An ideal retreat for your vacation, private event, wedding, family gathering, or get together with friends boasting ample outdoor space and natural beauty. Yet, located just 2 miles from the historic town of Mendocino and 3 minutes from the popular Point Cabrillo Lighthouse & Museum, Caspar Beach, and Russian Gulch ocean bluff trails & beach.

Seaglass features 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, full custom kitchen including wood cabinets & granite countertops, and handsome gas fireplace stove for a romantic evening. Beautiful wood farmhouse furniture throughout. Full bathroom with tiled shower. All windows look onto trees and nature. 1 full size bed in master bedroom and 2 twin beds in second bedroom. Seaglass is suitable for up to 4 total guests. Dwellings are farm chic, quaint and light filled with county rustic feel. Please note, we do not offer a TV. Get ready to relax and unplug!

Mendocino Tranquility Meadows is a historic birder's dream. Originally owned by legendary conservationist Jacques Helfer a renowned author of "99 Birds of the Mendocino Coast" and "The Natural History of Mendocino." And yet less than 2 miles north of the famous town of Mendocino, you feel like you are worlds away. Numerous beaches, Surfing, kayaking, bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, shopping, wine tasting….. and world class restaurants all minutes away!

Set off of Highway one, you can hear some highway noise outside the cottages but you cannot see the road or other houses. We have one security camera on the garage facing the driveway (facing away from the house) for everyone's safety. This property is close to amenities including grocery stores, pharmacies, shops, and medical clinics in both Mendocino (2 miles away) and Fort Bragg (7 miles away) yet is like staying in a private park.

***Working with the guidelines from the CDC, our cleaning and sanitizing procedures include wiping down all hard surfaces with quality disinfectants. We launder all sheets, linens, and towels in water above 140 degrees. In addition, we provide contact-less check-in for guests.***

Beautiful property, thoughtful owners

This property is along a road/driveway that has a few more houses - great for multiple groups that want to be close but not share the same house. There is beautiful hiking directly off the property and it's close to all the things we wanted to do. The owner was also super gracious - a freak storm hit the area and all the power went out (including WiFi) and roads were shut down (rare) - he helped us from afar by texting regular updates and helping us navigate our way home (w/o gps). It was a once in a lifetime storm and could have been scary but the property owner went above and beyond so we felt safe. A strange trip and a testament to the kindness and attentiveness of the owners. We will visit again.

Everyhing was great like always. Perfect time of year, not many people at Big River Beach. 3rd time staying here, now all 3 cabins. All are great. Love the location, away from town

Nicely remodeled cottage, private and comfortable. Had good interaction with the owner when we had a problem with the plug in heaters. Between Mendocino and Ft. Bragg so were able to drive to both. For the next renters, don't forget to bring your own bathing soap and shampoo. I assumed it was supplied as is usually the case, but it was written in the instructions which I did not read carefully.

peaceful getaway close to town and beautiful hikes and scenery

The cottage was perfect. Spacious living area and well equipped kitchen. The surrounding property was fun to explore with all the trails and ponds. Quiet and serene. I love the beautiful, rugged coastline, tall trees and cool spots to hike. The Mendocino Botanical gardens were incredible.

What makes this property unique

In 2001, with two young kids, my wife and I found Mendocino Tranquility Meadows. This property has it all. We fell in love with the ponds, open meadow land, beautiful trees, trails and not to mention wild huckleberries. The former owner was a keystone in the community, teacher, and an avid preservationist and birder who wrote "99 Birds of the Mendocino Coast" and "The Natural History of Mendocino." And it shows. Each time a friend visits they are blown away by the treasures this property has to offer. After giving up the office life, and much hard work rebuilding the dwellings, we started our family run business to open up the natural beauty to families like you. We hope you will create memories you will never forget, like watching ducks on the pond, playing frisbee on the grass, and sipping a cup coffee with birds signing in the background. We can't wait for you to see it for yourself!
