Ridiculous rules
Our stay was abruptly cut short due to an unfair & poorly communicated policy. The morning after our 1st night, we had some family members (inc children) over for breakfast before heading to the NP. They were there for less than 3 hours then we were gone by 11 am.The owner reported us to VRBO for violating the rules, which stated "max overnight guests:4" with "no additional guests." I had no idea that people who did not stay overnight were considered "additional guests." We attempted to reason with VRBO agents, who agreed the policy was ridiculous, but in the end, the owner has the final word. She refused to speak with me on the phone, and when I pointed out to her (over text msg via the app) that the that the house was very roomy with chairs to seat everyone, she replied that just because there are enough seats does not mean it can be used as a "meeting place or a restaurant."
A property manager arrived to ensure we "left smoothly," and informed us of a safety code/ordinance about the above ground pool being unsecured, and that young children were not allowed. No such ordinance exists – I called the short term rental dept. I would strongly advise against renting this property due to the owner's unprofessional behavior and the confusing, unfair and ludicrous rules. If she determines you broke the rules by watching the multiple camera’s around, you also will be without a place to stay.
