oils to cook with, a great grill and plenty of kitchen tools. We have two teens so it was nice they each had their own space as well. There were water toys under the house which was great to be able to take to the beach and not rent chairs, snorkeling gear, etc. The house was clean and well furnished. We are looking forward to returning!

Wonderful home!

We just finished a two-week stay at this wonderful home. The hosts, Bill and Mary are attentive. The home is well maintained. A very nice detail is the redwood flooring and window louvers. The beach is right across the street a 2-minute walk.There avocado, Mandarin, orange, orange trees, and breadfruit trees in the backyard. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place. This is a real gem

The Ultimate Kauai Adventure

I was mostly raised in Hawaii beginning in the late 1940's. It was truly a paradise that moved at a comfortable pace. By the 1970's tourism was rampant, which changed everything. When I wanted a break I went to Kauai which was still a laid-back place.My return to Kauai this time was a great experience. I was lucky to find the Plumeria plantation house on Anini Beach on the north shore of Kauai.It magically takes you back into a beautiful tropical setting with beautiful gardens.. You can enjoy the gardens all day from the expansive lanai..The souse is spacious, and includes all amenities including two bedrooms, two baths, a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of living space.I consider this place I want to return to time after time. You can't go wrong with tiis place. 5 STARS!!!
