Private, cozy, airy garden studio suite, for 1 or 2 guests
The garden suite is a private, cozy studio suite with private ensuite bathroom, it's own private entrance and private arbored deck overlooking a quiet garden in a quiet neighborhood convenient to the airport, neighborhood restaurants and bakeries and cafés, and many regional amenities. The carrera marble bath tiles are heated for winters, and the deck and garden have seating areas for summer. Like a little hotel room, this queen-bed studio suite is ideal for 1 or 2 who would like an entirely separate space, but don't need a full kitchen. The room features microwave, mini-fridge, teakettle & basic flatware - ideal for simple breakfasts or reheated leftovers.
This suite is attached to the back of our rebuilt victorian home, and was specifically designed with a separate entrance and a small hotel-room-like space for your privacy and independence. The suite is off of our Southern-facing garden, away from the street, with your door opening off of your own arbored deck with cafe table and chairs overlooking the garden. This suite is perfect for travelers who, not needing a full kitchen, prefer a private and well-appointed bedroom and bathroom to call their own during their stay, with a private entrance and deck that allow for independent check in and check out and all of the amenities that you would expect in a higher-end hotel room, including snacks and refreshments, tea and instant coffee, a microwave, mini-fridge, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, fresh towels and bedding and thoughtful, simple furnishings.
The room and deck face south and east, with a lot of natural light and air. Our small studio guest suite offers a bedroom and bathroom accommodation that is simpler than an entire apartment or house property, but with all of the advantages of a totally private space for parties of one or two that prefer privacy and independence.

Exactly what we were looking for, a quaint space with amazing access to very fun neighborhoods. Michael was a great host that took care of every question so promptly and was a pleasure to interact with. Highly recommend if you can work with a smaller space.
This is the perfect spot for a quick stay in Portland. We loved the neighborhood and the room was just what we needed for a quiet and comfortable option.
The host was so quick to respond to any of our questions or concerns! Great location. Everything was as described in the listing. Would have loved to enjoy the beautiful garden area but the weather did not cooperate.
The cutest little cottage! The only thing I would change is that I wish the room had a small TV, and the bathtub was a little easier to use. Overall a great 2 night stay for us!

Perfect for a couple nights if you’ll be out most of the day!
My friend and I stayed for 9 day. It was very comfortable and I felt we had enough room sharing the bed. It’s a very unique and friendly neighborhood, the local food was really good! Only 10-15 minutes from downtown Portland so easy to and from the city if that’s your choice.
Son and I on cross country road trip. Great space in Portland and Michael and family were excellent hosts with ideas for some local gems. Great to meet both by chance upon arrival and on-street parking was good and plentiful also. Loved the clawfoot tub and the private lighted entrance. Would stay again. Easy place from which to access the city.
Hosts were very welcoming and informative, quickly responded to any of my inquiries. The room was perfect for two. Safe and quiet neighborhood, my daughter and I walked to dinner. Seemed like a central location to get places around the Portland area.
It was a short walk to my daughter's house, the Woodlawn Cafe has very good pastries, and The Breakside Brewery-Dekum, The studio was perfect just for myself, Nice small porch looking out to the nice shady garden.
We loved our stay. The room and bathroom have a very nice high end renovation it seems. They have a window AC that was cranking, so we slept so great in the cool room. The location was perfect. Thanks!
This property was as quaint as I would have expected for Portland, Oregon. The place was exactly as described in the listing. Very unique and cozy. Michael communicated every step of the way with me. Although I didn’t stay long enough to enjoy the gardens and outside seating areas, the entire yard area was beautiful. I would certainly stay again.

This is a perfect place for a single or couple to sleep, shower, and get ready for the day. I think it's a full bed, so if you're super tall it might be an issue. Great for the price; the accommodations are low-end hotel quality and could cost 50% more and still be a good deal. Minor, minor issues for the hesitant: - thin walls and a slight lack of privacy- there were drainflies around the shower and a single gnat in the blinds. - the neighborhood is a little sketchy, especially late at night. But only on the main street, MLK, which is far from the VrboUltimately, amazing accommodation above and beyond what I'd expect for the price. Highly recommended
The place is beautiful, clean, cozy and has everything you need! I’d definitely stay again, if I was alone. I don’t think it works for two unless you’re a couple who like to snuggle in bed. I was with my adult daughter and the bed was too small for us so I slept on the floor.
The only downside is the noise, if you’re a light sleeper. I don’t know if I’d describe the room as private in that sense either. The entrance is but there’s a door on the other side of the room and one on the other side of the bathroom that lead to the house. I could hear conversations verbatim so I couldn’t have private conversations or make business calls. Little tip though, if you put the bathroom fan on, it muffles their sounds and yours. But I would definitely stay again if I wasn’t working remotely.
