This place was very clean and comfortable with great amenities. Communication with the owner was also great. Will definitely consider a future stay here.
Communication with the owner was awesome before we checked in and during our stay. The kitchen has every appliance and gadget you could ever need. The rooms are spacious and set up well. There is no swimming right off the dock but is good just a short boat ride away. Lots of games and a very nice fire pit area.
My sisters and cousins go away once a year. This was the best place we have ever stayed at. We will definitely be booking it again for next year. It felt like home away from home.
The house was great with many amenities for vacationers. Our family had a wonderful vacation and it was a bonus to be able to bring our boat and dock it on the property. The owners were very nice and thoughtful as well, leaving my husband and I nice new coffee mugs as a gift. This was a great vacation place I would highly recommend.
I rented this house right on the water with my family for NYE. We had a great time. Plenty of room and we were able to bring two dogs. I would recommend
Great place for family fun. Downstairs “suite” was great for the baby and parents.
The two dogs were very comfortable on the spacious deck. The place was very well stocked with basic supplies. We would gladly return to this Sebago Cove rental.
Great place for a family vacation! The house had everything we wanted with plenty of space inside and out. The main level has a good layout with the kitchen, large dining table and family room in one large space. There is easy access to the water from the backyard dock, multiple grills to cook, and a short drive to the waterfront restaurants in Naples. Rick and Janet are great hosts - they made sure check in was easy and provided a lot of good info on the area.
My kids and their families, grandkids we spend a week together. It is such a joy and gland we started this a few years back. We have tried other properties one on Frye Island
and have agreed this rental was all it said it was. Close to town and water.
Janet + Rick's place was so easy to access, and the location was incredibly quiet and beautiful. The time of year was too chilly for us to be outside and enjoy much, and we even had a snowstorm that knocked out power for about 1 day. (That's life in Maine)! Thankfully, their generator saved us and we were able to stay warm.
The house has everything anyone could want/need and more - tons of games, kitchen was well-stocked, etc. I'd say that the cleanliness of the kitchen and bathrooms was not the best; it's clear that the house hasn't had a deep clean in a long time. We didn't let that deter us though, and we all had a great time. Janet and Rick were both kind and attentive, helpful hosts.

Milfoil lake
The house, deck and fire pit area were all beautiful. Plenty of supplies and furniture in every area. The disappointment with this rental came when I walked down to the water and out on the dock. The water was the most disgusting lake water I have ever seen. What looked like milfoil is growing rampant. My family all love to swim and did not swim in front of this place at all. So this is not the place for anyone who wants to be able to swim right where they are staying. I also feel people should be advised of this before spending a large amount for their summer vacation since good swimming is an expectation for people renting on a lake.

We are happy you enjoyed our home. In regards to the shore line it is unfortunate you did not understand that swimming off our property's shoreline was not perfect. Sebago Cove is an extension of the Muddy River. It provides great protection from the constant wind and waves you experience on the big lake and is reknowned for it's outstanding bass fishing.
Because it is a soft bottom cove there are numerous plant life in the cove but it has never preventded excellent boating, tubing and skiing in this protected area. In fact the girls camp around the corner uses our cove for ski lessions for the girls.
We did promote the availability two of our associaiton beach's one located 400 feet the other located 1/8 mile down the road. Both contains a sandy bottom.
Our pricing is in line with the number of people we can accommadate with waterfront access to Sebago lake. The homes outside the cove area that accommadate the number of guests we do costs more than our weekly rate.

Nice, but …
While the house was big enough to accommodate six of us, the basement was pretty much off limits because of an INTENSE and nauseating musky/ moldy odor. The grounds were messy and disorganized, with an assortment of chairs and tables, and an old rusty tractor was parked by the driveway. The lake is actually a cove that is too murky to swim in, and it was a challenge to get the kayaks past the mud. Lastly, and most alarming, there was black mold in the bathrooms, and in general, the place didn’t feel clean.
While the check in and pre arrival details were clear, and the owner was very nice (even letting us check in early), we won’t be staying there again for the reasons stated.
Our entire experience staying at this house was fantastic. The setup of the house was perfect for the 7 in our group that stayed the long weekend. There actually was an entire bedroom with four beds that we didn't even have to use. One week before arrival the property owners reached out and made sure that we received the check in instructions as well as giving us the best route to take to the home. The house had plenty of seating and common spaces for our group to hang out in. The layout is perfect for familys that have different sleep schedules allowing people who stay up late to do so without affecting those who wanted to sleep. We enjoyed the air hockey, foosball table, darts, and wifi. The ability to bring our small dog made our time there that much better. The pictures on the website do not actually do the house justice for showing just how big it is. It was also very nice to have 3 bathrooms. The sleeping arrangements were also very comfortable. Everyone in our group was happy with the beds. The homeowners also reached out to us to let us know where the best spots in the cove were to fish. I feel that overall they were very accommodating and went above and beyond to insure that we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. This is a house that I would definitely rent again.
Nice quite location. The owners was
Very pleasant to talk to and reached out when needed. I would definitely Rent this property again

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Great space, not the best location
Dock- can’t swimming and could not kayak, the owners said Iowa water levels.
Kayaks and paddle boat needs to be clean and updated.
Fire pit is great! Chairs need to be replaced. Some are broken.
Decking is great and screen in area was nice.
The house-
Great room with living room, dining room, and kitchen very workable.
Bedrooms upstairs- 3 queens and a bunk bed ok.
Bathrooms upstairs- one tub, one shower doable.
Downstairs-
One bedroom with two bunk beds and one large bathroom with shower, washer and dryer, sink, urinal.
The W/D and shower stall is on a lifted area like a step.. It need a red lip and a hazard sign. I fell off this Step. Thank goodness I was ok.
Also, we talked to owners about the mildew/mold downstairs. They said we needed to use the dehumidifier. No. My husband has been in construction. Something needs to be done like seal the concrete downstairs.
In summary, I would not rent this place again. It was very dusty and dirty. We had lived in Maine for 30 years, this experience has made me think we don’t want to rent any camps. Went you put that much money, to rent a camp it could be clean and updated.
Our 4 day stay for our family ( adults and toddlers) was absolutely fantastic thanks to the amazing hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure our little ones had everything they needed to have a great stay which made it even better for their parents and us as grandparents. The house itself was very comfortable for 8 of us and it literally had everything we needed. The property had so many things to keep us all busy and beautiful spots to chill, do nothing and enjoy the views. I would highly recommend this property and we can't wait to visit again!
Kids had a blast playing out back on the snow. Sledding down the back yard..
Inside had everything we needed and then some!
Comfortably slept 3 couples and 5 kids.
Janet was excellent with recommendations and instructions for the house. Right on the lake!
We really loved the house and it was more spacious than we anticipated. The fire pit area was nicely set up and we enjoyed it most nights. We brought a boat and also enjoyed being able to use the dock. The neighborhood was quiet and private enough to enjoy time outside. Janet and Rick were excellent hosts.

About the host
Hosted by Rick Granfield
We are from Massachusetts and have been vacationing in Maine since 1987. We built our first home in Naples Maine and took advantage of the 4 seasons of fun and sports. Maine has unbelievable snowmobiling trails, great fishing in Lake Sebago, fantastic Hunting in the fall season, and great boating and swimming. We had an opportunity to provide a place for others to come to Maine and partake in all the fun.
Why they chose this property
It is located on Sebago Cove which provides access of the best part of Lake Sebago on the North West Corner of the lake. The cove is well protected from the wind and a safe place for kayaking and canoeing. A short boat ride along the north part of the lake puts you at a fantastic sand bar and the entry to the Crooked River which will bring you to the Songo Locks
What makes this property unique
The home is fully equip with all the basic needs of spending a vacation from home. The roads are private dirt roads which result in low traffic and low speeds. Residents of this association get around on golf carts and ATV's. The association has it owns private beach and boat ramp. If you are boating during your vacation you can access three lakes without ever leaving your boat by going thru the Songo Locks. You can boat over to the Naples Causeway and all the way up to Harrison Maine.
