Adorable house walking distance to town-comfy private back patio
This adorable house is perfectly central to all our town has to offer. It is walking distance to downtown Grass Valley, while Empire Mine state park with its miles of hiking/biking/riding trails is literally just across the street. (I personally have logged hundreds of miles on those trails! ) The great room/living room has the most comfy couch ever and the large Smart TV is perfect for movie nights or accessing your own favorite viewing platforms... great WiFi too! Guests also enjoy the private and inviting back patio area for sipping coffee, outdoor dining, and relaxing at the end of a busy day exploring.

Very clean and quiet. Great location. Comfy couch. Bedding was nice but beds were super hard. If you have an f250 size truck you wont fit in driveway due to low overhang. The street has no parking. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
There were only 2 of us but we could’ve easily fit several more. The house is cozy, but Roomie and light. Everything was clean and organized. The owner went above and beyond with not just providing what was needed but providing high end everything. Even the air freshener and tp were of high quality.
My only disappointment was that it was .6 miles from downtown. My sister has MS so we did not consider it walkable to downtown. Still it was great!
We enjoyed our stay at the house, and it met all our needs. The only frustration was at the beginning of my stay when there were no directions on where to find the key box,( it’s in the carport downstairs) so I felt stupid when I couldn’t find the lock box.VRBO did call her,and she texted me in a few minutes where to find it. It did only have minimal kitchen items, and I decided against cooking anything anyway due to it being Mother’s Day weekend.Other then that, great ac,and lovely furniture to spread out on.I will def stay again when I come to see my son who lives there in Grass Valley.Thank you Kacie for being available to answer my questions, even though you were in Portugal!

Hi! My name is Kacie. I love to travel and meet travelers. I moved to this charming and beautiful town of Grass Valley 27 years ago and really enjoy sharing it with friends, family, and guests. The Sierra Foothills are wild and scenic and I look forward to sharing the best parts with you. I hope to meet you soon!
Why they chose this property
One of my favorite things about the Swan House is that it is right across the street from a state park with tons of hiking, running, and riding trails and yet downtown Grass Valley is just a quick 20 minute stroll away... walk in the woods or walk to town... you pick! I also really love the peaceful and private back patio area; its perfect for enjoying some down time with a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
What makes this property unique
Past guests have loved the live plants in the house and the cozy private back patio with potted plants during spring and summer. They also love taking advantage of the state park across the street for hiking, power walking, biking and even riding. And being a short mile from downtown, walking home from an afternoon of wine tasting or brew quaffing is a breeze!
