My family and I had an amazing stay here for the Sister Bay Fall Fest. My parents, Fiancé, Brother, and his girlfriend, plus our dog all stayed here. Cabin was very clean, super cozy, and all around spacious for all of us. The fireplace was a cozy bonus and we left talking about booking again! Very highly recommend!
It was a great location for exploring Door County. It was very comfortable and quiet. Bring your own tissues if you are someone that has allergies. There are none provided. FYI- Both showers have slippery floors. The WiFi worked great while we were there. Could not get the cable to work, but I just used their Apple TV to play movies from my Amazon acct and that worked out fine. I would definitely stay here again.
it was a very cool log cabin close to sister bay where we renewed our wed vows on the sailboat Edith Becker-also close to Fyr ball celebration activities

Glad you enjoyed your stay! That’s wonderful you renewed your vows on the Edith Becker! Congratulations! We would love to host you on a future visit.
The property is clean and the beds are very comfortable. It is an older property, so there are some quirks that come with it. But, overall, it just added to the "up north" experience.
We loved the setting of this cabin, tucked in the trees and seemingly in the country, but in reality just a half block from Ephraim Bay. There were enough bedrooms for my husband and I to stay there with our son’s family of five. Well equipped kitchen, charming interior with a fireplace in the living room, and a screened in porch gives this place extra appeal. Allison was very prompt about responding to my questions.
I would highly suggest this beautiful cottage nestled in the woods, walkable to the main street in Ephraim. Everything about this experience was great. From the ease of reserving, to our communication with the host Alison, to our wonder stay at the cottage. I was with my immediate family and adult nieces and we all had a great time. The cottage was cozy and was stocked with everything we needed. We grilled out, used the firepit at night and even gathered around the dining room table to play games. I would reserve this cottage again. Thank you Alison!
This was a lovely space for our girls getaway. There were 4 bedrooms so all of us had our own bedroom. There were two updated bathrooms. The kitchen was fully equipped. The diningroom and livingroom were cozy and comfortable. It was quiet and surprisingly private considering there were 2 other cabins and other homes nearby. The cabin was very clean and and exactly as described. Our host was fabulous. She answered questions and gave us a lot of information. Thanks for agreat stay!questionsanoquestionswakeThehowas
Hi, my name is Alison and I am a 6th generation descendant of one of the original settlers in Ephraim, Ole Larsen, who came over from Norway in the 1850s. I spent every summer of my childhood in Ephraim and have always held these memories close. I moved to Door County in 2010 with my husband and we each now own our own small business in the area. We also have a young son and old dog to keep us busy. My brother and I purchased the Northwind Cottages as a means to protect the area from further development. We are excited to share our love of Door County and Ephraim with our guests and are happy that other families can build traditions like our own. My husband Simon and I are here to help you have a fantastic vacation.
Why they chose this property
We love Northwind Cottage #1 because it is very similar to our great grandfather's nearby log cabin where we spent our childhood. The cottage has rustic charm and is located in the woods yet close to all of the activities Door County has to offer. Delicious food & drink, parks, free music, boat rentals, the beach and amazing sunsets are all within walking distance. This lovely Ephraim vacation cabin will provide a sense of tranquility and leave you feeling refreshed!
What makes this property unique
There's nothing like curling up in a log cabin playing games next to a roaring fire or having an evening meal outside listening to the sounds of nature. At Northwind #1 you can take a step back and relax into a simpler life but when you're ready for some action or adventure, you will be close to all that Northern Door County has to offer.
